This was awesome. Geraldine was always my favorite character, though I remember her more from later years, mostly her squabbling with Raven (which were always so entertaining!). She was fierce in the beginning, I'd forgotten how much so, but in this clip, she's very intense. I think they mellowed her quite a bit after she came out of her coma (after Noel pushed her down the flight of stairs in '75). She seemed much kinder in later years, though still opinionated.

At last, this is The Edge Of Night I remember as a boy and watched it every weekday afternoon at 3:30 PM after school. I loved this show like no other. I was terrified of Keith/Jonah...who when threatened was not afraid to murder even Nancy Karr if he could (though he tried twice and failed}. But it was Rosella Gray's horrible end that has stayed in my memory the most...because she was so happy that night undressing and climbing in Jim's bed and hiding under the sheets giggling as she thought it was Jim finally coming home to find her waiting and Jim would have to forget all about Liz Hillyer-Prentiss the way Rosella wanted...

I didn't get to watch the show back then. What happened to Rosella?

@@rhsharp Rosella was another Edge of Night spoiled rich daddy's girl without much maternal influence...pretty much like Jinx Avery and the way Nicole Travis was originally written...She was a dark haired beauty and madly in love with Jim Fields as was rich heiress but good Liz Hillyer-Printiss (sp) who had lost her husband Steve Printiss after he abandoned her...Keith as Jonah Lockwood killed Rosella by mistake... thinking Jim "Crazy Legs" (Keith's nickname for Jim in the Navy) was asleep in bed when it was actually Rosella naked and wide awake but hidden under the covers to surprise Jim. You can imagine Jim's shock when he came home and found Rosella murdered in his bed...to the sound of Paul Taubman's organ music that made this tragic scene very scary before it was snatched to black the way Edge did it in those days. I used to Love that quick cut!!! to black and the organ swelling of terror into the final commercial..I have forgotten though how Jim was ever cleared before all the truth came out...

Danny, this episode aired Friday, November 19, 1971: here’s the full recap.
    NOVEMBER 19, 1971 (EPISODE# 4,065)
Nancy worried about Laurie's involvement with Keith. Laurie realized Vic was so upset about her date with Keith because she and Vic already had theatre tickets. While discussing the past, Gordon credited Geraldine with the family's success in politics, then recalled the night he lost a crucial election and Geraldine commented at least she had two wonderful sons. Geraldine admitted she always wanted to be the mother of a United States president. Keith joked he may skip being a senator and go straight to Pennsylvania Avenue. Vic gave his theatre tickets to Adam and Nicole after sadly declaring Laurie prefers Keith over him. Nancy urged Laurie to break her date with Keith. Geraldine intercepted Laurie's phone call to Keith and was furious to learn about his date with Laurie. Enraged, Geraldine confronted Keith with his betrayal of the promise to stay away from Laurie. When Keith tried to worm his way out of it, Geraldine slapped him, vowing she will completely withdraw her support of his congressional campaign and no longer cover up his dirty little secrets...like the death of Suella Duval. Keith horrified Geraldine to her very core by asking if she would also reveal the truth about the deaths of Rosella Gray, Neil Davenport, Tango Humphries, and all the other people he murdered.

I loved when Geraldine said "KEITH". I remember watching the episode on Oct 28, 1971 when Geraldine slapped Keith.

I remember recording off of the TV. Remember when Geraldine caught Noel and Tracy making out in the mansion. Geraldine comes halfway down the stairs and sees the two of them and says "My God!!.". I thought that was the best.

I once wrote Lois Kibbee a letter and she wrote me back! I felt like I was getting a letter from an aunt.
