Hi Kelly. I just wanted to say thank you for your channel. I stumbled across it when I was trying to find help in getting my gluing technique to improve and your class on that was game changing. Thank you so much. You explain things so clearly. Since then I have watched your other videos and I have learned so much. I'm so glad I found you. Xxxxxx
Hello and welcome, Amanda. When I first started out I thought I would be asked about manifesting vision, the truth in art, stuff like that but nope, what I heard (and hear) over and over again is - how do I get a really flat glued page. Fair enough. And thank you for touching base. It truly means a lot to me to hear these kind words. I hope you have a creative weekend, and keep me posted! Kelly
Hello Kelly. Oooh, thank you for sharing all these fun tid-bits and info. I need to seriously gather supplies for a travel art bag, ready-set-go. Love the idea of pre-tea staining the pages. Have fun, meet new friends, and create beautiful art!
Hey there, Roksanna. The first, best rule for keeping journal pages on the go is always take your stuff with you. Always. Even if it is a pencil and a ball point pen in a baggie (those work just fine!). Keep me posted on how it works! Kelly
Hi Deb. There were some glitches and I was glad to have prepared but at the end of the day all went well. I am an optimist but also firmly believe that it's better to have stuff and not need it then to need stuff and not have it. Especially with travel when anything can happen: a missed bus, a flat tire, a cancelled flight. So I never go anywhere without a book and an apple. 🍎😁Kelly
I stumbled across your channel and this is only the second video I've watched so far.. "It's certainly possible that I could be stranded." and the first thing you pull out is a book! We could be related! I've already subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward to more of your videos.
Hello Vicki and welcome! Glad to hear you get the "if you have a book you aren't really stranded" notion. I actually took two with me - one serious to better my mind and one funny to help me keep my sense of humour if things went south. And, of course, apples. 😺Thanks for touching base - it is lovely to hear and compare notes. Kelly
Hey Kelly! Good day to you! Thank you for another fun video! Lots of really good info in here. Thank you for sharing. Hope you had a good journey, can't wait to see what you saw. Also, Im loving your hair, it's looking really good! Take care, keep on creating!!
Thank you, Simone. I have to say the hair is growing out nicely and I just wonder what took me so long to let the grey grow in. I save so much time! Time that can be spent on making pages. 😎Kelly
Yes, indeedy and for a plant-based picnic they are yummy. They taste like a babybell! Hope you can locate some. (If not, ask your supermarket to stock them.) Kelly
Love your backpack! I'm a suckered for a good backpack...lol Went to the website where you got your travel art bag from, couldn't fine the bag...silly me. Great video as usual! Know you had a great time and look forward to you sharing your travels, at least I hope you share...
I bought the marigold backpack for a big birthday. I almost always buy second-hand stuff so this was quite the indulgence but it will last longer than I do. Try this link for the LIHIT bag. It is called a lab bag and I believe this is the A5 size. I also have A4. I love, love these bags and they are crazy light. They also last for ages - I've had the orange one for over eight years, so go ahead, indulge! Kelly www.jetpens.com/search?q=lab+bag&v=2
Really great tips for a travelling kit! I’m always the kind of person that takes more than she needs 🤦♀️ I’m always afraid that I’ll need something that I didn’t bring with me 🤷♀️, so I really take a lot! Fortunately they don’t weigh much, because it’s either fabric and threads or a really small art journal ❤️💛💜💙♥️🧡💚🖤💗 I hope you had a wonderful day 🌼🌸🌺
Kelly, well that certainly was fun and informative! :) And all these goodies are for just one day of travel as the title claims? Wowsa, gurlfriend, I can't wait to see what creative goodness you return back home with. Best wishes on the train ride you'll be on. I hope it all goes smoothly. Your friend there will love her little jar of onion skin ink!
Hi Lynn. It was uneventful mostly except my "direct" train now had two separate changes and lots of running was involved but I got where I was going and Abergavenny did not disappoint. 😺😺Kelly
I often think in music, in songs, in lyrics. Kelly, I hope you know the song "Abergavenny" by Marty Wilde. It's just a simple song from 1968 so I doubt it. In those years everything from the UK was played on the radio. When I came to Wales in the 70's I was determined to drive down that road to Abergavenny 😁 It's so appropriate with what you say. And where he sings at the end "I promise to send you a photograph" I hope you say "I promise to show you a drawing", preferably several ✏️📖🖌️ I wish you a very nice day.
Hi Lucy. This made me laugh out loud as that song has been in my mind for days now and truth be told, it's not a great song but I keep humming it loudly then making myself stop. I hope you are having a creative weekend, or what's left of it! 😎Kelly
That's really funny, I really thought you never heard of that. But maybe it's something that gets played sometimes. It's certainly not a great song, but it's positive. 😜
@@Lucyverre Lucy, it doesn't sound it from my accent or lack of same but I have lived in Swansea for 20 years and have an improbable amount of local popular culture under my belt, included "hoping the weather is fine" 🎶🎶 What an optimist! I am about to on my oil cloth coat to go to Sainsburys and hope for the best.
Hi Kerry. Thank you for the welcome although I have lived in Swansea for 20 years! 😉One of these days I hope to see Chesire. It's on my list but boy, is it tricky to get places around the country on the bus or train. You know, like 17 changes. 🙄🙄Thanks for touching base. Let me know if you ever come this way.
Hi Susan. Birthday presents are a great way to increase the art supply stash. $20 is inexpensive for a gift but more than enough to take care of some pencils and a pen or two, no? 😎😎🎨🎨
I really like your style of drawing. I wish I could draw this loose. It always looks so fun. I'm good at details and perspective and such, but not so much in just having colours and shapes and well, general fun. 🥴
Hi Centi. I had to learn and force myself to draw loose. At one time I was trying to be so precise (and failing) that I was too afraid to make any drawings. Then one day I did this One Drawing a Day thing and every day you were assigned a different style. One day the style was to draw something without lifting your pen from the page and I drew my desk and books and pens so that without lifting my pen from the page there were many loops and bulges and it was so messy but somehow at the end it looked like my desk. Since then I have never looked back and the more scary something is to draw, the more cartoon-like and childish I make the first drawing. You can try it! It works. Let me know how it goes. Kelly
Hi Laurita. It is a vintage Waterman Junior from around the 1930s. I've had it for over 25 years. It has a really good nib for messy sketching. You may be able to find one online (Ebay?). A pen this small is not popular or sought after so you might find one that is not too expensive even though it is vintage.
Your my kind of people! LOL Hi from Phoenix AZ. Glad to find your channel.
Hello there and you win coolest message of the week. Thank you so. It is always a treat to meet a new member of the tribe. Hi from Wales. Kelly
Love your studio and all you share. Thank you.

Thank you for that info!
