Hi! I've never heard this polite way to say no. I learn continuously from your great videos things that are important in practice. Here is an example: - Could you borrow me some money ? - I'm afraid I can't. God bless you!
I always say this word no when someone asks me to do something. I realize that is not a good word, but I don’t know what is the best way to express it. Thank you Mark for this lesson.
Hey Mark. I'm always kicking myself for not subscribing your amazing English channel sooner cause you really bring out the best in your English learners plus your teaching style is very unique just by showing us around your neighborhood and teaching us useful daily English vocabulary and phrases well, that pretty much sums it up. Thank you so much for doing this lesson. Take care and hope you're having a great rest of your day.😍😍😍😍😍
My name is Boudou and I am from Mauritanie. I would like you to make a video to explain these 2 phrases to us " something over something " and " to leave someone sink or swim " and please give us more examples of use. Have a good one. I love your channel.
Hi mark, that’s a great way to say no to someone, and I have heard it before, and thanks for making all these awesome videos , and teaching useful phrases, I appreciate it, hope you have a great day , take care 😊
Hi Mark, there is my example: -Let's go to the club for a drink -I'm afraid I can't go with you. I'm busy on studying English through watching Mark's video.
I am afraid It's a standard cliché which is used, I think, in many languages. For example, in Russian we say: БОЮСЬ ; Bulgarians say the same way: БОЯ СЕ
This way of polite refuse absolutely coincides with the same Russian expression. You just need to exchange the English words to Russian equivalent words
Hey, Mark. Thanks for this lesson. But I'm afraid I can't understand one thing. Could I use frase "I'm afraid..." with "yes"? For example someone asks me: " Why do you so sad? Anything bad happened?" and I answer: " I'm afraid, yes. My favorite crocodile was eaten by cow." ))) Is it correct? Thanks and good luck!
