Thank you for this educative video. My question is on the plant used for the multiplication. What time (how many months) will the plantain plant/sucker be matured and uprooted for ex corm?
Ideally, it can be done from two to six months depending on variables such as variety, climatic conditions (temperature, soils, etc) and should be sizeable enough. However, we recommend that it should be when you can see the bunch so as to be sure of the variety of the plantain that you are propagating.
We are applying research results. PIF makes use of maiden and sword suckers. These are loaded with nutrients and ready to grow. You can try the one that has just produced the plantain already, but we think the results will be quite low.
Hi, thanks for your interest and inquiry. However, our subject here is focused on plant multiplication not on changing the behaviour of any variety into something else.

Can i use this technique on banana trees that are few at least 3 years old? Or this technique is only for young suckers?
It is best for sword suckers which are full of growth potentials. By using old suckers, you get fewer and fewer plantlets
Do you soak the corms in fungicide?
I am watching with your video from philippines
Does this technic work on regular Bananas?
Sure! Try it out please!
