    I live in Eugene, in the early '80's I owned a 1956 GMC long narrow box that I had new oak rails put in, but it had the V8 Hydramatic things on both fenders, all the interior details this one has including the plates on the firewall the GMC motormount bracket, the tinted front and rear windows and large back window. It also had a larger fuel tank than the usual 17 gallon one, 25 or 26 if memory serves. I had to replace the crappy 307 with a 283 from a corvette with a 400 Turbo behind it she was a pretty strong runner. She's still around, I saw her going the other way a couple years ago, a good old horse.....

    FYI Rick, GMC did designate some of the carryall style trucks as Suburbans. Our family owned two of them when I was a kid. A 58 and then a later 60s model. Both had tailgate and upper lid rather than doors on back.

    That '36 Chevrolet coupe is neat, and I'm with you on it making for a cool gasser....but with the advanced state of rot, not sure there's enough left to salvage even for that. Frustrating to see someone strip down a very rare GMC in favor of a not-as-rare Chevy, but ownership grants the right to do as they wish, right? LOL...good to know you've put an end to the carcass-picking of it and that it stands a chance of being rebuilt.

    It's a shame that truck is so parted out. I think that might be one to stabilise and sit on as you never know what might turn up in a spares stash or with another truck in the future. It's super rare (1 of 300, so probably less than 100 left now) and it doesn't look like being too testing a restoration once all the parts are in one place. You'll probably never own another one, and if a better or more complete one turns up you can always pass it on to another enthusiast...

    • @ClassicTruckRescue
      @ClassicTruckRescue  6 лет назад +4

      I agree 100%. The scattering of this particular Truck's Bones stops right now. I will keep what is there together and start adding parts instead of subtracting. The Old Guy deserves some Love. Thanks for watching again my Friend. -Rick

    • @ClassicTruckRescue
      @ClassicTruckRescue  6 лет назад +1

      Vin tag on a 1955 GMC will not designate it as a Suburban Carrier. Just as the vin tag on a Chevy Cameo will not designate it as such.....ask the old guys that know....they will agree with me on this....the only way you can be sure is to trace the truck's history.
