Faeburrow Elder is a nice card man, and it pretty much exactly paid for the pack

Those cards looked pringled coming out of the pack.
Throne was the first to introduce collectors packs and really started the terrible pringling issue. IMO it's a Canon event that started the modern era of Hasbro pushed WotC product.
@@orocamionHour of devastation was when the Pringle’s became standard. But ok make up whatever you want.
@@bigdamiji started playing magic with the release of Shadows of Innatrad. Didn't have curling. Next set was Eternal Masters, cards were visibly bending to the naked eye within 10 mins of opening a pack.
Just saying thats the earliest ive seen the curling problem start up.
@@weseiseman5602 honestly the last good card stock was onslaught. Before the boarder change. After that quality dropped set after set. I agree it did occur often. Hour of devastation sparked the community investigation because the drop was so so bad.

@bigdamij I definitely did enjoy it. To this day it's still my favorite. Although the deck isn't too good, I love feeling of getting a Thing in the Ice to flip.
Even though you'd get fewer rares in the ELD collector packs than in the ones from later sets, at least you could actually understand what was in them. Everything after M21 requires an excel spreadsheet to understand the contents of.
It was also nice that the premium versions of cards from this era actually held significantly more value than the regular versions because they still weren't so easy to get. We got a brief glimpse into a world where game pieces were affordable for players (abundant normal printings) but collectors could still count on their extended art foils and showcase cards holding value.

My first collector pack payed for another collector pack, a prerelease box, and 6 set boosters and then I was hooked on magic lmao. I got really lucky with that first pack lol

I don't get why faeburrow elder is expensive
It's just the extended art foil. All the other versions are like $3-$6
3 mana dork that makes 2 mana but can make more in some decks is exactly what commander players want
Because it's pretty strong card in 3+ color commander decks. Without anything else on the board it's 2/2 with vigilance with ability to tap for 2 mana. It's already decent for 3 mana and with more things on the board it's just gets better and better.
