Hey sugar, any time you want to add a little flour or cornstarch at the end, you should mix it in a small glass with some cold water and drip the water in, This prevents the flour/corn starch from lumping.
A bag of potatoes would be cheaper, taste better, and make more meals. I'm not trying to slam your choices, just share some info you might benefit from. Im pretty broke, so I try to get stuff I can stretch into a few meals. Fresh potatoes are still pretty affordable and a great belly filler. They're also hardy and easy to grow if you have the means to do it. Food is always cheapest, freshest, and tastiest when we grow it ourselves
