Tremendous Capital City!. Visitors quickly realize of the rich history, culture, architecture, art and lifestyle. Mexico City is just fascinating too much to explore and discover. Mexico has the largest number of world heritage sites in the Americas recognized by UNESCO, at least four within its capital. Nice vid!
Absolutely Luigi great point!! Love how clean and organized and well-landscaped everything is in Polanco. I haven’t been back to WEHO for some time and I’m sure it’s only gotten worse like most major US Cities. Thanks for sharing your thoughts here and for watching! 🇲🇽❤️
Actually there's only a few "homeless" in Mexico, yeah you might see drunks or druggies here and there, but at the end of day they all go to some place they call home.
Great tour with maps! Chill and easy to follow. Good energy. I like how you not rushing and freely browsing the neighborhood. Interesting, very eurocentric for sure. I visit family in San Luis Potosi, mexico every year and love going to DF too. I've never been where you're at but it looks interesting. I'll subsribe. Coffee shot looks great!!! Look forward to more adventures!!!
Thanks for the feedback and for subscribing, my friend!! I love doing the laid back vlog style videos and am so glad you like them!! Much love from CDMX! Definitely visit Polanco next time you’re here in DF if you get a chance. 🇲🇽❤️
That’s a great price William! When was that and was it a studio or 1bd with its own kitchen and bath, or did it have shared spaces? Thanks for watching and for sharing here my friend. 🇲🇽❤️
Polanco is exactly like Yorkville in Toronto. That is also where all of the Hollywood stars stay when they come here (and where steaks are also $300! Lol) So are you guys planning to move permanently to CDMX? Side note, I know you don't make videos about yourself, but it would be nice to learn about how and when you two met! 😊
Interesting! I don’t think we will make this a permanent home (I’ve never been a fan of living in massive cities for too long) but we are taking it a day at a time and might stay a couple of months to give it a chance! I love that you asked and there’s a beautiful story behind how, when and where we met!! I just shared your comment with Ana and she agrees, we’ll share that story in an upcoming video! Thanks Jiji! Hugs from CDMX 🤗 🇲🇽❤️
Funny you should mention that!! In the next video that’s exactly what I do 😂. I’ll probably upload that on Sunday…I ate 5 plates and I think they regret letting me in for $183mxn pesos haha 😆. The quality was amazing. Thanks for checking out the video my friend 🇲🇽❤️

I always avoid comparing cultures or cities. Saying something 'doesn't look like Mexico' implies that only certain places can appear or be a certain way, while Mexico can't, simply because it's Mexico. I know some people don't mean it that way when they say things like this, but it's often the underlying thought when they express similar ideas.
I’ll do a full video on this soon… short answer is that I made it a 3-5 year goal and put almost all my effort and free time into and immersed myself as much as possible. Duolingo, conversations with native speakers, movies and music in Spanish, even went back to college to take 101-103. But more on this later! Thanks for the great question William 😎
Polanco is peculiar, a sample of contrast, but not interesting. I wouldn’t waste my time in malls but in breakfast in a Xochimilco’s Chinampa or Mercado de San Juan. Traditional Mexican Seafood? El Danubio, pricey. There are four houses (apart from Frida’s), Rivas Mercado’s, Luis Barragán’s and Guillermo Tovar y de Teresa’s, Indio Fernández’s , among many others. The Mexico City Historic Houses Tour is almost unpublished.
Sería bueno que pudieras poner traducción al español en subtítulos, para que sea más fácil de entender, yo soy mexicano pero poco entiendo en inglés. Es solo una sugerencia. Gracias.
Nice video bro, I can tell you did a little research before going to the neighborhood (the observation that Lomas would be Beverly Hills) and I appreciate that. Btw I like Mexico City a lot more than LA with all due respect. Greetings from Guadalajara and welcome to our beautiful country 👋🏻❤️🇲🇽
Alex, let me start by saying thanks for the warm welcome! I completely agree that CDMX is better than LA in so many ways. The safety and cleanliness in some of these neighborhoods is next level! I’ve enjoyed my time living in coastal cities and towns like Puerto Vallarta and Playa Del Carmen, but CDMX is special in its own ways and I’m happy and blessed to be here! Thanks for checking out the video my friend 🇲🇽❤️
Hi, I'm watching your video, and there are certain things you mention that are not necessarly true....first its true that lots of foreigners are now living in Mexico City and Mexico as a country as well, so some neighborhoods are very " gentrified" such as Condesa or Roma, BUT Polanco is not the case...now that you are here you are going to learn about what Mexico really is, and not only what Hollywood always portrays about us. Polanco residents may look foreign to you, but they are not, they are upper middle class mexican families with diverse origins, Jew, spanish, german, lebanese, etc.... We are a melting pot as well and of course they will never show that on american or european media, they are only interested in crime and false or inflated bad news statements overall. One thing that is true though os that Unfortunetly Mexico's social disparities are huge but you will learn in this trip that those who are upper middle and upper classes live even better than in the USA, and yes they look european but are mexicans as well, it is a very multicultural country which surprises a lot of foreigners because the lack of knowledge of this country in general. Louis ck, mexican by the way, mentions this in a podcast to let people understand the real diversity of ita southern neighbors. Anyway, talking about other things, if you love parks a MUST visit will be Chapultepec Castle and Park, beautiful. Other parks to consider are Desierto de los Leones which is not only a park but a national park, 15 minutes car time from Parque La mexicana in Santa Fe neighborhood which is also beautiful. If you visit the south of the city Los viveros de Coyoacan will be a very nice huge and quiet park to stroll plus it's a Beautiful neighborhood, while you are there walk all the Francisco Sosa street, houses are colonial style and it is full of huge trees, recommended. Also visit San Angel and its cobbled stone plazas and streets. Welcome to Mexico city, enjoy it, it's unique ❤❤❤
Excellent info there my friend. Thanks! I love Louis Ck and should definitely revisit his podcasts and catch up. We did go to Bosque Chapultepec our first day here and absolutely loved it… felt magical in some ways and the air was fresh compared to walking La Reforma etc. thanks again for the great tips. 🇲🇽❤️
🤣🤣… well to be fair we aren’t living in Polanco, and I left Portland .. even more of a cesspool 🤢😅. I’ll probably eventually end up back in coastal Mexico in a place with fresh Huachinango and cleaner air than CDMX. Thanks for watching my friend! 🇲🇽❤️
I love the views but can't really stomach the commentary and comparisons to US and European cities. It's obvious and even understandable that you would gloss over what Mexico really is when you come from places where culture is a transaction.
right?! I was enjoying the video but hearing comments like “it does feel like a break from Mexico…” or “it feels like you’re in Europe” is so tone deaf. Polanco is Mexico, too. Mexico can be both.
The old feeling of the buildings that you like are very Spanish, very European like Spain, Portugal and Italy and not Mexican. They were built by Europeans.
For reference, Mexico’s independence was in 1810. Polanco was not built until the late 1930s. It may be european style, but I can’t find reference that it was built by Europeans.

@@theropemonster As an American of Mexican heritage, I understand the sentiment in Mexico, especially regarding gentrification, which I’ve been following closely. It’s a feeling we also experience here in the U.S. when people from out-of-state move into our cities, driving out locals by raising the cost of living. This isn't about a specific race-being American isn't synonymous with being white, and Europeans today come from various racial backgrounds. From what I’ve seen, Mexicans don’t hate foreigners coming into the country. What they dislike is the lack of respect for the language, culture, customs, and the failure to contribute and assimilate. Even when it comes to food, there’s frustration-like with "gentrified tacos" that lack spice. The term "gringo" nowadays doesn't necessarily mean a white American; it can refer to anyone who is American. So, it’s not about being against white people or Europeans; it’s more about a broader issue with American nationality and the diversity of Europeans coming and gentrifying. West Hollywood might be the Polanco of Los Angeles. Notice there's no homeless, panhandlers, or trash in the street

It’s definitely worth considering if looking to live in CDMX! Thanks for watching 🇲🇽❤️
Thanks for mentioning my city Scottsdale Arizona greetings and blessings I'm from Mexico City
Absolutely! Love Scottsdale and used to live and work in the area.
a good stakehouse I'd recommend is Archiebald, at the JW Marriott hotel in Polanco, a new spot with great cuts and ambiance.
Sounds like it’s worth a visit! Thanks for the tip, hadn’t heard of that spot!
It was 2021, and it had 3 bedrooms, so I had 2 roommates, a nice bathroom, and a kitchen. It was great .
I would even say Bosques de las Lomas is even more expensive than Lomas de Chapultepec. Also Santa Fé district could be the Arizona/Dallas of Mexico.
And Reforma the Champ Elysees of Mexico City.
Great value add there my friend! Many thanks 🇲🇽❤️
Yeah, I had a room in Condesa for 6 months for $500 and it was amazing. I was in the best Neighborhood.

You should visit parque la mexicana in santa fe, great skyscaper views too, it's beautiful ❤
I think I’ve had at least 4 or 5 comments recommending that park and colonia so I’ll definitely be heading over there! Thanks for the tip!

A really good video would be Sunday brunch at Lardo. You can interview all the good-looking people who will be outside waiting and inside is cool.
Great idea William!

Like Condesa way better
West Hollywood is the gay area of Los Angeles. The gay area of DF is Zona Rosa. Polanco and Avenida Mazaryk is the Rodeo Drive of CDMX.
