They've grown a lot in popularity over the last two years, but they've been touring locally for around 5-6 years now. They are trained musicians and had a prog-jazz fusion band before (Astor) where Paco played drums and Ca7riel played guitar and sang. Paco's shirt shows an argentinean actor called Roly Serrano portraying Diego Maradona in a film. Unlike many opinions I've read after their Tiny Desk show, I love that they record and play different versions of their songs, this Tiny Desk version being the most jazzy and with a larger band. In their current tour they play with the keyboard player, the drummer, the bassist and the girl playing the sampler and backing vocals.
Native speaker here, they are kinda fun and cheeky. And they pretty much add to the experience of low brow lyrics with high brown musicianship. It's funny if you're not easily offended or easily embarrased.

2 weeks ago we were in the Ezeiza Airport (ARG) waiting for our flight and appeared Paco and Catriel to take the flight of American Airlines to Miami. My kids ask them for take a Selfie and without any problem Catriel took the cellphone of my daughter and he took the selfie for them. Really the simplicity and modesty of these guys is wonderful.

Currently, Roly Serrano is passing though a recovery process from a big accident car 8 months ago. Is one of biggest actor in Argentina and the Maradona's interpretation was marvelous.
They are extremely talented artists/musicians that had a band for many years and were flying under the radar so they decided to start making a mix of rap/pop/trap/etc kind of “commercial” music and became super popular… nevertheless this version of their band is their best sounding material as of now, this is iconic! It will always be mentioned amongst the top Tiny Desks ever!

Yes, they are quite known. However, the studio version of these songs are very different. They experiment a lot with EDM as a duet. The rearrangements they've done here are outstanding, they've kept the essence of their original songs but they completed reivented the sound and its vibes. Both fans and people who actually don't listen to them have loved this tiny desk concert.

I´m 52 but I know them and use to listen to, I love them. "para para para para" ,means "wait wait wait" people commnly say it when they are trying to understand something. When I hear someone telling "para para para para" inmediatly I say "tatuaje en el cuello" ( tatoo in her neck) like the song. With younger people the joke works bur not with older ones..

When I hear someone telling "para para para para" inmediatly I say "tatuaje en el cuello" ( tatoo in her neck) like the song. With younger people the joke works bur not with older ones..
Paco is the guy with the hat. Diego Armando Maradona (famous soccer player) is the one on his shirt. Fun thing is that they actually are more trap and electronic, the performance on the tiny desk is a whole separate thing from what the studio/record version sounds like. I'm Colombian so not too sure how popular they are in Argentina

1. The guy on paco’s tshirt is an Argentinian actor called Roly Serrano, he was playing Diego Maradona (super famous soccer player) on a Movie.
2. Only the guys with a visa on their tShirt are part of the band. The others are hired musicians (very good ones!)
3. The song is about a girl whose something is bouncing under her skirt. And he wants to see and make her cry🤦🏻♀️ (…I know!)
4. On this Tiny Desk, a phenomenon occurs: the music is incredible, but the lyrics belong more to the Underground urban genre. It has captured a segment of the population that normally wouldn’t listen to this type of music (people aged 35-40).

If you really wanna know what they're saying, the English close captions in the OG tiny desk video are really accurate, I (Mexican) couldn't spot any meaningful error in them when I payed attention to them for the first time (I was curious of how accurate they could be).
