Keep in mind that the main purpose of these videos is to encourage congregational 4-part harmony singing. I record and mix these in such a way to help the listener hear parts more clearly. I urge you to listen with earbuds/headphones or true stereo speakers. Laptop and phone speakers are not only garbage for critical listening, they provide no sense of stereo which can be helpful while listening to these. Alto is slightly towards the left ear/channel and tenor is towards the right ear/channel. Soprano and bass are right down the middle.
If you enjoy the way that these hymns are sang and want to experience them in person, stop by just about any church of Christ and they'll likely be singing them the same way. Without instruments.
One of my trumpet player colleagues from my college days was able to join me for the soprano and alto parts on this one. If you'd like to hear more of her in the future, be sure to comment with your support! She'll see it. 😄
She has a beautiful voice!!
She sure does!
Truly enjoyed listening to her on this song! Makes it easier for me to follow the four parts with a different voice instead of you doing all four like you normally do. Thank you for your continued work and dedication to producing these videos!!
Jeff Fitcher , yes, a female voice helps sometimes. Elliot, have you tried lately talking your wife into singing with you?
@@jefffitcher6292 - I'll try to convince Alissa to sing with me again some time. Glad you enjoyed her voice! I've got one more I did with her called "Covenant of Love" that I'll probably work on next week.
As for following the parts, I try to remind everyone to listen to these with real stereo speakers or headphones/earbuds. Laptop and phone speakers will never be able to do the stereo mix justice that I strive for with these. Of course, if you're already listening with headphone/earbuds or separated stereo speakers, disregard this suggestion. Haha.... ( :
My Grandma and Grandad sung this to me everytime they came to visit and I learned the alto part to sing with them and now we sing them everytime they visit🥺
I know that this channel is neither Catholic nor believes in the veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary, but as a Catholic fan in your non-Catholic majority population of fans, I am most happy and truly grateful for adding in your playlist the prayer of Our Lady in laud and thanksgiving to Almighty God for being the womb who bore Our Lord, which many Catholics around the world pray as part of their Evening Prayer.
Magnificat anima mea Dominum: et exultavit spiritus meus in Deo, salutari meo!
Once again, thank you!
I'm glad you enjoyed!
Beautiful praise song! I've listened to it over 5 times already this morning!
I'm so glad you're enjoying the recording!
Beautiful 🥺❤️ praise to our father God 🥺❤️ our Lord Jesus Christ we love you father God ❤️❤️😭
One of my very favorites that we sing in worship (Woodland Oaks church of Christ). We have about 800 members so it will give you goosebumps. I sing base but one of my favorite parts is the tenor.
I've never heard this song but it's beautiful!
I like it too!
I sing it every week
Go to church!
It sounds so good at my Church Camp :)
Are you church of Christ cause we sing it like all the time 😂
Your friend has an angelic voice! Great job guys.
She sure does!
Utterly beautiful! I have never before heard this beautiful song of praise -- YES, we want to hear more from your trumpet-player colleague. And I heartily concur in your thanks to Randy Gill, who has allowed you to share this blessing.
Glad you enjoyed! She sure does have a fantastic voice!
It is from the First Chapter of Luke, when Mary is greeted by Elizabeth. In liturgical churches (Roman Catholic, Anglican/Episcopalian, Lutheran, etc.) it is traditionally used at Evensong/Vespers.
So beautiful! Thank you trumpet player colleague 😉. I loved this one guys. My favorite one so far! Praise the Lord.
I'm so glad you enjoyed, Ms. Marjie!
Wow. Great. I learned this song in Senior High School (Hope College-Village of Hope, Ghana). God alone is worthy. Holy is His name.
This is one of my all time favorites
Incredible. This made my day. Thank you. Please do more rounds like this! We can all sing along a part!
Wow! This is one of my favorite Marian hymns. Thank you for posting!
SO beautiful! I think it's so special when we can sing the Scriptures -- helps to remember it and give it added meaning!
Yes ma'am!
That was beautiful !!! Praise Jesus !!!
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit!
Never heard this before but it's beautiful hymn, I like the voices of "alto and soprano (WOMAN)" singing with you.
I'm glad you're enjoying this one! Yeah, Alissa did a great job. I'll have to bug her about singing more often with me when it works out. ( :
This is the first time I'm hearing this song. I absolutely adore these kinds of songs, and this will now forever be one of my favorites
Reminds me of Harding. Going back this fall and I’m sad chapel won’t be like it’s been. I’ll miss the singing
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you!!
You're very welcome!
What a beautiful hymn with heavenly harmonies and sublime female vocals
She really did a great job on this!!
Magnificent!!! I love the voice! 💛 Goosebumps
*magnificat ;)
Oh, this piece thrills my soul. PRAISE THE NAME of The ALMIGHTY GOD!
I love this song, it's my been favorite ❤
Mine too! I can listen and sing it over and over.
Simple, sweet, scriptural, beautiful. LOve it.
Just wow. I can't wait to play this for my husband when he comes home. Tell Alissa that the whole thing is just thrilling (you too, Elliott). :)
I'm glad you enjoyed Ms. Pam!
Wow, awesome. awesome 👏🏽 , Glory to God in the highest ..🙏❤️

Praise Jesus !!!
I'll let her know that she's been requested!
Can't believe I've been listening to this for so long (many times on loop ; ) and just now saw the request to comment if we want to hear more from the female vocalist.. YES! A resounding "yes", please :)
Always have enjoyed this. We sing it in church from time to time. Very much enjoyed the woman who helped you out. Beautiful voice. Bless you.
Yes! Alissa has such a great voice! Glad you enjoyed, brother.
Yes, nice to hear female voice. Thanks for uploading!
Amazing on the Magnificat! You both sound amazing and I loved singing along on the bass part. You should cover Nunc Dimitis (Simeon's Song).
I listened to it like 10 times...each time singinh a differenf part...wow...very cool combo
I'm so glad you enjoyed!! And good job working on the different parts. It's so fun, isn't it?!
Beautiful. Thank you 🙏👼🌸
Very nice. The overlapping voices kind of reminds of listening to "When Jesus Wept" in rounds.
While I enjoy playing all your songs, when I get to this one, it always gets put on loop for few.. so beautiful!
So glad to hear that you enjoyed! This ended up being one of my favorites as well.
So happy to hear your friend Alissa join you. I'm hoping you'll sing The Greatest Commands.
I was glad to have her join me for this one as well! I looked into The Greatest Commands as a possibility for her to sing with me and unfortunately, I don't think I'll be able to get permission from the copyright admins for that one.
Woke up this morning with this song in my head. Thank you for recording, I hadn't heard this until you posted it 2 years ago.
Way to go on this song sir thank you brother home run
I love this song it is so beautiful.
So beautiful
Wow, that is so rich and complex. Just beautiful.
It is a neat one!
A Cappella Hymns , and very scriptural. 😀
As a non-trinitarian, I still enjoyed listening to this piece. The folks singing have very wonderful voices.
Randy was my choir director in college ♥ He's a lovely man, and so his Mrs Randy ♥ ♥ ♥
Oh, neat!
I love this is song so much
This is the best version of the magnificat imo
Beautiful very nice❤🙏❤
What a beautiful hymn Glory to God
Pretty!😍
Excellent! Beautiful hymn.
Glad you like it!
A va mawi êm! Soprano leh Alto satu hi a aw a mawi khawp mai. 💟💓😍
Well done. Like how each harmony comes in. Reminds me of the hymn The Greatest Commands.
It is so very light
Beautiful and uplifting! Thank You!
You're very welcome!
Ms. Alissa Day, please do more hymns with Mr. Elliot! The tenor/bass combo has been so helpful for my male church members and friends but having a female voice has really opened the floodgates in our worship. Even if it's videos already posted or if you want to add a female part to hymns already posted that would be great. y'all are doing wonderful work!
Thanks for your feedback, brother. I have some plans to have more recordings with a female voice but it'll be a while before I can get around to them. I'm glad you're enjoying the channel!
Absolutely incredible
My favorite hymn! 💕
Beautiful! Yes, would love to hear more with the soprano :)
This is so gorgeous! Thank you so much! ❤
so sweet.......thanks for this sweet hymn
When tenor came in, I just can’t stop crying
Oh, I can't either!! I had no idea about the power of this prayer, though my mother did used to sing it. Every time, I cry, but they're tears of joy.
I had just posted Job 36:5 to MeWe when I found this. It dovetail so well with the tenor line.
A great arrangement that I have never heard before. What a blessing
Alto is so beautiful in this hymn :D
Great addition! Glad to hear your new recordings with female voices!!
Me too!
@@acappellahymns hi, I’m wondering if you would be okay with me using a recording of your beautiful song for my church. I attend Peace Lutheran in Seattle. Were focusing our midweek advent meditations around the Magnificant. I’m creating four short edited videos (as were unable to gather in person) that feature the Advent story, a short lesson, some pictures, artwork, and music. Your version of this song would fit perfectly.
@@laurabermes7370 - Any requests should be sent to email. AcappellaHymn@gmail.com. Thanks!
This leaves out some of the most important verses! The passage that beginns "He has showed strength with His arm. . .. " and ends with "Abraham and his seed forever."
I work with what I have. For this particular arrangement/composition, this is all that is available.
Additionally, it looks like the original prayer ends with - "Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be : world without end. Amen."
@@acappellahymns The Gloria Patri is a liturgical addition to make it Trinitarian. The Biblical text is Luke 1:46-55.
@@acappellahymns Fair enough; take a look in the Episcopal Hymal of 1982 at hymns ##437 and 438 or in the Service Music section at ##S185 through SS189 or ##S242 through S247. (437/438 is a metrical version, which also fits to the tune of "Abide With Me." As the Magnificat is traditionallly an evening canticle, this is a good alternative.)
This is a beautiful composition and brilliantly arranged. Great vocals all around. Thank you!
I'm glad more words popped up. I had been thinking to myself that the Magnificat was a whole lot more then one line.
Haha... I'm glad they popped up for you too. ( :
So Sweet! Thank you!❤
First time i hear there is a female voice. She has a very nice voice
I've had a female voice on here a few other times as well. But I'm glad you enjoyed!
I wish we sang this in churches these days.
Church of Christ does
Splendid.
Alyssa Day sings like an angel from heaven.
She sure does!
So good! ❤
Gorgeous! Love it!! ❤
How lovely!! Thank you, Carla! Merry Christmas to you and all!
I don't know who Carla is but you're welcome! And Merry Christmas to you!
@@acappellahymns My apologies! Thought this came directly from my dear sister-in-law. Beautiful music, such as this, completes my celebration of Christmas! Thank you!
@@marykerr5976 - No problem! Merry Christmas Ms. Mary!
Yes dear trumpet player friend your voice is so sweet. More please dear trumpet player friend.
Do I know you?
@@acappellahymns No you do not know me. I listen to your music regularly and am greatly blessed by it. I have good taste and a good ear in music I believe.. I love singing though not particularly talented. I find it very helpful to have words to sing to with music. One day I. hope for a song or two with you in heaven. I suppose you will have long queues for that. I did enjoy the female singer voice very clear and sweet and noticed your suggestion to put it in comment if I wanted to hear more of her and yourself. I used friend in Christian sense of word rather than secular usage.
I wish the tenor had more lines ... I loved it
Good work
Thanks
You're very welcome!
I am rocking rocking on the ocean waves Christ the crucified will still the waves 🙏
Love this, thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this...💞💞😇
