I resonate with this one so completely. Thank you to Nicole and Jenna for sheding light on why we can feel so disconnected from others. Your personal experiences and examples really helped illuminate how feelings of disconnection (and reasons why) show up in our lives, and how we can move forward to connection. I realize how much I've felt disconnected from people, not letting them get to close out of fear. And at the same time desperately wanting to have deep connections with others. I'm happy to know that I'm on the right track with continuing to check in with myself in a given moment and, as a people pleaser, not just "go along to get along." Thanks, as always, for bringing in your own lived examples - past and present - to show how the work "works" in real time. Appreciate you both.

It is so good to see people open themselves up not only infront of the entire world but especially in front of their partners, shows the kind of grounded trust and honouring one has not only in themselves but also in their partners.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my RUclips channel 9 months ago about self development. Now I have 1,584 subs and > 1,000 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

I think shedding tears while watching this video is healing in itself. Thank you. I felt heard in my experience especially pushing others away that love me deeply because I feel disconnected from them all the while not taking into account how I may not be connected to myself.

Nicole, this was absolutely incredible. I can relate to this so much that I think I feel more. Connected to the two of you right now then anyone else in my life.

The insight these women have on childhood Trauma and the ways Trauma manifests itself in not only our minds, but equally importantly our bodies is unequalled.
The way that they communicate it is just so “on point” relatable, and easily understood.
I love them for opening me up to the truth of why and how I developed unhealthy attachments and coping mechanism in order to survive, by sharing their own stories and experiences. I like myself a little bit more today because of them!

I am so grateful for the amazing wisdom you share. On this specific topic however, I see that you talk about isolation and disconnection while having a partner or family members or other people around. It's like it is given for granted. What if you are really alone, your partner has died, your parents have died, you have no siblings or other family members, and friends have disappeared when things went tough (for me)? I'm really totally alone, I don't speak with someone for days, I go out for grocery shopping and few other reasons and ... I'm in Italy, no one knows here what "doing the work" means, therapists just know CBT (I've wasted Money and time with many of them, just to feel worse and broken). .... and I've learned that healing is a process that you can't do alone, everyone needs someone to co-regulate with .... I feel hopeless

I struggle with being surrounded by people who think that tweeting and posting IS reality, IS relating. The corollary to that is that they feel ACTUAL conversation, full frontal connection, is unnecessary.

As I listened to you both I could relate more to Nicole’s experiences growing up etc. If I wasn’t around other people I’d feel very alone. I didn’t enjoy my own company. Since doing some healing work for the past five years I have learned to enjoy my own company. Now I’m at a place to go deeper and ask myself what I really want like Jenna mentioned.

I thank you immensely for this content..Because I isolate I bounce between what is wrong with me and I don't feel anything is wrong. Others don't understand this behavior..I resonate with all you have said..I feel after isolating I go "back to society "as my authentic self not how other people have shaped me and made me feel like an alien to myself..not sure if that made sense but it is how I feel

I already did a review on Spotify a few weeks ago, where else can we do a review? Jenna, I can relate so much to your need of evading yourself, run away or just spend time alone. Now, I am not on a running away mindset, because I am quite in a peaceful and safe state right now, but I do have this visceral need of spending time alone. When my daughters go to spend 2 days in a week with their father, that's my time, where I can do whatever I feel to do, I peace and Silence and I really enjoy to be on my own. And true, we are never alone, there are So Many Higher Beings around us, guiding, assisting, protecting us. Life is Good. 🙂💜🌟🌸

I think this episode can be confusing from a personal responsibility/ independence vs relying on others' perspective.
Disconnection within a crowd of people can mean you don't belong with that crowd or you don't feel worthy enough of belonging to that crowd.
Disconnection with your new friends or date can mean you don't feel like they are the ones you really wanted to choose, or you don't think you deserve such love and warmth around you.
Here the line between latent self-sabotage through purposeful disconnection or disconnection due to previous patterns might be confusing; it is for me, at least.
Hope this helps someone get nuance.

Is this a reason for social rejection, as well? Or is that another topic and has other causes? I would have loved if you can talk about this in some later podcast. Great information! :)

How do I know if the urge I feel to get out of a relationship is coming from my inner self who needs a safe space for healing or from my ego as a flight mode coping mechanism?

Trying to understand...needing to be alone to find out what I need And also I am never alone cause I have me? The idea is by understanding what I need I can seek getting it either from myself or by being authentic with another by sharing my needs.

What if I feel like I am super selfish and I shut down when people express feelings and needs and yet I am such a people pleaser. I am struggling between feeling disconnected because I need to connect to myself or because I need to listen to other people more and show up more in order to feel connected.
    I am very confused.
