this game deserved so much better. i didnt even know of the v8 arcade until recently and was like oh shit i gotta get that. then looked up gameplay and was like ouch. v8 and second offense were ahead of their time.
I remember being so excited for this game back in 08 and being so disappointed that Slick Clyde(My favorite character) never made it in. In hindsight though, I am glad he didn't. Who knows how they would have ruined him if he did?
I remember being excited for this, then buying this on XBL Arcade, playing for 10 minutes and then never touching or thinking about this game again until this video.
What I don't like from this game is to unlock Y the alien you need to find the artifacts In every stage So that means you need to blow up every little thing inside the stage
V8 Arcade could have been a better game and this one looks worse. More time for the reelase could be the best option for improve this game. -V8 Arcade should have been cross-platform (Also for Wii, PS3 and even PC) -Lack of content (Vehicles and characters are missing); as well as taking advantage of adding more vehicles and characters from Interstate 76 & 82. -Horrible and simple interface (In the original titles, there was a Radar-style interface design.) -Lack new music (Why are there themes from V8 2nd Offense; if it is a remake of the first game?) -Lack new features and many DLCs. It doesn't convince me at all.
OK, so I didn't miss anything. Crater maker was my favorite combo. If they ever try to revive this franchise again, Twisted Metal 2012 is what they need to pay attention to.
I am very sorry that this game was not re-released in high resolution on new generation platforms, with clearer and more detailed textures!!! At least on the PS 3, not to mention the 4th or 5th generation PS! There is not a single game even close to this great hit!
I loved playing this game back when I had a 360 and in my opinion the vehicles feel like they needed more weight. They're light like a feather and the physics are different, the voiceovers for the characters are not good in this one either
Personally, I actually liked V8 Arcade back when I had a 360. It was also around the time when I no longer had a working PS2, and I wanted to try and relive the nostalgia of the game. In fact, I wanted to see how far I could get for killing enemies in the leaderboards for Hard difficulty I could get, all without dying even once.
i thought I was the only one that could never land anything with houstons special in arcade but then again no one and I repeat no one played this game online when it came out
personally i really don’t like the damage model of v8 arcade where the parts just fall off and nothing else, i prefer the kinda “2-stage” gradual damage thing they did with the first 2 games
Fully agree. It's just awful in arcade. Look up the damage models for the Dreamcast for v2.. they look soooo banged up even compared to the other versions of it.
@@bradb3723 dude for real, i have every version of v82 and the dreamcast version is definitely my favorite bc everything looks so clean, especially the car models the stock xanadu rv is borderline unrecognizable when fully damaged in the dreamcast version, ends up looking like a torn up cardboard box lol
Thanks for the review man. I was actually considering getting my hands on a 360 just for this game (since its a download, dunno if there's a rom for it) but it aint worth it! ❌
Happy April Fools Down Under. TBH I was kinda wondering how you'd keep it up for 15 minutes when you were already cracking at "they make perfect sense" at 1:28. At least the Cathartic rant was still worth clicking on this for. And seeing some of the unlockable skins for characters (which it weirded me out to learn you can't change their colours ala V8:2nd offence, despite having recolours for enemies?) Also any chance we'll get a fuck around video in Star Wars Demolition some time? Or still a ways to go before we're scraping the barrel THAT hard.
8:34 Slight I76 spoilers but Loki in an APC MIGHT make more sense when you finish I76. But it's still a dumb decision but HEY, when Clyde is completely AWOL and two of other characters are DLC who CARES? I wonder if Clyde was meant to be DLC as well but never got the green light, but not like that'd save this shit show.
Other than Xenia emulator, not sure it ever came to PC. Strange because Hydro Thunder Hurricane can be played on PC via Microsoft's store. You'd think after buying Activision we could've gotten some more love for the V8 series, but I guess not.
4:02 I don't know why, but ¡im know than the first minutes you are being sarcastic!. Is impossible say any good about this game later to see than you fall from a ramp to the hollow map and see than the car almost always go upside in every turn.
they couldnt just remaster 2 great games could they? wouldve taken too much effort im sure. and they took out fan favorites, very bad move. funny how my playstation gets touched more than my 360. couldve been different but they made their choice.
Three game is straight up unfinished just look at the health bar it’s just a tube without any border or design and the cars don’t get damaged pieces of it just fall off metal doesn’t bend or twist glass doesn’t shatter
The game was bad, but it wasn't terrible beyond repair. They poorly executed it. If they had tweaked the physics and graphics for damage models, it could have been awesome.
Can’t believe it took me over 90 seconds to realise that this was satire lmao.
I forgot it was April fools but knew it was satire from the start, this game deserved such video.
Well of course you knew, you and I did nothing but shit on this game for weeks on end.
@@TheRealDownUnder hahaha
@@TheRealDownUnder So the physics r like helium compared to the first game?

Yea just discovered it today and tried it, dang this is jank lol.
I really wish series like Vigilante 8 and Battletanx could make a comeback by passionate folk that want to make them as fun as they used to be.
"by passionate folks" and that is the key. if it doesnt have its ps1 charms itll be ruined by modernized garbage.
@@godw1ll99 I was referring to the N64 versions, but same thing.
@@BeeWaifu yea maybe i should have said "ps1 era". there is just a certain satisfaction with how games were made at the time.

Give him Jelly Suspension like it was Carmageddon's OK Stimson
Never liked that they killed him off in the sequel, he was my fav. I just pretend 2nd offense ending isn't Canon lol.
This had so much sarcasm even Dr. House was inpressed.
this entire game can be summed up with one word, blasphemy.
The physics were bad right?

Damn he really had us in the first minute

Ikr? Actually had to look up RUclips for that too.
Glad I never had an Xbox cause I would have jumped on this day 1. My cherished memories of V8 remain untainted.

V8 1 & TM 2012 the ultimate in Car Combat!

The big reveal at the four minute mark was pretty funny though.
Vigilante 8 Arcade the game that helped kill an awesome franchise.
bec its not same people who made 1+2
@@giovannigiorgio2262 Just 2... No Goodrich, Toth or Engleman. Engleman went into film special effects then disappeared according to Dave. I asked him

props for having 4 minutes of video being comically positive about Arcade, it gets really tiring to believe in the script that hard, i can tell lmao

You even occasionally get to drive under the map.
Said Brun's special move is the worst one in this game They just gave him the frame thrower from the 2nd game
How’d you get the classic Torque skin?
Beat a characters quest and you get the classic skin for use in arcade mode
