    Ever since the sisters taught me how to make birria I have used it as the basis of many recipes. I made enchiladas with it and created the enchilada sauce by thickening the broth with cornstarch. My 83 year old Mom doesn’t love leftovers, but she’ll eat tacos one night, enchiladas the next and a quesadilla made with this beef the next (by then it’s pretty much gone). One of the most useful recipes ever!

    This was delicious! I made your instant pot birria tacos and the next day made the casserole with the leftovers (just used an 8x8 since I didn’t have a ton of meat) and was sooo good! Don’t skip on that birria chili oil either! It’s like a cozy spice hug for your tacos and cassarole.

    I'd love to try this recipe.
    I'd like to try it with the jalapeno pickled carrots, instead of plain carrots.
    I think the little bit of the pickling flavor from the pickled carrots would add not only a little spice but a slight pickle taste would really go well with all the flavors in your recipe.
    What do you & your sister think about adding them instead of just plain carrots Cloud?

    You can also spray the tin foil with Pam or baking spray and the cheese won't stick! This is a must try recipe! YUM!

      @@Viewsontheroad when I made the birria tacos it was indeed a hit. I have your channel saved under its own. And see i noticed you was out of birria chili oil. Well I took your advice I keep some piling my house and I also hydrate and dry the peppers and blend them and keep some always in a condiment jar so I never have to wait to dry them and blend them. Lol this wait making the oil takes less than 10mins.

    A mi nunca me sale como mi madre la cocinea--- i guess we all have our own specialized technique in how we stovenize our foodencia--but mine never looks as juicediera like yours!!!! OMG!! my parents have Jalisco and Culiacansero de pertenimiento, and I always ask for the family recipe and for some specific reason my parents never want to guidanizeme with their recipe!!! OMG!!!!!! It's like they want me to experience on my own!!!!!!!     Birria tacos look so good; I've never tried them but always wanted to. This casserole version looks like a great way to introduce my family to birria. Thank you! Also wanted to say if you're using regular foil, you can spray the side that goes on top of the casserole with cooking spray to help keep the cheese from sticking. Or you can place a piece of parchment paper on top and then cover it with foil.

      (From Jon's wife): I would use jackfruit instead of king mushrooms which tend to be of a slimy texture when cooked. I appreciate you thinking of a vegan option. That's how I eat.

      @@jongrenon2596 I can't eat jackfruit. Mushrooms can be slimy but it depends how their cooked. To just cook them up fast, yes they would have that texture. If you shred and bake them first, you can change the texture. The process takes longer but it's definitely worth the extra step. It's not something I do all the time. More for a special occasion type of dish. For those who can eat jackfruit that's definitely the option I'd recommend. It's certainly faster to cook with that.

      @@jongrenon2596 its a slow process. You have to bake it on a lower temperature and keep checking them. Definitely worth it. If I figure out a faster way to do it I'll let you know.

    I recently discovered your RUclips channel and really enjoy watching the ease of your cooking demonstrations. A Mexican Take Out establishment in my neighborhood closed and I was hoping that you have recipes for the two dishes that I miss the most. One of these dishes was a basic baked spaghetti with spices that gave it a Mexican flair and the other dish was made of potatoes and chorizo .
