For those who are planning to buy one keep notes of these: *If you're planning to add analog extenders like Kontrol Freaks, make sure the size that you're going to buy are like the PS4 ones since they have the same size. *Also note that there's a squeaky sound when you do the full circular motion of the sticks. Overall performance is great for an alternative option to the Xbox pro controllers. I love the backbuttons and the price is great. Controller has zero input lag like the original ones. I just wish they made the bumpers as crisp as the series s/x controllers....
I hope the next iteration of the G7 controller will be be perfect by having wireless connectivity, hall effect thumbsticks, all of the mechanical clicky face buttons, the tactile bumper buttons, improved rear buttons, and the addition of trigger locks.

Your review style is fantastic! - I’ve tried a few budget pro controllers and have been daily driving the G7 on Forza Horizon 5. I recently got the G7 SE to experience that Hall effect stick vibe. - Comparing the two, the sticks on the G7 SE are more precise and you can set the deadzone a little lower for even more precise movement over the G7. The hall triggers also provide a smoother and more precise output when giving half brake or throttle, for example. Although I miss the clicky buttons, these membranes seem to be not far behind for now
@@tuckernavarre8765SE really isn’t far behind the original g7. The buttons will last just as long and you have better thumbsticks so I’d go with the SE
Thanks for the review! The T4 Kaleid still seems like the best bang for buck option for the PC crowd. Hall sticks, mechanical buttons, and 1k Hz poll rate through the software. If someone could take that and add wireless + 2 more back buttons it would be perfect.
With the Kaleid, I you have to turn down the lights every time you turn that thing on. Annoying. Also - I think it uses different Hall effect stick as its error rate in rotation is much higher. Shape is also different, too wedgy for many. No Xbox compatibility also means lower native compatibility in some games. For PC, I'd go with the G7 SE.

By default, they come with a 5% dead zone. I was able to get mine down to 2% before they get a little wonky. Hell, even 1% dead zone felt fine, just a little too touchy with the slightest gust of wind. 0%, didn’t like. I also left the outer dead zone to 100, rather than RAW. If you change it to Raw, it *will* increase the error rate at/above 10%, which is what standard XBOX 360/One controllers have as well. As for the RGB, go into each of the custom profiles (1, 2, and 3) and turn it off, under the “Lights” section. If you’re on the default profile, they will come on every time. The only reason they probably told you not to review is, is because this has been out for over a month or two but they STILL didnt release any of the custom faceplates (like they excessively advertise) they had a competition for. Like honestly how hard is it to just slap some color and shapes on a faceplate they already manufacture.

I’m really looking forward to the fall line up of games (sports) to put the Xbox connected G7 into action. Thanks to you and GameSir for an excellent alternative to the tired default Xbox controller.

Been watching your channel for awhile now and it’s become a favorite of mine. Finding the right controller for my Xbox has been a journey to say the least but you’ve made it much better. The only thing I wanted to ask for or plead(lol) if you have the time is to make a “Best of round up” controllers/ accessory/ products video maybe once a month or couple months if you had the time. I know your a busy guy, but I think it would really help me and others find the best quality products in your honest opinion. I think most of your subscribers including me trust you and at this point your opinion holds a lot of weight since you’re so transparent with your videos. If not I totally understand just thought I’d throw out a recommendation since I also think a video like that would play nice with the algorithm as a benefit. But not trying to bribe you or anything 😅 best of luck to your channel I’ll be here for the next one
Is your review of the G7 HE on the way? I am doubting whether to get the SE or HE. So far all I see is mechanical XYAB buttons on the HE. Anything else that's different?
All they have to do is to combine analog, facebuttons and rubber grips, then make it wireless and wired version - viola, very nice gamepad is available.
Gasp...gasp I say. Great video, you definitely earned a sub, but Xbox does have Discord. Haven't used it, but appreciate that it IS a built in feature now. Been for a few months actually.
@@KapinKrunch Generally speaking, it's a myth that wired has less latency than wireless. All other things being equal, it's the opposite because light travels faster than electricity.
I preordered the G7 SE and received it over a week ago. For the money I don’t think it can be beat. It’s a really nice controller for XsX! Looking forward to the polling rate update.
It's funny that the pro version has the Xbox layout and the standard versions has the Switch layout. It's a little more expensive, but it's still cheaper than the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth.
guys if you player fifa or nhl or any game that clicks in the stick for movement, hall effect is a game changer . these games break the stick or leave movement stuck in a in between state after less then a month. not only are hall effect sensors waaaaay more sensitive, but they now dont break.
How do you overclock this controller for Xbox? I see every reviewer talking about it, but not one person has mentioned it. Do consumers need to wait for the nexus app to add the option of overclocking?
Thank you for staying on these videos. You're a true crutch and one of only two or three channels I know I'm in safe hands with. This controller looks the same as the 8bitdo ones in terms of the back buttons. They need to be more pronounced imo. How is the Dualsense Edge holding up for you?
I've been playing with my G7 SE for about a week and I do like it. I still think the thrustmaster eswap X is better. However the price point on this controller is phenomenal!
I just started having issues with my eswap s. It seems to unplug randomly (switched the wire still does it😢) and also it acts if I'm holding the left trigger when I left of . How's yours? Also how long do your sticks last? I've noticed the shiny type colored ones (inside) last more than original and especially the see through led ones
@@fredc8618thrustmaster sticks aren’t durable at all unfortunately. The performance of them is incredible but they don’t last very long at all. I’ve also had the problem with the trigger
@douglasshaffer7196 what did you do about it brother?? It's freaking me out! At first I noticed it would act up (for a while) only when I would put in my sign in pin on xbox it would double press.. but now I wants to stay ADS
@@fredc8618I still haven’t found a fix for it yet bro. Mine hasn’t been doing it in the last couple of days. I would try and mess with the trigger deadzones. That’s the only way I could think of fixing it besides sending it back or opening it up
I recently got the g7 se and the dead zone felt off tried a different one and it didn't work correctly again. Would your advice be to get the g7 or a different controller with back buttons? I really like the size of the se and the 3m wire.
@@alanz561 I've been playing with mine daily and the experience has been pretty good. I can't speak on how long the product will hold up over time but for the price I think it's a fine controller. I've had several other much more expensive controllers from Scuf, Razer, Thrustmaster, Nacon, etc. and this one is better. No deadzone, no drift, good circularity, decently low latency, turbo/macro/gyro, zero issues with the included 2.4ghz dongle, mechanical face buttons as well as toggle-able triggers. It took me a few days to get used to the back button placement and you can't cover all 4 simultaneously but I'm fine with them. They're still miles better than many other manufacturers implementations and there's actually FOUR of them, plus 2 additional face buttons that you can bind to. Overall I'm happy with my purchase. The only 'downside' I've found is the thumbsticks definitely need slip on covers because they're kinda slippery imo, and Kontrolfreeks do not fit.
1000Hz mode is now available from the manufacturer via a software update. Apparently the 500Hz and 1000Hz modes disable the audio jack for some reason. I have yet to test this for myself though.
Too bad they decided to remove the mechanical buttons and rubberized grips. The only thing really stopping me from purchasing this is the fact that it only has 2 rear buttons. I've become so used to having 4 to work with on the Elite controllers, I'm not sure I can go back. I would have no problem spending $200 on an actual premium controller with Hall Effect sensors, mechanical buttons, 4 rear buttons/paddles, and rubberized grips. I've been praying to the controller god's that Microsoft finally decides to use Hall Effect modules in the Elite Series 3 if it's ever announced. For now I guess I'll stick with my Elite Series 2 that had stick drift out of the box. 😝
Happy Birthday dude have a good day 🥳🎉, Great video as always i'll probably get the controller just hope it doesn't have the same back button problems.
I got stick drift bad last night on both sticks. I couldn't believe how bad it got. Sending back for another one. Ive had the controller for 2 weeks now

@GamerHeavenOfficial did you have any issues getting full range on the sticks? With faceplate on, neither of my sticks could reach 100% on the left side of the circle, hindering gameplay anytime a left turn was needed. I tested all different settings and their calibration instructions multiple times to no avail. My sticks are noticeably misaligned to the left.

@@Shadowl plus the grips got me too spoiled ... the controller is more comfy than a standard controller
Thank you for the compliment and the recommendation, I really outta do exactly what you are saying. I will start doing that soon.
I really GameSir would make a wireless version.
I'm good without wireless it would have lag
@@KapinKrunchit's actually a few frames faster
@@KapinKrunch Generally speaking, it's a myth that wired has less latency than wireless. All other things being equal, it's the opposite because light travels faster than electricity.
It's not a myth at all it's simple anything wired has less input lag. Same thing with wireless headphones
@@KingDoyle1996 You are incorrect.
Happy 34th Sir Stallion. Keep up the awesome content 👍🎊
Thank you my friend I appreciate that
This controller is a few changes from being the best mainly because the joysticks 🔥 love it my new main controller
I preordered the G7 SE and received it over a week ago. For the money I don’t think it can be beat. It’s a really nice controller for XsX! Looking forward to the polling rate update.
Can you over clock on Xbox?
@@thewitherslayer9669 not yet but 1000Hz update is coming.
@@HelveticaBold1 I was under the impression overclocking only worked on PC?
@@thewitherslayer9669 oh maybe you’re right. vCuda review made is seem like Xbox as well but I might be wrong.
@@thewitherslayer9669probably depends on if Xbox can recognize that high of a polling rate. The firmware is located on the controller.
Gamesir announced its new product the: Gamesir T4 Cyclone and the Pro version. Looking forward to your review of it.
It's funny that the pro version has the Xbox layout and the standard versions has the Switch layout. It's a little more expensive, but it's still cheaper than the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth.
Happy birthday!!! Have a fantastic day!
Thank you! You too!
Happy Birthday, Sir. I hope you have a good one and many more. Thanks for sharing this controller.
good to see you back from hiatus
Love the controller. I prefer the membrane face buttons. It's just missing the mouse click triggers. Then you have a perfect $50+ controller
Hi, the membrane are more easy to push ? Cuz im playing on claw
@@RyzePPsh hi, yes I prefer the membrane feel playing claw. The mouse click feel, didn't work well with me.
@@S4h4r4s ok thank you 👍
Definitely going to grab one, looks sick. And happy birthday Kevin.
Happy Birthday man! Appreciate you giving away the game pass code!
Glad you got it brother
guys if you player fifa or nhl or any game that clicks in the stick for movement, hall effect is a game changer . these games break the stick or leave movement stuck in a in between state after less then a month. not only are hall effect sensors waaaaay more sensitive, but they now dont break.
How do you overclock this controller for Xbox? I see every reviewer talking about it, but not one person has mentioned it. Do consumers need to wait for the nexus app to add the option of overclocking?
Happy birthday man
Happy Birthday bro. 🍻
Thank you! 😃
Best controller channel hands down.
Hope you had a nice birthday.
Thank you, I did
I just got mine in today. Thank you so much for the mapping tutorial! The manual sucks and I couldn't figure out how to do it on my xbox
Happy Birthday 🎈🎂 Cap'n
Thank you for staying on these videos. You're a true crutch and one of only two or three channels I know I'm in safe hands with.
This controller looks the same as the 8bitdo ones in terms of the back buttons. They need to be more pronounced imo.
How is the Dualsense Edge holding up for you?
Happy Birthday 🎉
Thank you
Good to have the stable master back 🐴🐴
Happy Birthday
Thank you!
Amazing video, happy birthay
I ordered one just now xD I have 3 elite 2 Controllers already xD
I've been playing with my G7 SE for about a week and I do like it. I still think the thrustmaster eswap X is better. However the price point on this controller is phenomenal!
The Eswap is in another league lol, she’s a pricier date though
That’s the only way I could think of fixing it besides sending it back or opening it up
- drift proof
- not $60 +
- wired
- free gamepass
Im sold
Just ran into this channel and can say I’m definitely subbing. So what I need to ask is would you prefer this controller or the Power A Fusion Pro. ?
The pro 3 over this, but this over the pro 1&2 which used metal paddles and has some qc problems
@@GamerHeavenOfficial which of those 2 controllers have a more tighter tension in the sticks … I kinda hate light and easy to move ones
Welcome back and happy birthday to you🎉
I will wait for that 1000hz update and your video about it 😮
Nice review and happy birthday, man!
I recently got the g7 se and the dead zone felt off tried a different one and it didn't work correctly again. Would your advice be to get the g7 or a different controller with back buttons? I really like the size of the se and the 3m wire.
just ordered one!! REALLY lookin forward to no stick drift
You should check out the Flydigi Vader 3 Pro. It is sporting hall effect sticks. Mine comes in tomorrow.
Doesn't have Xbox compatibility.
@@RasenRambo23 Gotcha, good to know. However I play PC and Switch so it works for me.
Vader 3 Pro seems to be perfect but I don't know the brand's quality control level and I'm kind of hesitant to buy it
@@alanz561 I've been playing with mine daily and the experience has been pretty good.
I have yet to test this for myself though.
oh hey its my 33rd birthday on thursday lol. happy birthday
Right on, happy birthday!!
Happy birthday enjoy
i hope they introduce the 1000hz feature soon. Can for sure feel the difference coming from a playstation controller
Does it have 1000hz now?
Great review, as usual. Happy birthday!🎉
Happy birthday. Enjoy your 30’s. The big 40 sucks.
Thank you Jack, you’re a good man
Happy belated birthday sir ! Another great video. And don’t worry it f gets better as you get older lmao
In another video you recommended the G7 over the G7SE. Do you know if G7 will be getting the 1000hz upgrade that SE will get.
Happy Birthday dude have a good day 🥳🎉, Great video as always i'll probably get the controller just hope it doesn't have the same back button problems.
I got stick drift bad last night on both sticks. I couldn't believe how bad it got. Sending back for another one. Ive had the controller for 2 weeks now
You got stick drift with HAL sensors?
Which controller???cause I just ordered the controller with hall affect triggers???
Yo bro! You have probably already answered this in a previous video. What custom controller do you recommend for ps4. Right now I’m between scuf and aim. Sadly there’s no working discount creator code that is valid in Sweden/europe. Been saving up, but my price roof is around 200$/€.
And as always, thanks for good content!
Love from Sweden!
Tjenare! Mvh
Happy belated birthday, may you be blessed with a lot more! 🎂🙌 for whatever reason, I haven't seen your video in a while. I haven't got any notification.🤔👎
Happy Birthday 🎂🎈 Really wish had the mechanical face buttons but membrane is fine for me so this is a win ❤
I think the reason they went back to membrane and plastic is to save on the cost of the Hall Effect sticks.
I'd can't complain about the trade off. But, I'd like to see the next G7 have trigger locks.
T4 Kaleid has Hall, mechanical and RGB. Dont think its a cost thing
@@keponen331 but it doesn't work for Xbox everything has a cost
Right doesn’t matter anyways because the purpose of a pro controller is to not use them buttons and instead use the paddles.
Hey gh. Was wondering if you can help me with the g7 se and tell me if there’s any way to fix it or if it’s a done deal? Love the videos man always watch them when sitting down to eat
Thanks for your reviews but i have One question
Buy this one or t4k? Only PC games
Happy Birthday BRO!!!!!!!!!!
Waiting on mine to arrive👍, thanks for the vid!
Thanks for all that you do!
it’s my pleasure. probably sound like I work at chic filet lol
Happy birthday brother 🎉🎉🎉🍾🍾🎈
At the 1:40 mark, there's a controller right next to the pistol that's red and white. My question is, what is the controller that's yellow orange bellow were you put your hands on it. Dude, it's sick!! Happy belated day, my dude! Love your videos and your commentary. It's funny, and I'm not sure if people notice that on any channel, but have a brilliant voice! Looking forward to your future vids.

Thank you. That’s awesome brother
Thanks for the vid seeing as I’m a pc player this controller is extremely affordable and looks great

My biggest issue with Microsoft brand xbox controllers is slow turn. Do you think this would be a good alternative to avoid slow turn. Or do you have a favorite controller for fps games?
Love the content. Can you remap the back paddles from pushing in R1 or L1 sticks? Wondering for FPS…like slide canceling in COD.
