RIP Tim ❤️ Swanfest was very emotional for everyone. Especially since it was so close to Tim’s passing. I will never forget all of the fans filling in the vocals for Tilian when he needed us to.
Those videos gutted me but I'm happy the fans were there for him cause tillian was hurting and the fans were there to not let him fall. Why I love this band and the strange community that, unless you're a part of it, you don't get it. If you do its amazing. These guys speak to the soul.
People gotta get into the 2 albums they put out with Jonny, Downtown Battle Mountain I and II, some of their best material Jonny Craig is still the best vocalist out there.
If you like Tim's bass playing you need to check out Secret Band or Wolf And Bear!!!!!! Tim is in both bands and absolutely shreds in both. Great video as always you make us DGD fans coming back for more
Secret Band’s bassist is actually Jordan McCoy. Tim did help on the engineering end of LP2’s bass tracks though, and I believe Jordan helped engineer Tim’s bass tracks for Artificial Selection as well.
I think the reason they went with "Pop Off" over "Bad Blood" is because this is a song where Tillian compliments John. So they used John's hook as the title
@@worduser899 Absolutely. It just feels like Mess takes the lead on this song. Typically, people see screams as an extension to the cleans. I believe it's the inverse here. Mess starts and ends the song. Comes in heavy and ends heavy. Lastly, I feel like the "Pop Off" verse in catchier and I believe it is that way on purpose 😁
I saw them last Wednesday in Albany and they are one of the few bands that sound exactly as advertised. These guys jam these tunes and hit these notes live and sound just like they do on their recordings. Tilian's angelic voice is so soothing. It will heal your wounds. I don't understand it and I don't want to.
9:03 when the song hits that heavy drumming and Jon goes in, I PERSONALY LOVE THAT SHIT. I don't know what it is but that mix of Jon's vocals blending with Matt's drumming hits a certain level of serotonin in me that I just can't get enough of. It's a beautiful blend leading into Tilian's verse not only complements the whole song but it solidifies their unity and makes them sound so unique without having to rely on the traditional music theory chord structure and their colorful tones and sounds makes them my top favorite band for sure.
Check out Uneasy hearts weigh the most live from their 10 year tour. You get to hear all 3 of their clean vocalist together. A unique and worthwhile experience

I check your RUclips every day just to see if you post the next DGD song. I absolutely love your reactions, explanations, and emotions while you listen to them. Keep up the awesome work!! Your reactions are my favorite!
Loved the drums at the beginning. So, we all learned recently, Tim passed from an overdose. His mother shared with a local news station a few days ago. So sad, and we all love Tim and the guys, and us true dgd fans love your reactions. You completely understand why we love them. They are musical geniuses in a day and age where most music is fluff. You are a real dance gavin dance fan and it's awesome.
My personal favorite song now, cause I saw them at Swanfest last month, is Count Bassy (pronounced like the guitar) Especially towards the end with Tim’s bass solo
@@Callsign_Kishin I know, my friend was crying after they finished playing. Luckily, she was in the front and got one of the set lists so that helped cheer her up.
You should do a 5by for DGD at this point, please include Chucky VS the Giant Tortoise, and basically anything else from the last 4 albums as those have Tillian on them.
ALSO I WISH YOUD POST PIANO COVERS OF THEIR SONGS! THATS FRIGGIN INCREDIBLE THAT YOU CAN JUST PLAY IT ON THE PIANO AFTER HEARING IT ONCE! I only know one other person that can listen to a song once and replicate it on guitar, only he doesn't know the notes or how to even read music, and that person is my dad. 😂
I just saw them live recently, and yes, they are as good live as you think they are. Love how you always dissect these songs and how much work goes into their music. RIP Tim
at 9:30 when he is admiring how high Tilian's range can go, I was so ready to see his reaction in a couple of seconds when he goes even higher :'D. Was amused once he actually heard it at 9:39. Love your reviews, keep it up :)
Slinglerland is from Conway, Arkansas I believe. I live near there and was able to play on a kit at a festival that was a White Slingerland signature kit. Was hands down the best sounding kit I have ever played.
I took my five year old to see them last Friday for his first-ever concert experience… Their caliber of performance is simply unmatched. This was my second time seeing them, and two-for-two, their sound is absolutely studio quality. Can’t wait to see them again. Also - I love you content! Thanks for making great videos.
@@MusicShed they have 2 murals one for afterburner and one for jackpot juicer painted on buildings in downtown. They’ve been turned into memorial sites. 🥲
You have to check out Mutual Fear (feat Jon Mess) by Eidola! Eidola is fronted by Andrew Wells of Dance Gavin Dance. Andrew plays guitar in both DGD and Eidola!
I've seen DGD a few times with Tim and they have always blown me away. I couldn't make it to swanfest shortly after Tim's passing cuz I'm on the east coast but I will be seeing them open for Coheed and Cambria this Summer. DGD is among my favorites. Love them. RIP Tim
i recommend Mutual Fear by Eidola!!! it features Jon doing unclean vocals and Eidola's vocalist Andrew Wells is awesome (and i think he officially joined DGD a little while ago too) (:
saw them on their first show without Tim in spokane. Seeing them was a dream come true, although really sad without Tim. What was crazy is both Tillians highs and everything by Jon sounds identical to the recording
I love your music reviews! They're so genuinely wholesome and just very heartfelt! You're a legend! If I find any snare drums I'll comment and ask you how I can show them to you!
I saw them last night (5/17) and Sergio filled in for Tim, they were friends. Best time I've ever had, got to the barricade and everything. If they're ever near you - GO SEE THEM
Can you react to "Die Another Day" I think its the best song in the album, next is "For the Jeers", "Synergy", "Pop Off", "Feels Bad Man", "Cream of the Crop", "Ember", "Current Events", "Back on Deck", "Long Nights in Jail", "Pray to God for your Mother" and "One mans Cringe". The whole album is fire, and imo Comparable to Happiness and Instant Gratification in quality. Different sound but guaranteed to be classics.
If you really enjoy the contrast and juxtaposition of Jon's screaming and Tillian's clean vocals, you might really enjoy Alexisonfire. They're not quite as crazy instrumentality but George has a very similar delivery to Jon and Dallas Green has one of the most beautiful voices in music. They're releasing new music right now, but an older song called This Could Be Anywhere In The World is probably peak AOF.
My heart goes out to Trevor Strnads family too for their loss. The Black Dahlia Murder (the band he was the vocalist for) were veterans in the metal scene
You reminded me when you talked about how different the vocals are but some reactor said something like, 'if you write down all the qualities of DGD on paper, it shouldn't make sense or work together but their that good that it sounds great.' I love DGD. Check out more please.
I love seeing you improvise along to the song! It's clear that you're having a lot of fun with it! A song I'd like to see you react to is Locket by Crumb if you haven't already! It's one of my favorite songs and psychedelic rock is a really cool genre in general!
I recommend street rat if you are going to react to wolf and bear! That is definitely my favorite. Just saw DGD in Raleigh NC, and it was soooooooo good!! Seeing them with Coheed later this summer!

I really really think this channel is at its best when you're breaking down the musical theory or geeking out like you with your snare love
Dude my snare love is insane af
I think this the most singable chorus they’ve ever wrote. And that’s saying ALOT.
They’re all so catchy especially off the last record
I agree but also; the second refrain in this song is even more addicting
