He was immense in that game from the first minute he stepped on the field. The entire game changed and United actually threathed Bayern and pushed them way back on the field. While sheringham did work, the game changed when Ole turned on. Bayern had the game by its balls from the 1st minute until he got subbed on. And Ole is also heavily involved in almost all the big comebacks of united.

I honestly think the end of the Ferguson era changed the whole of English football and not for the better ! The overall quality in the EPL has dropped dramatically in the last decade, there used to be loads of truly ‘world class’ players back then which you don’t see nowadays. There are a lot of players in the top league that aren’t that much better than those in the Championship. There is too much focus on not losing as opposed to going out to ‘win’ and that means we’re lucky if we get 3-4 genuinely exciting, end to end games these days either.

There's certainly something about watching more teams produce decent football, but for me the problem is that teams have forgotten how to defend properly, and I certainly don't think the football in the 00's was less impressive than today. I also don't like the fact that sides that play City, Arsenal and Liverpool tend to set up to not lose heavily, and certainly not to win. So many times against United back in the day we used to see opponents have a go. A lot of this is the style of play. City play death by possession football, which other teams simply can't replicate. We need to see sides mix it up a bit. 4-4-2 and a couple of strikers, with wingers pumping balls into the box, it might ruffle the feathers more cos City can't be beaten at their own game.
The constant switching of camera angles makes this an awful watch. Also how could you miss 5-3 at Tottenham in 2001-02 and 2-1 v Sheffield Wednesday in 1992-93

I've actually got a United season DVD of the 2012-13 season that's a painful watch. Virtually every goal on it shows the build up in normal broadcast view, then it suddenly switches to a close up view from a different angle, or behind the goal. It totally ruins the highlights and the fact it's on an official released DVD is extraordinary.
This was the era of no football politics, Champions League, or no champions league in 2024, we are still the Godfather to all Eglish football clubs till heaven comes
