      That one of the reasons I want to move to Cornwall, I’ve had many childhood and adult memories touring it. Apparently it’s very poor, I can see what they mean about tourists. I usually go around May for my birthday, it’s still very busy that time. Because there are so many tourists “there isn’t many shops that are useful for the locals” commented one gentleman who moved there to open a business. As long as the people that visit treat the area with respect, do not litter, and not rude and obnoxious. Mostly the beaches that tend to get miss treated with trash, it’s the same with any tourist area where some people just don’t know how to act and behave not like savages. I wouldn’t be surprised if that is a massive contributing factor, for their dislike of tourists. That and the ridiculous price for goods.

It doesn't have access to the improved quality of life that has been developed in the time since those places were built. @@davidmichael9034Yes, it is a word, as a noun - a depressive - it would refer to a person affected by or tending toward depression. Its use as an adjective is tricky. The best way of explaining it is by use of an example. Depression, as a mental disorder, is a depressive disorder. Such a person might experience a depressive episode on any given day. But it would be awkward to refer to the same as a depressing episode in a clinical sense. So the narrator's use of the word depressive is not appropriate. Let me try one more. A person who is a depressive experiences depression. A depressing person would be someone who causes YOU to feel depressed. Obviously someone you would want to avoid! Similarly a place that causes you to feel depressed is a depressing place not a depressive place. All that said, it is irritating - not irritative 😂 - to hear an American describe places in the UK he has never even visited.

      It actually works I think because as an adjective it means: causing feelings of hopelessness, despondency, and dejection.
      So you could say Aberdeen is such a depressive place.

    • @milliedragon4418
      @milliedragon4418 9 месяцев назад

      It kind of depends on how this was calculated, if it was calculated based off reported depression then yes it would be cities with the most depressed people. If it's about a depressed place, well I'm not sure about that economically speaking (not from the UK). If it's about whether it looks depressing or not. Well, I don't think any of these places fit that bill. If it's about 😂
      The depressing is rather vague here.

    All that was owned by the British people and ran for the benefit of the British people

    We are being farmed by the rich!
    75% of British water companies are owned by American corporations who have dumped untreated sewage in to British rivers and sea, For profit,
    It took ordinary people filming this pollution over many years for the government to act.
    And the water companies punishment is???

    Most of the the isolated or remote villages/ cities: will have both anti social and far right probs. Kent got them too. The winners for the best places to live; as a housewife & a mother; despite the crime rates ; after almost 3 decades in the UK are: central London, North Manchester and I would say that York stands out as the best small city in the North.
