A bag of potatoes would be cheaper, taste better, and make more meals. I'm not trying to slam your choices, just share some info you might benefit from. Im pretty broke, so I try to get stuff I can stretch into a few meals. Fresh potatoes are still pretty affordable and a great belly filler. They're also hardy and easy to grow if you have the means to do it. Food is always cheapest, freshest, and tastiest when we grow it ourselves

Hey sugar, any time you want to add a little flour or cornstarch at the end, you should mix it in a small glass with some cold water and drip the water in, This prevents the flour/corn starch from lumping.

Don't let the outside of the bag of frozen vegetables touch the ground meat, that's nasty! I like what you're doing with easy, everyday ingredients easily attainable off-the-shelf spices, and unpretentious cookware but let's don't be gross. As a tip, I would like to share, try browning the ground meat and adding onion and garlic powder until it has that really good beefy taste before you add it to any recipe. More flavor is more better. It's just that simple.

(As a side note, because the baking time is so long, there is an option to cover the baking dish with foil when you first put it in the oven, and then remove the foil for the last twenty minutes or so of baking to melt the cheese on top. 80% or more of what they bought is prepared, fast food and convenience foods. Everything they bought is very high in sugar, fat, calories and sodium. Junk food. I am 75 and have never bought most of the foods in their basket. Look at all the packaging for landfill. Horrible diet. This is what you eat and feed your family? Cook from scratch. Where are the fresh fruits and vegetables?
