I love this developer. They may not have the biggest budgets or the most resources but other than their first horrible mistake of a Rambo game, they have shown they absolutely *love* the IPs they've been handed. Their Terminator game was clearly made by the kinds of people we wish were handling the movies, and this is spot-on.
Wait this was made by Teyon? I know they made that pretty good Terminator game a couple years back but I didn't know they made this. This is like genuinely amazing stuff,no one else has bothered with older IPs and they've managed to make something that's actually genuinely impressive. I can only wonder what they could pull off if they were to have a chance to make another Rambo game now with all their experience
@@vito7428I've always wanted a rambo game similar to the old farcrys back in the 2000s early 2010s. It could be set during rambos time as a green beret in Baker team during the Vietnam war.
@@Crom_smite_you That would be cool to see. It can also cover and expand a crucial but seldom covered part of Rambo's story,on how he became who he is throughout his experiences in the war
Same devs made Terminator: Resistance not too long ago, which was an absolute banger! These devs definitely show that they have love and care for the IP's they're making games of. We need more of these kind of devs.
For those of you too young to remember the original RoboCop movie, it was and IS amazing. Paul Verhoeven's masterpiece. I was 8 years old when it came out, and my parents let me watch it on HBO. Reminder that they had to tone DOWN the violence in the release version to avoid an "X" rating, which was the highest rating you could get in theaters at the time. I'm just glad to see that so many young people like Charlie are loving RoboCop, decades after the series came to an end.
when i was younger my mom let me watch the original Robocop movie, and she only had seen the tv released version of the movie (which had a lot of the violence toned down through editing) when she was a teenager. surprised us both watching Robocop get blown apart limb from limb
RoboCop was my childhood favourite movie. Starship Troopers when I was growing up. Verhoeven movies at their peak were just too good. Also both movies had incredible soundtracks by Basil Poledouris.
I was right around the same age possibly a little younger when I saw it the first time. I still remember exactly what happened. I was eating a red popsicle and made it to the scene where they blow his hand off. I was so grossed out and scared that my parents forbid me from watching anything over PG for years. My mom was pissed at my dad for letting me watch it, and he was like I’ve never seen it, I didn’t know that was going to happen! Definitely a core memory.
I've played through this three times. As a long-time mega Robocop fan this feels like a love letter written to me from a long-term crush. I love this company and their passion for the IP's they are making stories for.
The love they've shown for both Terminator and Robocop shines brightly through both products and I will absolutely take that over a bloated AAA title any day. While I'm sure they'd love to do something original, I hope they never stop making these sorts of game sequels. Just thinking of everything from Blade Runner to a return to form for Aliens Vs Predator in their hands makes me happy. An earlier commenter thought they'd be a great match for a Dredd game with Karl Urban and that would quite possibly explode my mind.
@@BlazingOwnagerI still can’t get over how much of a glow up Teyon has had since the Rambo game. RoboCop, Total Recall, Starship Troopers.. let’s just all agree that Paul Verhoeven had his signature touch with these masterpieces!! Underrated sci-fi guru, right up there with Ridley Scott and Luc Besson!
He was correctly-rated with RC and TR, those made $$$ at the time and were never forgotten. ST... I'd argue it was up there in the trinity, but it lost money at the time.

It's sad that we could have probably gotten a rambo title in the same vein as these games but I am glad they got the opportunity to redeem themselves
Definitely, I played through Terminator: Resistance and it's DLC. Pretty average on the gameplay and graphics, but they really try the best with what they have and you can tell playing the game that they actually care about and respect the original movies. Which is a lot more than I can say about modern Hollywood.
Those guys really learned their lesson with Rambo The Videogame, that Terminator game was solid, this one seens too. If they keep acquiring those 80's action heroes licenses i would love to see a Die Hard game from then.
From what I remember there was a lot of issues behind the scenes with Rambo, like then owners of the franchise and not enough budget. Matt McMuscles had a video on it. Their Terminator game was solid and they are still supporting it. They seem like they really care for the franchises.
a die hard game done right would be awesome, but the fact remains that we wouldn't be able to hear Bruce Willis' voice, given the health issues he's been dealing with recently
It is so fun. I found it funny with some of the people in the Steam discussions being like, "Who is this for and why is the game this." And then they just describe Robocop.
7:37 the idea of this walking death machine mowing down 40 dudes, taking a casual look around, and whipping out a notepad to stick a parking ticket to your car…
Something I am immediately impressed by: you can feel the recoil of the guns really pushing against you, yet you're a fucking machine with an iron grip, ofc it's gonna barely bounce up, if anything at all. Some really nice attention to detail there
The scene in the original robocop where the dude gets melted by the toxic waste legitimately scarred me for years as a kid. Which is funny bc now I love the franchise.
I watched it when I was little too lol *Born 2005* I remember being 13 watching the movie for the first time and seeing that part it gave me a "WHAT THE FUCKKKKKK"Type of reaction lmao.
I've been unironically rocking double A games for years now. Always an interesting time if not an amazing one. These guys made that dope ass terminator game recently.
It's shocking that it actually looks like a good game. I would love a new Predator game that is similar to Predator: Concrete Jungle from the OG Xbox and PS2
The catch phrase you were looking for was: "Dead or alive, you're coming with me!" Alex Murphy, before he died, would say that. It's a vestige of the man in the machine, much like the gun twirl.
Played through this last night and had a great time. Really excited to get the full game and they pushed an update today that fixes the shader cache issue so it shouldn't stutter anymore.
The scene Charlie speaks about is a scene from RoboCop 2. The main antagonist uses surgical tools to cut open a corrupt cop working for him while he's still awake as a punishment for failing.
To be honest for a demo I think it’s really good. Also, there’s something about the classic 1980s movie music during a first person section that just is golden to me.
The hero's shooting scene before he is turned into Robocop was probably the most disturbing scene of the original Robocop movie . And i think one of the memorable lines of Robocop movie was "You're under arrest" .
The ultra realistic crap is the cyberpunk metaphors and parallels to corruption within the military industrial complex, housing, politics and capitalism as a whole 😎
@@AW-cv8nfcope with what? I don’t think anyone was necessarily anticipating this game, but it’s just like hey, it doesn’t suck but doesn’t do anything great either. Just a decent AA games for fans

@@TheGamerdude125 Modern shooters OUTSIDE middle east war or generic western terrorist shite, we've not seeing them often. The dev's last work was also decent Terminator game. @@victoriazero8869 Dude, you misread my point. I was saying the game doesn't have to be ground breaking or innovative even, just to be a good game with clever design. Games have always had bigger companies trying weird wacky mechanics only to flop, And then smaller companies making use of more simple yet fun game design, nothing new honestly.
whats interesting with the game aswell is that it appears that its going to actually have narrative choices, since one of the skills trees you can upgrade lowers requirements for certain dialogue options and at some points you'll be able to see which options are favourable and then you can also lower the thresholds for choices regarding the main characters, so most likely your choices will determine who lives and who dies and how the story ends, atleast thats what it appears to be showing
Terminator Resistance had something like this too. I'm betting the more you side with the law, the more robocop will identify himself as such. the more you help the community, the more he'll identify himself as murphy, like at the end of robocop 1. That would actually be really cool, to have an actual resolution to that plot thread that basically went absolutely nowhere after the first 1
When I was playing this and shot for the first time seeing pieces of wall and stuff fly off, I immediately knew we were in for an action-packed good time.
How bout alien vs predator with a campaign were you play as a predator and a multiplayer mode were one side plays the alians and tge other the predators
Damn, the Robocop devs really just came outta nowhere and said "buckle up" then went in no lube to give us an amazing looking Robocop game this is something I never thought I'd see.
And just as a quick reminder, this new RoboCop game is being made by Teyon. You know, the guys who got stuck making that shitty Rambo game? Look at how far they’ve come. It’s honestly quite nice to see
The gore kinda reminds me of Fallout. I've been playing Fallout 3 recently and this game's violence details are very similar. Just with higher graphics and it not being as goofy when the corpse explodes.
The chest cut scene I think was from the second robocop film with Kane taking revenge on a police officer that snitched. In the first movie there's a famous scene where he shoots through the dress of a woman being held hostage into the guy behind making a groin shot, I wonder if they've added that in as an achievement. I'm also wondering if they'll have the hand spike (which in the original movie also doubled up as a sort of usb plug), and the large cannon that's used at the end.
Dead or alive, you're coming with me! I'd buy that for a dollar! Also I love the original movie music, if it's really in the game and not just a demo placeholder, that's awesome. Basil Poledoris should be canonized as the patron saint of movie scores.
its actually very good, has a real big 80s feel to the world, and full of grit. Literally the perfect game representation of the first movie. Runs great too
The scene of the bad guy getting his chest cut open scared the fuck out of me. I just remember the woman telling the guy "You said you were only going to scare him." And the guy with the blade replied "Doesn't he look scared?" Fuck that shit.

Terminator Resistance was the best thing to happen to the series since T2. Absolutely loved it; we need more Double A games.

I'm just glad to see that so many young people like Charlie are loving RoboCop, decades after the series came to an end.
shit even if you are too young it is still a banger. it still holds up
I was seven when it came out, eight when I saw it. It’s still my favorite movie at 42.
when i was younger my mom let me watch the original Robocop movie, and she only had seen the tv released version of the movie (which had a lot of the violence toned down through editing) when she was a teenager. surprised us both watching Robocop get blown apart limb from limb
They took all the criticisms, all the negative reviews, and used them to save what many people would expect to be a sinking ship of a developer.

Definitely, I played through Terminator: Resistance and it's DLC. Pretty average on the gameplay and graphics, but they really try the best with what they have and you can tell playing the game that they actually care about and respect the original movies. Which is a lot more than I can say about modern Hollywood.
Devs from Poland, it's a good sign. Projekt Red also is polish, and they make good games (mostly).
The jank animations and physics arguably adds to the charm and 80s nostalgia
Those guys really learned their lesson with Rambo The Videogame, that Terminator game was solid, this one seens too. If they keep acquiring those 80's action heroes licenses i would love to see a Die Hard game from then.
Somebody get them the rush hour franchise license before jackie chan sells his literal soul to china for a wheelchair!
From what I remember there was a lot of issues behind the scenes with Rambo, like then owners of the franchise and not enough budget. Matt McMuscles had a video on it. Their Terminator game was solid and they are still supporting it. They seem like they really care for the franchises.
A Big Trouble in little China game would be the GOAT.
a die hard game done right would be awesome, but the fact remains that we wouldn't be able to hear Bruce Willis' voice, given the health issues he's been dealing with recently

The scene in the original robocop where the dude gets melted by the toxic waste legitimately scarred me for years as a kid. Which is funny bc now I love the franchise.
