My expectations were low but holy shit......
So it's been 3 years and we barely have the same amount of maps as BASE BF4 AND LESS THAN A FRACTION OF THE GUNS.
So... Hourglass1, Hourglass2 (stadium), renewal, the new map (literally forgot what it's called), stranded, and flashpoint... Why are there so many desert-ish maps?? Did we forget about city style maps? Like imagine a map similar to Chicago in TF3dotm. That would be so cool!

Despite there not being a single player campaign for bf2042, there is a lot of lore to it. Every season is a new chapter in the story and the deserts/maps are just for role playing. So that's the justification. With that said, I would love a cyberpunk or Tron aesthetic-like map at night with occasional rain. That'd be awesome

Many MANY maps take place in a desert BF 1, BF 5, BF 4, BF 3, BFBC2, 1942, you people are just becoming more and more pathetic with trying to hate 2042

@@JayCord00 I've played a fair bit actually. BF1 was my first (and my favourite) which I guess is a later start, but I've played ever since, with a bit of BF4/3. But what Ur saying doesn't really make sense. Yes there have always been a lot of desert-ish maps, but there were more maps in general then compared to 2042. There's only like what 15 in total? That's over a third. I like them, but when a third of the maps are desert it gets quite boring. And as well, that doesn't make the map bad at all, it just feels boring.

My expectations were rock bottom, yet DICE somehow managed to not even deliver on that.
just another plan to make the next title be more delicious as they'll just have to produce a product considered mediocre which will be viewed as great since you've been fed dog water before.
I mean, what did you expect? I expected no new flags and we got two. Not that they deserve a clap on the back but your expectations are not at rock bottom.

Bf2042's movement and stuff (idk how you call that) is not made for naval combat. As you can see, when you go into water, it feels very glitchy and you can't even dive. So I think it's good they didn't make a naval map but still, how can you make the movement so not-battlefield like. Just bad development choices
The MAV is aquatic but you never really get to use it. So much wasted potential in this game.
Where’s the dedicated sniper map? What’s with the lifts that only go to 2 floors?

I asked for a naval map since the beginning. There is working water, boats and MAV in the game (Arica Harbor) and yet naval battles and map is non existant.
Considering what I saw on Ekwah's video (yes, there is already gameplay footage of Stadium on his channel), A1 looks very protected from most sniper positions you can have on HQs
Snipers are going to have a field day when the new map drops.
No jet skies or water map. :-( I feel like I was sold something that I was never going to get :-(

The final "map" looks like it is 70% of the worst part of the stadium, the parking lot , who could of imagined that... typical Dice.

Whatever game you are planning to buy? Don't pre-order, not a triple a, not an indie, etc. Do the old school way. Wait for the review because they used to come out first, then buy based on that. These days that means more the amateur reviews but so be it.

I'm not a Stadium enthusiast but it looks 'fine'. Time will tell how it plays. Hopefully they add it and Haven to the custom editor in Portal, I'll barely see those maps otherwise.

I personally love A, as a point.
Considering i HATE meat grinder maps, IE the new indoor map, metro, etc, having other locations outside to push, and flank around is perfect.
The reason i hate grind maps, is lack of flank. In the newest grind map redacted ther's only 4 main lanes, middle, the 2 sides, and a slight vertical flank. when you have 32vs32, half of the enemies are just sitting and camping each flank, making it just a lucky push to get through.
with open maps like my favorite map of 2042, Haven and Orbital, theres so many options to push. So many different buildings, or covers, or unique locations to push and own.
if the map was just the stadium then personally, I probably wouldn't play it much.
like currently, whenever Redacted is played (like 90% of the fuckign time), i just back out and wait another 3-5min to get into another map.
I personally think Redacted is the worst map of the game.

I have never been happier to have not pre-ordered a game. If you give them your money before they deliver a product then there is no incentive for them to give you a quality product.

I found it unusual too ( I don't play BF 2042 for information ) but it seems like a continent that isn't exactly featured in many or any FPS games so I guess it ain't all that bad but it doesn't look much different than that of the Middle East.

I've been playing since BC2 and been an avid fan ever since. but 2042 has been the most dreadful excuse for a Battlefield title. to think this is a "live service" is beyond atrocious. the lack of content is unimaginable and just a blatant cash grab from EA and Dice. yes, I will blame the developers too. going back to see Battlefield 3, 4 and 1 with all the DLC and passion put into those titles, then to pull a "Call of Duty" and release unfinished games with half the previous content knowing it will sell with the Battlefield name is nothing short of sickening. With the atrocities of 2042 and V. I will be very curious of what EA and Dice pull off for the next title... they need to listen to the players for this next title or else it will be too late.
I wish BF2042 had sledgehammer games devs with the amount of content they’ve produced in such little time compared to Dice.

I look forward to maps without vehicles. Vehicles never bothered me too much in the previous battlefields because the maps were made well, although stuff like attack choppers have alway sbeen a problem, its never been as bad as thery are in this game. The maps lack creativity and are basically just open from objective to objective and thats when youll be dying to vehicles. Haven is fun, its a little ratty since it still lacks the destruction that other battlefields have but in the infantry playlist its quite fun, hopefully this will be another map where vehicles arnt jkust dominating the game and ruining the fun.

I miss the old layout for the Stadium, not every location for a battlefield map has to be militarist.
For a better Stadium rework, remove the dunes that cover the back of the stadium. Add food courts, accessible bathrooms, rich people booths, soccer field that holds a hospital camp covering the field. Add a cable held Jumbo Tron that can also crash onto the tents below if cables where shot and snapped. For parking lot, copy and paste the kaleidoscope gazebos and add 18 wheelers and civilian cars.

No, most of us who played for a while have already played Stadium and knew it was not anything new. It was also teased in December and spoken about a year ago when Hourglass was divided.

This is the only relevant playing area from the launch map. You arent missing anything from any other part of the stadium other than literally 1,000,000,000 spots for beacons. Good that DICE cut it.

This map is so sloppy they should have made a sloppy naval map with islands instead.
At least it would provide new gameplay and some crazy action on the water.

i said it once ill say it again , this current dice have no fucking idea how to make a good map, the map layout looks fucking horrible and they have cut off like 60% of the dam stadium, should rename this horrible remake sundance grenade central bf4 33 maps, bf1 29 maps. BFV 22 maps BF 2042 13 + 1 remake ( stadium ), this is not including the portal maps from previous BF games added to rotations this is new maps only, kind of sad how bad its getting and lets not get started on the vehicle difference lol

I think a lot of perople are projecting previous/already existing issues with Battlefield and EA/DICE into the Stadium map. People share very strong feelings against the game for good reason but I think it is unwarranted for certain things. The map itself looks great I think. The unmet expectation of wanting to play inside the field of the stadium does not make the map a crappy map. The map isn't out yet so I think we should wait for the launch and see how it plays out. With that said, no one can ignore the issues with the game in the past 2.5 years. The game isn't perfect, and it should've been at the current state at launch, but it does a lot of things right. Hopefully, BF7 is the game we all deserve.
