Well. I had a moment while watching this one,so I put it on pause. While watching you guys on the highway I remembered as a kid ridding with my dad to deliver furniture here in Houston. The rides were long but the best thing I remember was he knew where all of the best places to eat were. A breakfast on one plate that would feed an army ! And sandwiches you need five mouthes to eat. So when I climbed back into the truck, I fell asleep the rest of the way. Rick ,thanks for all that you do. You triggered a great old memory. Thank you

Had a 1966 C60 steel bed with lift gate still in service in 1990. The 327 ran so beautiful. The passenger side cab mount was starting to rust loose and I sold the darn thing and went to a trailer. Wish I had it back now. The body was excellent, except for the one cab mount. I like the look of your 1958 cab a lot better. Great score!

Hi Rick; I love the old big Chevy's you find. My dad drove (he bought new) 1962 Chevrolet; C-60 with a Marquette wrecker boom (no wrecker bed on it), only quarter fenders on the rear. He contracted out to Triple A in 63. He sold out to a larger local towing company. That company got into trouble in 1970 when the city of St. Paul (who did an investigation) on some of
their employees were stripping parts off of towed vehicles. The city filed a lawsuit & all
towing equipment was sold off. Dad's truck (last I knew) was up in Princeton, MN. in 1970, and I was about a year old when that happened; I will be 49 this December & I want to try and find it.

I love old larger trucks, actually trucks
period, however, I'm kind of a Ford guy. Loving your Salmon color truck Dallas
!!!!!!!!!!!!! You really did a nice job restoring that and I'm envious I don't
get to drive it or a truck similar to it. I also love your humor Dallas...... A
big thank you to Nick & Frank for helping out Rick & his friend. Rick
has provided a lot of entertainment and knowledge thru this channel. //////
Also, that ford pick-up is doing an awesome job pulling all that weight all
that distance. Break-downs happen, but all in all you can't beat how hard this
truck is working for its size. /////////
Ya know, I keep my idle pulley sprayed with WD-40 as well as just about
every part of my 97 Jeep Cherokee Sport HD & my 95 Ford Escort LX. Put down
the contact cleaner and use WD-40. What isn't broke probably won't break and,
what is broken it may fix it. I squirt some down the switches of my power
windows, the latch for the tilt wheel, and any nook or hole that does something
(moves or slides) gets some WD-40. I discovered it one day when the high beams
would not work on my 95 Ford Escort. I was about to go get a new switch
assembly (not a cheap item) when I thought what do I have to loose and shot
some WD-40 all in around the handle using that little tube as I had no contact
cleaner. They started working again, for 18 years. Then again here two months
ago same thing, no high beams, did the same squirting with WD-40, working ever
since. Now with normal maintenance, I spray even the radio knobs and push
buttons, it works great around electronics and will not short them out. I spray
it in the fuse box to keep them from corroding both inside by the passenger
kicker panel to the fuse box out at the engine. The door hinges and locking
mechanism gets a few shots, etc.. I'm not saying this would of kept that pulley
from breaking because bearings are high speed, and idle pulleys usually do not
have high quality sealed precision bearings and are full of grease or, should
be anyway and very prone to falling apart or seizing up just when you don't
need that kind of failure. But don't sell WD-40 short, in layman's terms, it
can be used by anyone and will keep all the do-dads in your car, truck,
motorcycle, SUV working smoother & longer, and wont' hurt the plastic of
your car, just wipe it off and you are good to go..... Just don't spray it wear
grease belongs such as in bearings, grease fittings if your car or truck has
them, as it is not a replacement for grease including dielectric grease which
is grease used on electrical components. A big also, WD-40 is flammable, so I’d
use the same precautions as if I was handling gasoline…

Great trucks. The frame length was changed all the time depending on application.
But the tag axle, as useless as it is, should be left.
You could chop the frame behind the cab and shorten the tail.

Hi Rick, instead of cutting the back off. You should get it running an drive it home. It's worth more leaving it alone. Both of those trucks a beautiful.

Hey Rick, unloading is not a problem. drop the chains , put her reverse and hit the brakes. they come off LOL That's a nice old truck . i cant get over how little rust there is in it and they are still out there too which amazes me. When the price of scrap steel went up 25 years ago a lot of scrap went off to Japan and China along with a lot of old cars and trucks.

I would chop the frame and get a 58 Cheyenne pick up box widen it and make it one hell of a big pick-up ( keep the PTO ) and make it a dump pick-up box also !

I bought a 1958 tag axle like it ,35 years since it was started...but air over hydraulic brakes, interior, wood sills under the bed..all junk..way too much to fixIgave 650bux..I plan on putting a wholenother truck under it..I do wish they would tell us what theypaid..it doesn't need to be a secret...it has no bearing on what they may someday want for it and it makes it interesting to know ,like American Pickers does...OH, we got it started in 30 seconds of cranking with a tuna can full of gas...Im a 1958 model myself......It came from Norborn Missouri

That's what you get for picking that Chevy up with a Found On Road Dead truck. Just kidding, Ford does make a very good truck. My dad was a Chevy/GMC guy and he used that phrase all the time. My mother finally started coming back with Garage Man's Companion, just to tick him off. Oregon is beautiful though I keep hearing it rains a lot out there. Maybe that is part of why it is so beautiful. That and the mountains. Still anxiously waiting more news on the new building. Hope all is going well.
