Glad I watched this video yesterday. I went to local thrift store and first thing I saw was a Yonex racket sitting next to the carrying case for $1.99. Then dug in the basket further and found 4 cool ashtrays for $.99 each. I would have left them all behind if I didn't see your video. Thanks for the info.
I remember when you could smile I'm Mc Donald's. My friends hair caught on fire once she had so much aqua net in it ! Another friend was light a smoke next to her and the flame jumped to her hair ! Man I miss the 80s !! Remember the little Metter throw away silver ones they had on the fast food joints?
As someone who smokes the green stuff and knows others who smoke cigarettes, lots of smokers LOVE vintage/unique ash trays, and many of us will actually use them! I have a buddy who collects cool/weird ash trays and he uses every single one! They are very easy to clean up, so there's not much harm in using even rare/expensive ones.
The fish decoy was used for ice fishing. They put it on a line (no hooks) and put it through the ice and jerk it up and down while you stand above the hole with a spear.
ERTL made muscle cars through the early '00s that were metal. I collect Pontiacs and have an extensive ERTL Firebird collection, 1:64-1:16th. I have quite a large collection of ERTL 1:18th Trans Ams that were released in the early '00s. Watch for especially the rare ones like the '73 Brewster Green 455 SD ($200+ in box), 77 Bandit Trans am ($250+ in box), 77 Martinique Blue Trans Am ($150+, in box).
In a spray bottle mix up a little Dawn and alcohol and spray those prisms in the dirt should just run off and you can dry them. I cleaned houses and that’s how we clean those old chandeliers but of course you have to put plastic down underneath of it
I cant find most of these items at goodwills near me, in fact most of the thrift stores are completely dry here in southern california, since everyone is a reseller or owns a "vintage shop" .
Interesting stuff. My I had no idea find was old typewriter paper the kind that’s called onion skin. I bought two boxes at an estate sale for $2 I sold the first box for $75 the second for $60.
Always happy to see your vids pop up - I procrastinate on my photos and listing to check them out. LOL The irony is not lost on me. RE: shipping the long/tall ashtrays: you need to watch how long the box is now if anyone does decide to go with priority. My husband promised priority on a car part, and it was just a little too long. The USPS has a new thing where if it's over a certain length, they charge an atrocious amount extra for PMail. Good LORD. The charge was more than the entire price of the transaction. He had me give up and take it to UPS. I warned him about switching shipping services without letting your buyer know, etc. and he said he didn't care, etc. It went for a much more reasonable price with UPS and I didn't hear anything evil afterward.
I really commend you for sharing details that average people would covet. I dont remember the McD's ashtray but I did work there in the eighties and recall lots of memorbillia that would be worth alot today. I will look into that and other restaurant mems. I had been looking for a way to make money from home. I'm a young senior of 62 and want to supplement my social security. A quick question: would anyone get in trouble for buying an item on Ebay then reselling it? Thanks for your time.
I have one of those heavy stand ashtrays from my grandpa. Can’t wait to sell it! It has an amber glass ashtray in it. Thank you for your videos . I’m new here.
I find a lot of carved wood ducks but nothing really cool like a duck decoy. The McDonald’s ashtrays are insane, I remember those days! I like these videos!
Some of my best finds have been at the community shed at the Transfer Station "Dump" we like to call it the Mall around these parts. Found a box full of Rokenbok Toys and Ertl Tractors there. Great video Keep up the good work! Subscribed!
I was in the unfortunate situation to clean out my parents home a few years ago. I needed to do it quick, and they were tidy people but kept A LOT of things from 1900s- 80s. I wasn’t reselling at the time, but I know there were valuables like the ones in this video. I just did not have the time to slowly pick. I was just thinking that a person with your knowledge could advertise to help people like me. Look stuff over, advise on what to sell, and charge a % fee of the sales. Not like estate sales, but eBay. The owner lists the stuff in a newly created eBay account, maybe you spend a day or so showing them how. I would have employed someone like that.
It's a good idea but being completely honest as a reseller myself it's just not worth it for anyone to resell someone else's items there are far too many hassles that come with it, opposed to just buying it as an estate yourself and reselling the all of it. There's too much work involved and too little money for it to be worth more or less consigning items. Most resellers will struggle with space no matter how much they have it will always end up filled and that's just another issue with consigning. Items can potentially sit for years and that creates a slew of problems on both ends. It's never good to fill your own shelf space with someone else's item and take a small % of what should of been entirely your own profit. Another thing, you mentioned listing items in a newly created eBay account, this too would bring on a mountain of problems, being a new account you'll be muuuch more likely to be targeted by scammers and before 1k feedback I know this to be true all too well, not to mention your items will sell 10 times slower than a selling account with say 2k feedback, but on a good week 1 out of 10 happy customers will actually leave positive so getting to the amount of feedback is journey on it's own. Anyway, my point is there's a reason that re-selling is a profession, it's a ton of work and a ton of hassle, that's something all of these youtubers fail to mention is all the b/s that comes with it just like any job and how many times they've lost money on bad deals etc. Re-selling is not this glamorous perfect job, don't get me wrong it's better than an assembly line but it's not what it looks like in the movies either lol
Gawd, I had a Yonex Tennis racket when I "tried" to take up tennis in the 80s. I have no idea what happened to it. All I remember is that I paid A LOT for it at the time. I am a new sub.
I don't comment on your videos often, but I watch almost every one. I love these kind of videos, and to learn about more things to source. One of my death pile items are 6 huge totes full of Rokenbok I got at the Restore - think I paid $75 for them, because of all the different sets and sheer volume. They did have them for $150 at first, but I waited for them to go down, believe it or not. Anyway, since it's a long weekend for me, I think now is the perfect time to get all that stuff out, lay it out cross my living room floor to sort and list. Thanks for the push!
To answer your question about buying ashtrays at Walmart, yes they have them and so do thr dollar stores but they are all hard plastics these days, not glass or even ceramic
Am I ever glad I found you! Never would have thought to check badminton rackets, but watch out YONEX, here I come!!! And DVD's? Never knew which were good, now I do! THX!
I think it's also important to point out the way that ebay's advanced search really works. Many of the items that you're scrolling through say they sold for such and such price but there are a number of different scenarios that the asking price will show as the price received when it really was not at all that way. I'd sold an item once for $16 with an asking price of 35 or so and when looking it up in advanced search it showed very clearly that I had sold it for the asking price even though I didn't. Also all of the money laundering b/s that happens is most of the time with the 1 bid situations, or the person 7 out of 10 times bid on it and then never pays. It will still show that item as having sold even if the person never pays and that seller never ends up with that amount.
Even if you have multuiple quantities and you change the price up or down, it will show your listing as having sold for that new price adjusment. For instance, I have two units. I sell one at $50. I then up the price of my last one to $60. Sold listings will show that my first sale sold for $60 because I adjusted the price.
I can't stop laughing at your question regarding why someone would need a fish decoy...I wish I could help 😆 I love all of your videos, thanks for the educational and entertaining content! Liked and shared, thanks Wick!
Thank you for these videos. I want to get started selling, but I am not sure if I know what to keep an eye out for when "hunting". I am watching lots of your videos, trying to gather information.
OK question for anybody on the McDonald’s ashtrays I noticed there was a bunch of them when you’re doing a video like this. Do you look for sold items specifically because my dad‘s been selling for ever on eBay and I need to get better at looking items that have sold, because if the market is flooded with the items, then the value goes down, possibly and then you might not want to get that item if you’re just gonna be sitting on it, not ever sell it or you pick it up anyway and then just keep reducing the price and after time hope it sells.
I have to look everywhere. People usually put them on Facebook in random groups. Takes forever to search them all. Newspapers usually have them. Some apps have them. Just takes forever to research anymore. I guess I don't have a favorite lol
You need to make more videos like this one my dude. Very useful content and interesting. I’m a beginning flipper and will keep an eye out for this stuff.
Amazing what we threw away. I blame it all on the people that showed us how to downsize. They should have said “ if it doesn’t bring you JoY now, hold on to it, it may just bring you lots more jOY in your retirement years.”

Fish decoy is used in areas where they spear pike to attract them to the ice fishing hole ( 2ft X 4ft) or so.
Glad I watched this video yesterday. I went to local thrift store and first thing I saw was a Yonex racket sitting next to the carrying case for $1.99. That's incredible!
Good luck selling! Hope they're moved fast
Fun yeah rescue them and get them out in the world people to enjoy. How much did you sell them for what they look like?

Yeah I found a vintage ash tray I was going to sell it but I kept it for myself
I find duck decoys at yard sales all the time...and make tons of money on resales!
what kind do you pick up? i find a lot without label or name is this common?
You mentioned where Rockenbok toys came from. They are American made, in Solana beach, California believer it or not.
I was just gifted 10 old ducks with other collectibles from an estate. I wish I could share pictures with you; they are really great.
Thank you, great video. I had no idea about the McDonald's ashtrays.
I remember the aluminum ashtrays at McDonald’s lol
Fish decoys are made for ice fishing and or spear fishing to draw in bigger predator fish
Ashtrays hold trinkets like keys and earrings.
The fish decoy was used for ice fishing. They put it on a line (no hooks) and put it through the ice and jerk it up and down while you stand above the hole with a spear.

Yes I agree with that.
I found a couple aircraft ashtrays at auction and made some good money selling them on EBay.
Made me laugh hard when you said “why would you even need a fish decoy?” 🤣
Wow!! Never even knew McDonald's had these! I got a box of ashtrays a long time ago...nearly all sold! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your info. I am shaking my head at what I have walked by on the shelf not knowing it had value.

I sold a McDonald's ashtray last year
Hello Wick haven’t found any McDonalds Ashtrays but I did find a Mallory Duck cast Iron Door Stop very cool
I found one for $8.00 sold it locally for $175.00 was missing the light on top

Yes, it's crazy how much USPS charges now for something long like a baseball bat.
I buy stuff all the time.. and never really pay attention to the shipping. (I might be a rarity, but I feel I might be a part of the majority)

RE: ASHTRAYS
You can see a big, wide selection of ashtrays at major dollar store. Just sayen
Those John Deere’s are
VERY NEAT
Christmas trees selling in APRIL for that price is mad! A lot of these are items resellers would walk right by, thanks for the video.
I have one of those heavy stand ashtrays from my grandpa. Can’t wait to sell it! It has an amber glass ashtray in it. Thank you for your videos . I’m new here.
Have found some great DVDs and ashtrays -Thanks for all the tips!!!!
Thanks Wick!
I love the "I kinda like it" comment about the airplane, you have on your mantle.
Enjoy it!!!

You use to be able to smoke in the hospital also in the airplane and at school we had a smoking porch
I was very surprised when I went to a McDonald's in KY and seen ppl smoking inside I asked a worker and they said it's legal there
Yeah the rest of the country used to be free too
Have a blessed Easter 🐣🐣🐇🐣🐇 peace be with you and yours ❤️🙂
Thanks for taking the time to share
I have a beautiful orange Viking glass ashtray in my eBay store. It is BEAUTIFUL
Loved the video! I specialize in clothing but love to look around wares from time to time. Keep it up :)
Awesome vid bro! Love how you timestamp the vid too.
New Viewer, Liker & Subscriber. Love this type of reseller video. Never heard of most of these, but they are now on my BOLO list.Thank you so much!!
Hell yeah! Title got me. Been watching about a year. Love the content
I appreciate your videos. Gives me more stuff to keep an eye out for rather than just shuffle on by. Thank you.
The finds you've pointed out are all flooding the market too.
Great video, knowing the low hanging fruit in as many possible categories is the goal. These videos help get there. Thank you
Thanks Wick! So informative and fun to watch :)
I can't stop laughing at your question regarding why someone would need a fish decoy...I wish I could help 😆 I love all of your videos, thanks for the educational and entertaining content! Liked and shared, thanks Wick!
I might have a guess for that fish decoy.. it's bait for maybe a Bear Or Coyotes or animals of that sort.. it attracts them maybe 🤷♂️
Please keep making these! So much great information.
Thank you for these videos. I want to get started selling, but I am not sure if I know what to keep an eye out for when "hunting". I am watching lots of your videos, trying to gather information.
I paid $20 for like 40 decoys and I’ll probably average $7 each on them. They’re kind of in rough condition but I’ll take that return.
OK question for anybody on the McDonald’s ashtrays I noticed there was a bunch of them when you’re doing a video like this. I look at sold comps, but it's good to check what is listed to see what kind of competition you will have
Thanks for sharing!!❤
Hi I actually had one of the McDonald’s hamburger seats. Sold for 6-700
Thank you for the help!! I've just starting and researching...What's your favorite way to find out about garage sales??
I have to look everywhere. People usually put them on Facebook in random groups. Takes forever to search them all. Newspapers usually have them. Some apps have them. Just takes forever to research anymore. I guess I don't have a favorite lol
You need to make more videos like this one my dude. Very useful content and interesting. I’m a beginning flipper and will keep an eye out for this stuff.
Thanks for the schooling, from Slim Pickings in Texas.
I use fish decoys for spearing through the ice bud
These videos are relaxing.
Wow, I always enjoyed playing badminton, but haven't done so in many years. I had no idea some badminton rackets sell for that much!
Thanks dude, such great info!
Big lots still sell ashtrays ❤️
I have a large box of Rokenbok things I need to list, paid $20 for the lot.
I'm with you. Why WOULD you need a fish decoy?
I’ve sold a playboy ashtray . Cigar ashtrays sell
Love this content!! Tyty
Really enjoyed your video! Thanks!!

nice video, I'm selling yonex badminton rackets for 15-25 euro... have not seen/found these expensive ones... More of a tennis racket expert, will deep dive more into yonex though!
As always lots of interesting information. Thanks
You have the best price and smart goodwill. All shirts at mine even t-shirts are 5.99. Ashtray like that probably 25 minimum. It seems they want to move product rather nickel and dime everyone.
It's good will. Everything they sell is donated to them for free so why would they care.
You're the man. Thanks!
Dollar general had the hard plastic ashtrays 😂
I only sell ladies clothes. I need to branch out after watching your video. Thanks for the tips
Thanks Wick you're awesome!!😊
Great stuff! Thanks Wick!
Omg why didn't this video pop up when I went out today I ran across the badminton set the Christmas tree and the dove or bird but hopefully tomorrow it will be still there
I just found a complete 2nd season of Heman for $4.99 I currently have it listed at $25
Fish decoy is for spearing
Thank you for another great video❤😊
the mcdonalds coke spoons are good too
Vintage Scratch & Sniff Stickers! Ping Pong Paddles.
Yeah, scratch and sniff stickers are crazy. I've been looking for them for years and never found any. I had so many when I was young lol
I have two wooden duck decoys I have not listed yet. One is a mallard and the other is a wood duck. LOL a wooden wood duck. No markings, but very nice. I don't even know where to start on a price. Any suggestions?
Hard to say. If you can't find any info on it you can do an auction and start the bidding high. You can kind of gauge how good it is based on people watching it or asking questions about it. If it doesn't sell, you can adjust the next auction price lower etc.
