I'm a wuss. Shot the new classifier for the first time last week. My raw time was 67 sec but down 28(19 on stage three). Gonna give it another go next month. Thanks for putting this together.
As a newbie in Cali, I'm jealous whenever I see practice all to yourself in a berm like yours. If I had such a facility, I'd be there every day. Where is this berm and what was involved in renting it?
Congratulations on your score. Very impressive indeed. I am new and I definitely need a lot more practice to get anywhere near your score. In our matches we are disqualified and not allowed to shoot for the rest of the day if our barrel is pointed at the sky at any point while at the shooting line. Loaded or unloaded. You did that 5 times that I could see on video. Do you know if that is an IDPA rule?
Hi is "rodralig" from CalGuns. You make it look too easy. Hahaha! I'm looking forward to my first classifier tomorrow. Would see - I'm still not precisely zeroed with the G34 (last time I shot is at 15-yds, it was requiring a 6 o'clock hold on the bottom of the black to hit the bull for an NRA-B8 target).
Just an update: my classifier and I made Sharpshooter in SSP (G34). Time is 120, inclusive of all those mindless malfunctions (forgetting to rack the slide, for example). Anyway - this is a good baseline for year #1. More practice on the way!
Cool video, I'm new to shooting sports but really like it. Good video, if your gonna do many more like this I'd get wireless mic and shoot further back. gave me hope for making Master.
When shooting at the barrels, your foot appears to be clearly outside where the fault lines are located in the latest version; have you tried shooting it with fault lines oriented on the opposite barrel, as shown in the latest diagram?
because to me, they targets aren't fully engaged when they've only been shot from the first position. for the classifier those are the same targets all the way through. they get scored 4 hits each, so they're not eligible to me for the newly legal reloads as they're not fully engaged after just the first shooting position. would that be way faster, of course. but i don't think it's the correct way to shoot the classifier. i could be wrong, but for this first example i chose to err on the side of caution.

Ben Quinata you get 3 dialed and you have it! you got it.
Rowdy, Thanks for putting this together! I'll be shooting the classifier this weekend with SDTS at Pala.
Todd Mao good luck man! shoot zeros!
Here from Eno's and subscribed. Thank you!
Thanks! Happy to have you!

that is a range rule and not an idpa rule. it is something i've seen before at other ranges, yes.
I did this today, shot it cold with glock 19 in 83 seconds and some change, still in the middle of the expert but along way from master class.
Good job! You made it look easy.
Nice shooting friend!

Great Vid, nice shooting. Thanks
Rowdy, what 9mm ammo did you use in your CZ? I'm running my CZ 75 Shadow SAO in a classifier Saturday. Thanks for the cool video!!!
Bob Curry i make my own ammo. some sort of 147gr projectile and titegroup for powder.
Thanks Rowdy. We are also running a 147 and Titegroup at 129-130pf. Automatic Accuracy brought me here and I also subscribed!
Orange Crush, did you have fault lines drawn? I couldn't see from the video. Good video. Thanks for the demo.
3631TACTICAL no fault lines down
Great job. I like the video
Is a missed head shot a 5 second penalty ?
James Pendley yep
once idpa has a finalized version up I'll redo this to the most current version. things changed since i shot this
good work..

Powerfactorguy not yet. i ran a guy today though and w the fault line it is different. i should redo it
How did you orient the lines? Pointed at the opposite target, or straight up/down range?
Powerfactorguy parallel w center line
what are the times for Master\expert\sharpshooter?
i don't see the proposed rules online anymore so i don't know
With the new rule changes why not reload on the move?

Gonna have to try this.
