One of the most more then beautiful song of the world heritage, comes from România, 1974,Gheorghe Zamfir, Lonely Shepard, my grandmother used to listen it, 1980's,and now everytime i heard her makes my cry uncontrolably!!!!! Gheorghe Zamfir just played the pan flute in this recording. The creation of the composition "The Lonely Shepherd" has nothing to do with G. Zamfir or Romania. G. Zamfir managed to get the right to release this recording from 1977 beside J. Last , because he had played the panpipe solo. But this does not make G.Zamfir the composer of this music piece. I saw James last literally on stage I got a kiss and a cuddle. We were at his concert in Preston, My whole family in 1978. My mother even danced in the aisles. It was magical never stop listening to him now. They have all passed but no one can take my memories.

You are not properly informed. The first piece "The Lonely Shepherd", originally "Der einsame Hirte", was composed, arranged and produced by JAMES LAST in 1977 in Germany. Gheorghe Zamfir just played the pan flute in this recording. The creation of the composition "The Lonely Shepherd" has nothing to do with G. Zamfir or Romania. G. Zamfir managed to get the right to release this recording from 1977 beside J. Last , because he had played the panpipe solo. But this does not make G.Zamfir the composer of this music piece. James Last is the mastermind composer of this song. Zamfir is only the first panpipe player. Meanwhile many panpipe players play the song just as well. I think the genius is the creator of this incomparable melody JAMES LAST.
