As a guy who grew up in Germany, I can confirm that Brawl certainly has Schiggy in it.

I spent an unhealthy amount of time rewatching every single direct,downloading every single possible Smash pic,and every single gameay of Smash 4 when I was 12. When you had no friends,love life,hobbies,or a semblance of a normal childhood: You would've fallen into this downward spiral yourself. Also,this->12:20 is funny as hell and I hope it becomes meme material someday.
God, the Little Mac/Shulk photoshop was super hilarious to me for several reasons, mainly the fact that my friend hated Xenoblade so much he was willing to 100% believe the photoshop claim which only further pissed him off when he was officially confirmed. And then people started believing that Nintendo acknowledged the leak because the Shulk trailer was called "Looks like we don't have a choice!" even though that's a line from the game itself.

If you want to jump into the rabbithole of Brawl speculation, I recommend an old podcast that covered every little crumb of information we had as it came out called "Show Me Your News!", specially episodes 19 through 35. It is an internet time capsule full of Brawl speculation hosted by two gentlemen named Youko and SamuraiPanda that had it's own community that spun off from smashboards. To say that I listened to it a lot as a kid would be an understatement. Sometimes they even delved into what Melee speculation was like when they had veteran smashboards guests on.

Man, what a blast from the past! And by blast from the past, I mean nothing's changed at all! I don't know what kind of drugs I took that made me believe that smash bros. speculation was entertaining, but I want some more.

Little things like the PotDs or even Sakurai's Whiteboard Drawing (I wonder how many remember that) were so much hype, and the Smash Direct man, I still remember Sakurai's jokes by memory (Zero Suit Samus anyone?), as well as Ridley's shadow, fortunately we got him in Ultimate, but it was really painful to see Sakurai wanting to deconfirm him without really doing explicitly. PS: I still think that Miis' reveal trailer is the best Smash trailer of all time.
The most shocking dlc was definitely by far Steve, not wii fit Trainer xD. You can’t even compare the amount of hype and “Shock“ Steve created with the hype of wii fit trainer.
