UPDATE: After watching this update I was somewhat skeptical of the C208ex from Carenado, but with a 30 day money back guarantee I went for it, and despite some small nuances with the sounds and AP, I have to say it has become my top General Aviation plane to fly. It's great on fuel, can transport 13 PAX + Pilot, and is just a lot of fun to manually fly and land as well. In regards to the review, the beeping noise (I think related to t/o configuration or speed) has never beeped at me and that was my biggest concern. The cockpit is well modeled and I really like the PFD-MFD-PFD layout. Just make sure you turn your Prop Heat to Auto, doesn't seem to work in Manual for me. I highly recommend the plane, there are some issues that really don't spoil the experience for FSEconomy missions, but by no means is this even close to study level. Thanks @Blu Games for all the time and work you put in the reviews. I do think that Carenado should drop the price $10.00 to be more in line with the bugs.

UPDATE: My buddy and I were talking about the C208EX a good bit last night and after playing around a bit, he was able to resolve all the sound issues. I tested his suggestion and it works great. Wanna know how..... Delete the FMOD folder. LOL The sounds still sound great because they aren't in the FMOD folder itself. Trust me, it works great and all the custom sounds function as they should. The switches and TCAS couldn't even be adjusted before. I adjust my rating from a 3.5/5 to a 4/5 with this new fix. Try it out and see what you think.
@@RPPerry1984 does deleting the FMOD folder remove the beeping?
@@CajunJosh I never had any issues with beeping, but deleting the FMOD folder does revert the plane back to default X-Plane 11 sounds as opposed to the FMOD hi fidelity and custom sounds. I actually went back to using the FMOD sounds as they're just great, just turn the plane volume down in the Carenado Control panel when I wear Headphones.
Good lord that beep is annoying. 😂 Definitely not normal. Almost sounds like the radio altimeter. Not sure.
Big Lever- Inertial separator. You’re correct.
Startup- wait for Ng to stabilize prior to adding fuel (low idle)
Shutdown- feather engine then pull fuel cutoff
I think they could work on the engine shutdown sound. Seems that it cuts off too abruptly. I’d agree with your scoring BLU. Plenty of room for improvement. This was fun to watch. Thoroughly enjoyed this! 💯🤙🏼

Hi Blu.I had a go with the C208B EX G1000...you are right.The throttle is annoyingly slow,unlike the Grand Caravan HD....I did not have the peeping though..

Damn man, this looks just exactly like what i'm looking for. A typical "Narcos" kind of GA plane style , simple but tough enough to bring quite a lot of people or even cargos. Good Nav System, it's easy. And based on what i saw into the way your flying this badboy, it just looks so hell fun. So it's fun to fly then. I definately wil buy this baby. Thanks mate.

I think they did a great job with this aircraft, but there are some mistakes that could be corrected! For example the left PFD illuminated with the Avionics1 button in the OFF position.. then, some pilot mistakes, for example the Fuel Boost put on the OFF position after engine start.. the correct position is NORM! Second, zero attention to Engine parameters: Torque over 2000 Lbs during Take Off run.. it means that he is using the throttle like it were a Piston Engine! It isn't, you can't apply Full Power but you MUST pay attention to Torque, ITT and Ng indications if you don't want to destroy a 1.5 million dollars turbine..

Thanks for this video. I was in doubt if your landing was made difficult due to local weather conditions or if a bug that happens to me is also happening to you. It is that the aircraft has a tendency to roll to the left (the horizon on the PFD is never aligned). The autopilot minimizes the effort of piloting in these conditions, but in manual landing this tendency gets in the way, making the landing (most of the time) trial and error (I don't know if it happened to you). Hey Blu, I have no beeping noise in the cockpit. Model looks amazing as I've come to expect from Carenado. I do have a few "- neg" feelings about the G1000 screens not popping out and the clunky operation of the AP when popped out, but other than that I'm pleased.

I got a weird bug where when I put the battery on, it starts prop rotation and ignition, even when I have them off. EDIT: I noticed the starter gets stuck in the start position even if you switch it back to the off position.

You should look in to the quest kodiak g1000 by thranda and the reality Expansion pack. Much better than this. It has its little flaws here and there but at least its much more realistic and awesome to operate.

I have an issue with this aircraft where the flaps are EXTREMELY loud. I have no idea why this is, I have even tried to modify the volume of the sound file itself and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know a solution? Anyway this video was great!

I am confused with the differences to ms flight sim 2020. Here both your avionics switches are off (I think) but the avionics are on.

@@BluGames I just bought this aircraft today, I think @Batdude is saying that the screen in front of the pilot is on even with both avionics switches turned off. Not sure why's that. Maybe a bug?
Also I'm having a bug with the Starter that doesn't really turns off no matter what I do.
Definitely a bug. Turning battery on does not turn on the G1000 but I’d did on this sim. There’s an avionics 1 and avionics 2 switch. Avionics 1 turns on pilot’s primary flight display, avionics 2 turns on the center multifunction display and copilot’s PFD. In the sim the when avionics 2 switch turned on the avionics 1 switch simultaneously came on. At least the appropriate screens came on when avionics 2 was turned on.

I was really looking forward to buying this plane for FSEconomy use. Has Carenado made any updates you know of to resolve the beeping sound or other issues you mentioned? The beeping is the most annoying for sure.

Caravans in general are great planes for fse.
@@BluGames So I wrote them through their support system and they said I have 30 days to decide if I like the plane after buying and they'd refund me if it wasn't to my liking. I think the non-g1000 C208 is still pretty solid and will just take that as a second option if the G1000 model gives me trouble. Their B1900HD is my favorite plane I fly the most and I hope they improve their QC in the future. Great videos and thorough reviews!

from someone who has worked on and flown caravans i can say all the engine starting parameters on this video are wrong. I could write pages of everything that went wrong on that start but if thats the #'s when she started in real life you would be buying a new engine and starter after that first run.

Carenado are notorious for casual level simulation. I purchased this in hopes it was an improvement to their vaccum gauge edition of the standard 208 but it was honestly just poorly done. Shows by the lack of content online on it for a sim product.

@@BluGames soo true.... He didn't use the starter although it was a battery start but still.... In real life most caravans use a GPU... To conserve the life of the battery... And lol when he didn't knew the difference between the inertial separator and a cowl flap haha 😂... And the beeping in real life that's always annoying yeah the caravan doesn't do that in real life... Also he forgot to switch the fuel boost from on to NORM instead he turned it off...
