That’s my favorite park! I live close in that area in Portland. I’m in SE on hawthorn street. I moved here in August. I love Portland, mainly for the food. The food is incredible and healthier choices. I’m within reach to everything I need and even more. I’m very happy with where I live in Portland. It’s beautiful especially in the fall.
Portland also has a lot of creativity and the arts, and entertainment which is another reason why I moved. Added to that I was able to find a space to rent in a big house that has 3 to 4 floors for only 600 a month. That with being on the street of hawthorn with all the food and entertainment on that street. I can’t complain.
I moved from NE Portland in April. Moved over to Beaverton in Washington County. It's such a difference over here! There are very small pockets of vagrants and crime but it's nothing like Portland/Multnomah County.. I was here 2 mths before I even saw a homeless person! My car insurance actually went down $40 a month when I moved. Portland is a sh*thole.
Glad you found a better spot my friend!! Long ago I also lived in NE Portland and it was rough back then… now it’s borderline unlivable. I get super depressed even visiting the area. Thanks for checking out the video and all the best to you!
Portland has gone downhill with high crime and drug addiction. Move out to the suburbs where it’s significantly safer. It’s sad what’s happened throughout the city.
Man, you are mobile😅, just keeping up with you is a head spinner. I'm glad things are looking up in your home town. There is always growing pains in life and new laws are no different. As always,,good content and vibes from you. I'm in Mexico City right now, enjoyed Dia de los Muertos in Amecameca with views of El Popo.
The question more than anything would be if you see yourself returning to your hometown, if you imagine yourself settling down and having a life there with your wife, since sometimes priorities change as we mature and learn from other places as we travel and stays in other cities or countries, the needs change according to our mental and physical growth, in addition to the fact that we always look for the best options to live in places where we are happy and feel comfortable. PS Portland always been one of the cities i always thought was the best for people and who everyone wanted to be there as u mention many in Cali are moving there recently but yes the places looks great and that neighborhood looks great. Cheers and excellent content .
Hello. While I truly appreciate your walking tour of my neighborhood (life long), I have to tell you that when you are south of Stark Street, beyond the arches you showed, you are not in Laurelhurst any longer. Stark is the southern border of Laurelhurst. Thank you
You have to realize being in Roma for us as Americans. We have more money than the average Mexican . Now for a cal teck graduate who works in a 7 or 8 figure career, his view of those 750 to 1 million is the same as when were in Roma .
Forgot to mention that I am in 2 neighborhoods Neza and Granjas. Technically Neza is a city within THE City. But definitely not gentrified areas and not as glamorous as where you were. I have family here so that makes it nice.
Family is everything and more than makes up for the lack of glamour. That’s the only reason I ever come back to Portland… spend quality time with family and then get back out 😎🇲🇽🏝️. As always, thanks for supporting the channel my friend, abrazo y saludos a tu familia!!
@graceg3250 Nezahualcoyotl is arguably the largest part of Mexico City, it is east of the airport and on the north of the city. Granjas is about 5 minutes straight south of the airport and super close to palacio de los deportes.
Exactly. I think a big issue that I don’t hear people discuss is the asset managers like Black Rock and State Street along with Berkshire buying up all the single family homes and manipulating the market. Not much we can do about that unfortunately. Except live in Ecuador or Mexico 🇲🇽❤️🏝️. Thanks for supporting the channel as always my friend!
I hear the F slur on a pretty much daily basis in Portland. Personally I don't file that under better. I'm witnessing the difference between liberal/permissive and truly progressive. We have to think about prejudice, discrimination and bigotry.
WOW ... I used to go to Portland back in the late 80's and Bellingham WA Had great restaurants and bookstores, lot of activity Things went downhill for years after that but it looks like it coming back UP now That is a good thing, I can relate to the NW, we think alike ! Unlike the SE, Florida etc- that sucks totally now, headed into the toilet I'D move to California, have family there, lots of blue collar jobs too
Thanks for sharing that my friend! I have also considered an off-grid property in Northern California… at least for part of the year. Definitely a positive to see things improving here but I’m just not ready to live in the US again and might never be! All the best to you and yours and have a beautiful holiday season 🦃❤️
Welcome home! I left a comment a while back that was personal, unprovoked and mean spirited…and I’m sorry. 🌲
Thanks my friend, no offense taken! ❤️ 🌲
Where the Grimm series was recorded, each place more beautiful than the other, the houses, I'm in love with.
Yes!! Loved that show! The scenery and neighborhood is definitely a vibe. Thanks for checking out the video!

I agree it’s turned into crime ridden crap hole.

Welcome back to PDX. Your last video made it seem like you'll be in the area for awhile. When ya heading back to MX?
Thanks Frank, much appreciated. I don’t think I’ll even manage to stay until Thanksgiving… missing sunshine and volleyball too much already 🏐🏝️😭🤣

@@frankmclaughlin1749 you’re the man!! Thanks 😎. If I do go out it may be in the Hawthorn area… love the dive bars 😜 🍻
Steering wheel clubs don't do anything...all they have to do is cut through the steering wheel and it slips off.

Looks like a cool place but like the rest of the country you have to be rich to enjoy it and to buy a home. At one time those house were affordable.
