this song was after the guitarist had a serious health issue, and was told pretty much 'lose weight or die', so he did, and fans actually complained that they don't like him skinny and wanted fat Ryo back {the beginning} so this is their 'f u' to fans talking about the health issues of being obese, they like to troll their fans alot, they have both more one genre songs and also songs where they jump around, you can't really go wrong with any choice by them.
MtH is known for mixing up musical styles and tempos in one song. Co-founded by drummer Nao Kawakita, who is a wild and crazy lady with a pop-rock singing voice, but a very heavy drumming style.

These guys have been around for over 2 decades and have been an influence on so many other Japanese bands. So much talent, but a great sense of humor too. Check out "Yoshu Fukushu" and "A.L.I.E.N."
Definitely should check out some more MTH if you dug this. They're always fun and their songs are all killer. Some recs: Yoshu Fukushu, Tsume Tsume Tsume, Alien, Policeman Benz, Maximum the Hormone, Unbelievable: Swomints Hockeleiro Mifeho. All incredible.
This was my first time hearing this band as well and my God that was great. It's refreshing to hear fun and creative stuff like this. The music video was just as good too. Definitely going in the playlist and definitely checking them out more

MTH is so f'n great... literally cried when I saw this song first come out as he lost so much weight. I cant express enough how amazing this group is. Along with ABS, Galneryus and many more.
I saw them in London Friday last week (June 2022). Was amazing! Worth the horrible London cold I caught which is to be expected I suppose. You need to go down the rabbit hole a lot more with Maximum The Hormone. They have a lot of music to listen to and some amazing songs, I love the song Buikikaesu.
The pop music in the beginning is MTH also (CHIISANA KIMI NO TE / Your Little Hand). The video is about weigh loss and healthy lifestyle. The girl (enormous by Japanese standards) was texting with others about the recent weight loss of MAXIMUM THE RYO-KUN (the chubby guitarist eating the pork chop) and her last comment was that he looked better when he was fat. Then skinny RYO-KUN appears in her room and pukes on her phone.
Best band ever, I've got tickets to go see them in London in June. Been into them since 2008 and this is the first time they've played a show here, I absolutely can't wait, it's going to be a massacre.

im glad we share the sentiment with the system of a down type sound which is funny because i originally made that comparison before i heard MTH. i made it based on a few reasons for the band Hanabie which many people say are the female equivalent of MTH and hearing MTH and hearing you make that comparison makes me feel a lot less crazy lol

@@greenblood6859 I wish I could give more examples but I don't really know any of the song titles I just kinda memorized what the Japanese looked like to some of my fav tracks it's kinda hard to find all their music I'm still having trouble finding songs of theirs I had back in the early 2010s lol they have brutal songs but the pop influence in the mix has kinda always been their thing lol but they have heavy bangers tho with out the pop stuff

MTH is the Japanese version of system of a down. I have some great memories from around the world rocking out to some MTH and driving extremely fast. This is one of their newer songs and I feel like you need to get the context from some of their older songs but sadly they are notorious for copy right claiming any reaction so those songs.
The thing I like about this band is they’re heavy, but they mix genres soo much that the only band similar would probably SOAD and from what I understand they both started right around the same time one opposite sides of the planet. Kind of amazing, they’re an amazing band, and I’ve heard they’re epic live
