Thank you for the very thorough intro to Fresh Paint; I was getting a bit exasperated trying to figure out everything on my own. Oh, and I could hear you just fine.
Thank you for the video. It was helpful for me. Today is my first day trying Fresh Paint and so far I learned quite a bit about the basics that I needed to know to make my first painting.
Hey there, the greyed out options as well as trim canvas (in new painting menu) only work if you chose import photo option and lets you manage what you wanna do with it.
+TheRubicj Good call! At the time of posting the video I hadn't imported a photo or image so that feature was unknown to me. Thank you for the feedback and viewing :)
Really disappointed simply because I cannot hear the tutorial - I have turned the utube video up to 100% as well as my surface volume up to 100% but sadly still can only just at a major strain somewhere in the far off distance hear bits of this tutorial --- very sad as I know it will be informative and of much user to me .... any advice or another channel I can try?
+Sunny Phillips Hi Sunny, really sorry to hear that. The audio is a little quieter as it was my first try at a youtube video and was using my mobile phone to record the audio. However, I am listening to the audio back now on my surface and it is more than audible even at 30%. Check your audio settings on your surface and see if the default volume is set to low. Hope this helps and you can access the video fully soon.
It's audible but not comprehensible for me, with system & RUclips volume both at 100%. You know, at a volume where any other video leaves my ears bleeding.
It is rather low sorry about that, but I can hear it fine with volume turned up on my phone and laptop. Will be recording using different equipment in future so will ensure the sound is well up. Thanks for the message.
You should record with that in mind. Some people will be listening/watching on: phones, laptops, tablets, desktop computers. Some may have sound systems. Compression is your friend m8.
Bless you I did just that and on my surface pro I have narrator running - now de selected certain tick boxes and can now clearly hear your tutorial --which I have to say is most informative and helpful . Having already played briefly with the app I was still unsure of a few buttons -- your run through has sorted all questions for me so many thanks ☺Also as an artist and oil painter I agree it is an amazing app indeed- looking forward to getting going now. ---one further question is there an option to add fonts(I know that's an odd question) -once again thanks for sharing.
+Sunny Phillips Hey again! So glad you got it all sorted and could hear me and thank you for your comments and feedback! Hmm fonts is something i'm pretty sure freshpaint doesn't offer yet unfortunately. I am using another digital paint programme called Artrage a lot at the moment which is amazing too and that does have the option to use fonts on your paintings. I will be making more videos soon so watch this space. Thanks again :)
Thanks for the video. Mine is not going fullscreen since my device was updated to W10. It's working as a regular program, with the top bar and the taskbar visible. Do you know why? Thanks.
+Matheus Moreira Hey there no problem. I believe this is to do with the app becoming a Windows 10 universal one and so opens more like a desktop programme rather than a windows 8 full screen app. Just make it full screen and switch to tablet mode to get more screen space to work on, or in settings you can choose to hide the taskbar when in tablet mode I think. Let me know how you get on.
Hi, love the tutorial....but is there a way to stop the paint/brushes selection returning onto the screen every time I touch it? keep trying to paint round it lol.. sorry ive only just acquired fresh paint.
It's strange as although a little quitter than usual it sounds perfectly audible on my computer and phone, but I know some people have struggled with it. This video was done a while ago and I now record with different equipment so all audio on recent and future videos will be much louder and clearer. Sorry about that David.
ChewyWolf hi there, yes the circular icon next to the fan is a colour picker. Select it then hover over the colour you want and it should select that on your brush.
+Phil Galloway Draws Thanks! Also, is there a way to use layers? I notice they are avalible on the default paintings you start off with but how do you create them on your own?
ChewyWolf not that I know of, though I haven't used FreshPaint for a while now so it may have updated since. A workaround is to dry the paint with the fan and paint on top. Not ideal I know and one if the reasons I had to switch to Artrage as my go to paint app. FreshPaint is amazing, but sadly a little limited in areas. Let me know if you find out if it is there now. Good luck and happy painting!
+Jason Fowler I believe so Jason. I use a local printers for my finished pieces, but I know a few folk who used that option. Hope you've found a solution and sorry for my late reply.
It is frustrating that you have so many nice explanations, but I cannot see your mouse, which means I have no clue which button or icon you have just pressed...
Many thanks for your comments and sorry about the cursor not being visible. I will look into my settings on the screen capture for future vids. I hope the video did help in some way despite this. Phil
Thank you for your quick response, Mr. Galloway. It was just a really good video except for that... I hope that you make another, better version, considering that no one else has yet.
Sorry about this Alex, some have found it quiet whilst others have said its fine. I know I couldn't be too loud for fear of waking up the kids but on playback it is fine for me. Will ensure videos are louder in future. Thanks for the feedback! :)
Sorry you feel like that, you should possibly stick to videos under thirty seconds of length or if it's just the talking I feel the quiet work of Marcel Marceau may help. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I will try and be swifter and talk less.
Many thanks for your comment, I do apologise talking over an otherwise silent video and trying to help people who are new to the app. I will bear your feedback in mind and stick to soundbites of information with no personality in future. Hope you did gain something from the video though, I look forward to seeing what you create.
Yes sorry about that a lot of people do it and i just want to know about the product. I'll go back and have a look at the whole video. Thanks for getting back to me.
No problem Nikki, hope your paintings are going well!
I was floundering around w/Fresh Paint previously. But your tutorial helped immensely! Thanks very much!
No problem at all, thank you so much for your comment! Hope you create some digital Masterpieces :)
Thanks so much for taking the time to post this video! Beautiful work BTW.
Thank you so much so for very very late reply!!! I'm back on RUclips now 🙌
the button that looks like layers is a community button. it also shows up in the leaked Microsoft paint UWP
Once again thank you for the information share and I look forward to future videos - thanks ☺
thanks for the video....did you say that it has layers that you can turn on and off?
It was very difficult to find where you were pointing or referring to. Thank you though for your time and education
Do you know if a custom paint color swatch, I make, can be transferred over to a brand new canvas/project?

+Phil Galloway Draws when you record with xbox app on win10 you can also record your voice , that feature need to be enabled in settings.
It's audible but not comprehensible for me, with system & RUclips volume both at 100%. You know, at a volume where any other video leaves my ears bleeding.
The volume of my speakers is up. Your audio is to low for me to hear. Sorry.
It is rather low sorry about that, but I can hear it fine with volume turned up on my phone and laptop. Will be recording using different equipment in future so will ensure the sound is well up. Thanks for the message.

Sage words, thank you. Still new to this RUclips lark!
You're right, the volume is too low. But happily, the closed captions for English work remarkably well.
how do I prevent my hand from drawing on the canvas please?

Great explanation. Thanks!

Can't find/there isn't a select function.

AAHHH got it! thanks :-)
turn up the volume please!!!

What equipment is needed for fresh paint on your windows 10? And are these equipment expensive?.
Hi there, FreshPaint Is a totally free app so all you would need is some form of touch screen pc/laptop /tablet running Windows 10.
Okay, thanks a lot*!*
is there an eyedropper (color picker) tool?
ChewyWolf hi there, yes the circular icon next to the fan is a colour picker. Select it then hover over the colour you want and it should select that on your brush.

Is Canvaspop printing gone in this version?
+Jason Fowler I believe so Jason. I use a local printers for my finished pieces, but I know a few folk who used that option. Hope you've found a solution and sorry for my late reply.

is that Jeremy Corbyn playing the lute at the start of this vid??? amazing lookalike
It was indeed! A rough study for something that never fully got started!😂 Good spot
can barely hear this
So sorry, audio set up in new videos is far better now
Window and tools look nothing like my version of Fresh paint on windows 10 . Not helpful.
Sorry this wasn't helpful Janet, it was posted over a year ago so could well be a different version to the FreshPaint you are running.
pls speak up my volume is 100 and i cant hear you with the ac in the background
Sorry about this Alex, some have found it quiet whilst others have said its fine. I know I couldn't be too loud for fear of waking up the kids but on playback it is fine for me. Will ensure videos are louder in future. Thanks for the feedback! :)
got chu
why you whispering?
New videos have far better audio! So sorry
Those are not crayons.....those are oil pastels. Not really intended for children....
do you enjoy listening to yourself talk? why don't you just step through how fresh paint works. you lost me after 30 seconds
Sorry you feel like that, you should possibly stick to videos under thirty seconds of length or if it's just the talking I feel the quiet work of Marcel Marceau may help. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I will try and be swifter and talk less.
Too much chattering - just get on with it. Not interested in your voice, your dog what you had for breakfast.

I don't think you should pay any attention to people being critical. I appreciate any effort you make
