Absolute banger. Anything Pearl Jam, Nirvana, there was plenty of bangers in the 90s in Australia 🇦🇺 check out Cold Chisel,Inxs,Midnight Oil,1927,Jimmy Barnes solo career,Hoodoo Guru's, The Angels,Mental As Anything, Divinyls,Noise Works,Boom Crash Opera the list goes on
90s music was definitely a vibe. One of the strongest legacies of Gen X. The line “swim out past the breakers, watch the world die” was definitely where our heads were at. I love seeing people today rock out to the stuff I was jamming to in high school.
Everclear has so many great songs and so many that will break your heart. “Heartspark Dollarsign”, “Heroin Girl”, “Everything to Everyone”, “AM Radio”, “I Will Buy You A New Life”, “Unemployed Boyfriend”, “Volvo Driving Soccer Mom”. And the songs that will make you cry, “Father of Mine”, “Wonderful”, “Why I Don’t Believe in God”. Art Alexakis, the lead singer, had a really, really, really shitty life growing up and he puts a lot of his feelings into his music. And there’s a lot there that people can resonate with.
"Father Of Mine" and "I Will Buy You A New Life" are two of their best songs. We waited a long time for Everclear, don't make us wait 3 years for the next one.
Great 90s and 00s bands. Green Day, Blink 182, Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Helmet, Disturbed, Godsmack, 3 Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, 5 Finger Death Punch, Alterbridge, System of A Down, and The Killers.
Fun Fact: Santa Monica is a seaside town in California where Everclear lead singer Art Alexakis grew up. He describes it as "Like LA, but on the coast." The warm weather, beaches and palm trees serve as iconic references in the song, as Alexakis explains: "I've lived in cold places and been in bad relationships, and I think everybody has a place in their mind that is like a safe haven. It's also about getting away from bad times... the ending of something is also the beginning of something new, whether it's with someone or getting out of a bad job, a bad way of life or an abusive relationship."
@@JohnMorris-c5v Yes, but Art was born, raised, and grew up in Los Angeles (Culver City and Del Ray). He moved to Portland AFTER having first moved to San Francisco in the late 80s.
Everclear - Heroin Girl. This is one of the best Everclear songs but i guess you really cant go wrong with a lot of them. They are totally '90s. I miss those days!
YEAY EVERCLEAR! Finally! One of my favorite late 90's groups. So many classic songs. Heroin Girl from the same album as Santa Monica is also good. The album So Much for the Afterglow (1997) is still one of my favorite albums, I could listen to the whole thing on repeat over and over again...featuring hit singles: Everything to Everyone, I Will Buy You a New Life, the title track, and one that got lots of replay on radio Father of Mine (the song that's probably known more by non-Everclear fans). In 2000, they had a few more hits: Wonderful and AM Radio, and in 2003: Volvo Driving Soccer Mom is one of their last singles that got much play...a fun song that REALLY needs to get some love from reactors.
I’ve been hoping you guys would get to Everclear sooner than later. Father of Mine, Wonderful, I Will Buy You a New Life, Everything to Everyone, and AM Radio are all great. I saw them live last year and they are still amazing!
This is quite possibly my favorite song of all time. I was a sophomore in college when this came out and I immediately fell in love with it. For some reason it just resonated with me on a perfect level. Over the years and through many failed relationships and everything in between, this song is one of those constants that can bring back a memory that no matter how bittersweet makes you miss a time that’s long gone in a place that no longer exists. I am so glad you guys gave this one a listen!!! And, if you’re going to do another Everclear song, I recommend “Heartspark Dollarsign”. You will not be disappointed.
I travel from KC to SoCal and back ever week for work. This is my pump up song to listen to while I'm waiting for the plane to take off! A real Banger!
Honestly, watching you two's genuine reactions to these songs have always put a smile on my face. Makes me feel like im jamming out with the music with y'all because you dint randomly pause the sing
I loved this band in the 90's! They have some great songs, and pretty different in terms of their vibe and energy- another high energy one is "AM Radio", kinda mid-energy is "I will buy you a new life", and a more in your feelings song is a big hit they had called "Wonderful". Definitely recommend it and the others too.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! "Father of Mine" has to be next. Also, a great 90's song is "Living In a Dream" by Arc Angels (a band that features Stevie Ray Vauhan's rhythm section Double Trouble).
Thanks for this reaction - it's been a day since I heard this one!! Speaking of ringing that bell, Jay, please don't forget you still have never reacted to the creative and talented Canadian band with the coolest name - Walk Off The Earth! Nearly any of their songs will do, but a good place to start would be with their cover of Adele's "Hello" featuring Myles and Isaac! One of their vocalists is female too, so you could bring them out for a Friday!!
I was in high school when this dropped and I have to tell you the 90s were the absolute and best time ever. Ever ever ever!!! I feel so blessed to have been there. 💜🤘
The great thing about Everclear is that every single one of their songs sounds exactly the same, so now that you've heard their best one (lyrically), you've heard them all!
I was in high school and college through the 90s. Alternative and Grunge from the 90s was THE BEST music ever! My girls are 24 and 22. People always ask them how they lnow so many "90s songs." They always laugh and say, "Have you ever ridden in the car with my mom?"😂.
One of my favorite all time bands … met and talked to front man Art Alexakis after a show a few years ago. Awesome dude. Still one of my favorite lyrical storytellers.
I'll will add again for Spirit of the West. They were a west coast Canadian band that was punk/celtic rock from the late 80s through the 90s. They have a song that most Canadians will jump up and dance to if they ever hear it called Home For A Rest. On that album was another song about how we treat each other in society called Puttin' Up With The Joneses.
I remember when this first came out, and for years afterwards, my sister would mis-sing the first line, because she was sure it was gonna be "I am still livin' with your ... girrrlfrriiennd". Certainly makes sense in hindsight after I read interviews where Art Alexakis said they made music more like Tom Petty than "grunge".
I lived just 8 blocks from the lead singers house when we were both growing up in Portland. He was a couple years older than me so I never knew him, but it was pretty cool seeing someone get out of my neighborhood and make it big, it was a rough part of town.
My husband and I did our first full week vacation, just us, since our honeymoon (2004) the summer of 23. We were pleasantly surprised to find a music venue two minutes from our condo. We got to see Everclear Thursday night and Grand Funk Railroad Friday. Great week!😍
Wow, I remember seeing them at the Electric Factory on this tour, met them a few times too, really nice guys. I LOVE how he is drowning in a house, says so much. I feel old now.
“Flagpole Sitta” by: Harvey Danger. Absolute 90’s banger.
Oh yeah!
Me and my best friend from high school would blast that song while driving, playing Tecmo Bowl, and shooting hoops.
Absolute banger. Anything Pearl Jam, Nirvana, there was plenty of bangers in the 90s in Australia 🇦🇺 check out Cold Chisel,Inxs,Midnight Oil,1927,Jimmy Barnes solo career,Hoodoo Guru's, The Angels,Mental As Anything, Divinyls,Noise Works,Boom Crash Opera the list goes on
Definitly
Good suggestion!
"I Will Buy You A New Life" from Everclear is another great banger you guys should listen to next!!
I love "I will buy you a New life". For some reason I sort of consider it Christmas song, though I listen to is all year round.
I really like A.M. Radio as well, but it's got some pretty specific references, so I don't know how well it's aged for a younger audience.
Agreed! So good. That and "father of mine"
90s music was definitely a vibe. One of the strongest legacies of Gen X. The line “swim out past the breakers, watch the world die” was definitely where our heads were at. I love seeing people today rock out to the stuff I was jamming to in high school.
Yeah, that’s the line that made me like this song.

Dude is a Christian now. He has a good story.
I forgot that they were the one's who sang Heartspark Dollarsign. My friend used to sing it all the time in high school.
"Father Of Mine" and "I Will Buy You A New Life" are two of their best songs. We waited a long time for Everclear, don't make us wait 3 years for the next one.
I graduated in 95. These songs are literally the soundtrack of my life ❤
Me too
I also graduated in 1995! 😁
Next for Everclear- "Father of Mine"
Yes!
Definitely!
^^^^This!!!
Exactly!
No!!!
This entire album is fantastic from start to finish.
One of the most underappreciated albums. Great songwriting.
It’s so raw and emotional. Best album of the 90’s in my opinion.
@NathanWolke TOTALLY agreed. So Much For The Afterglow was great too.
The lyrics are so honest and heartfelt.
Great choice! Everclear was MASSIVE on rock radio in the 90s! Check out the goofy but catchy "AM Radio"
This!
The 90’s were the last decade for any kind of individuality in music. Great song
“Summerland” and “Heroin Girl” are both great from the same album. Sparkle and Fade was an iconic album in the late 90s.
Absolutely one of the best songs of the 90’s!

The band hails from Portland
I'm from Northern California, its all LA to us, lol
@@JohnMorris-c5v Yes, but Art was born, raised, and grew up in Los Angeles (Culver City and Del Ray). He moved to Portland AFTER having first moved to San Francisco in the late 80s.
Between the music video and the content of the song, it reminds me a lot of Hate Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe.
Everclear - Heroin Girl.
This is one of the best Everclear songs but i guess you really cant go wrong with a lot of them. They are totally '90s. I miss those days!
Everclear! Great group!
Their song 'Father of Mine' is among the saddest songs ever written, but also brilliant. It's a must listen.
They have a song called "Father of Mine" it really hits close to home, for far too many of us!
Father of Mine is an absolute must! The lyrics will floor you. Do it as an homage to kids that need really love in the home.
It was my anthem for my own Dad. Fabulous song ❤
Everclear- Wonderful is another FANTASTIC song. Their best imo.
The most 90's band that ever 90'sd. Love it.

"Santa Monica" is a turn it up, sing your ass off in the car song!! Love it!!
I’ve been hoping you guys would get to Everclear sooner than later. Father of Mine, Wonderful, I Will Buy You a New Life, Everything to Everyone, and AM Radio are all great. I saw them live last year and they are still amazing!
A GREAT 90s one hit wonders was "Spacehog In the Meantime"
They already did a reaction to it last year.
An underappreciated 90s gem! dbl ♥
Everclear - “Father Of Mine”
“AM Radio” is so good!!❤❤❤
I dated a girl in La Jolla before this song
Then married to a long island princess when this came out and now im thinking about the Cali girl 😎
Post Nirvana band that were so good during mid to late 90’s. They had a string of great albums that many have forgotten.
This is quite possibly my favorite song of all time. I was a sophomore in college when this came out and I immediately fell in love with it. For some reason it just resonated with me on a perfect level. The one I most remember is AM radio.
Everclear - “Father of Mine” and “Wonderful”. Both are surprisingly touching true stories at the lead singers (Art) life.
Everclear are from Portland. That desire for sunshine goes hard.
"Father of Mine" Everclear's biggest and best hit, IMO
I travel from KC to SoCal and back ever week for work. This is my pump up song to listen to while I'm waiting for the plane to take off! A real Banger!
So good to see you two rocking out to this. One of the great, great albums. Trust me, both of you would love this album.
Honestly, watching you two's genuine reactions to these songs have always put a smile on my face. Makes me feel like im jamming out with the music with y'all because you dint randomly pause the sing
Great song on a great record.
Everclear "Heartspark Dollarsign" "Father of Mine"
Amber's brother should have a guest spot on the show, sometime, and introduce you two to some of his favorite songs from his teens! 🔥🔥
❤Yes!! Ever Clear. Love them!! Takes me right back to the 90s
SUCH an underrated band! I couldnt hit the play button any faster. Next should be "Father of Mine".
Amber and Jordan you may like Everclear (AM Radio). Keep up with the good work 👍😎
Aussie 90’s - The Living End - prisoner of society.
Underated
Yesss!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
love Everclear, such a great group of songs!
I loved this band in the 90's! They have some great songs, and pretty different in terms of their vibe and energy- another high energy one is "AM Radio", kinda mid-energy is "I will buy you a new life", and a more in your feelings song is a big hit they had called "Wonderful". Great video, guys! I loved this band. Still have a cd of theirs in my car
I saw them, live. Love Everclear.
Everclear is the perfect 90's blend of radio-friendly edge!
Saliva "My Disease"
Saliva "Click Click Boom"
So happy that you've covered this!
I love the way it starts slow and just amps up till the end great song to get pumped up on
I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!! "Father of Mine" has to be next. Also, a great 90's song is "Living In a Dream" by Arc Angels (a band that features Stevie Ray Vauhan's rhythm section Double Trouble).

Red Hands is a must on my alt playlists. Walk Off the Earth is so amazing! They definitely deserve more love!!!
Overlooked band. "Heartspark Dollarsign" is a banger with a message. "Everything To Everyone" is another earworm.
Im so glad you did this song! I absolutely love this song and band!!
i was obsessed with this song in 1995 when I was 11. so catchy. the entire album "Sparkle and Fade" is great.
I was in high school when this dropped and I have to tell you the 90s were the absolute and best time ever. Ever ever ever!!! I feel so blessed to have been there. 💜🤘
After spending my teenage years in the 90s I just can't imagine living those years in any other decade.
I'm 46 now. The 90's were awesome for music!
Oh the 90’s… what id give to go back and party all over again!
I can sit and listen to this entire album with no issues. listen to it when you get a chance
I forgot about this jam until I saw your vid. Thanks for the reaction. I'm glad you guys like this one.
Wonderful, I Will Buy You A New Life, and Father Of Mine are awesome by Everclear
"Heroin Girl" & "Strawberry Burn"
90’s da best, if you know, ya know
First band I ever saw live, 96. Own all of their albums. So many amazing songs.
One of the greatest 90s rock jams!

Greatest hard rock decades are the 70’s and 90’s! SMASHING PUMPKINS NEXT PLEASE.
"What do you want?"
"Malibu. Santa Monica. Hell, how about all the coastal cities?"
(From the movie "Demolition man")
One of my favorite songs of the 90s! I sing this at karaoke.
That NIN reaction and this one too, yea, keep doin that
Doug Supernaw "I Don't Call Him Daddy"
Also, Touch, Peel and Stand by Days Of The New
As a teen in the 80s I didn't like 90s music so much (since I missed my 80s rock) but I actually appreciate it more now. It was good times....
Absolutely loved this song the first time I heard it.
Thank you so much for reacting to Everclear! I’ve loved them since childhood. I hope you react to more of them!
Everclear I believe is touring now. Saw them in Mississippi this summer. Still awesome!
Love me some Everclear!!!
Great song….. definitely was on the radio all the time back in the day
I lived just 8 blocks from the lead singers house when we were both growing up in Portland. He was a couple years older than me so I never knew him, but it was pretty cool seeing someone get out of my neighborhood and make it big, it was a rough part of town.
Saw them in concert years ago! They were awesome!
Trixter "Give It To Me Good"
My husband and I did our first full week vacation, just us, since our honeymoon (2004) the summer of 23. We were pleasantly surprised to find a music venue two minutes from our condo. We got to see Everclear Thursday night and Grand Funk Railroad Friday. Great week!😍
Saw Everclear at the Orbit Room in GR, MI. Played for 3 hours and let the kids on the floor all get up on stage.🤘
Great band from Portland, Oregon. I remember them being great live when I saw them many moons ago. Getting nostalgic for the 1990s.
"Fire Maple Song" is one of their best but nobody has ever heard it because it wasn't played on the radio.
Art Alexakis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2019 and has recently earned a degree in psychology
Great tune - as always I love your reactions!
"Father of Mine"!!!! ❤️
Oh yeah, one of my favorite 90’s songs and my daughter was little and would ask for the ghost song, lol.
Wow, I remember seeing them at the Electric Factory on this tour, met them a few times too, really nice guys. I LOVE how he is drowning in a house, says so much. I feel old now.
So many great songs by Everclear, but I absolutely love "Everything to Everyone" and "Wonderful."
Love the lines about swimming out past the breakers. I hope you Oklahomans can understand the meaning.
