  • We're Crossing the Atlantic Ocean - just as soon as it let's us!
    Go to drinkag1.com/e... to get started on your first purchase and receive a FREE 1-year supply of Vitamin D3+K2 and 5 travel packs. Thanks to AG1 for sponsoring today's video!
    If you're new here - WELCOME! If you've been here for a while, even more Welcome :-) Thanks for tuning in to see what we're up to in REAL TIME! Yep you see those dates right, we JUST FILMED THIS and we're so amped up and ready to go! Aiyana has joined the crew and now the dogs have all the pets they could ever ask for.
    Eva is ready, we were able to get the sail repaired and we're all provisioned up...but now it looks like Storm Bret (not brett) is on its way. Forecasted to potentially become a decent hurricane and we don't want anything to do with it...so we'll stay in our relatively safe harbor until mother nature says we can go for it!
    Until then
    Love you all, be safe be good!

    A suggestion to add to your ditch bag would be some type of boot for your dogs feet. I have visions of their nails punching holes in the bottom of the raft, and boots might keep this from happening.

    You need to have a strap to your boat for your raft & ditchbag so if you have to ditch in heavy weather it doesn't disappear overboard on you. A hydrostatic release on your painter inside that locker wouldn't be a bad idea. Do your harness/lifevests have PLB's?.

      @@Cat-ni6fm I’m talking about doing an up to date video everyday while on the journey. Because it’s not really been possible without Starlink. Delos had Satellite capabilities for several years (at a discounted rate because they were testing the system) but didn’t do daily V-logs (that I’m aware of). Because of the high price of a satellite system, most cruisers just waited until arriving and using cellular a connections to post videos about their trip. So this will be fairly new in the cruiser community. That that make sense?

    So what will you be eating on your last day at sea? 🙂 In the UK we drive on the left anyway, except in Ireland where the cars drive on the left, and the lorries on the right. If the helicopter just sends the harness down, don't forget you mustn't reach up as you get to the door, they grab you 🙂

  • @duanemiller5606
    @duanemiller5606 Год назад +1

    How to tie a bowline? The rabbit comes out of his hole and over the log and under the log and back down his hole. So where does the rabbit hole come from? You put a twist in the rope or should I say loop so as the rope is coming towards you on your left side you make the loop that points to your right side so that it pigtails back up and over the original line that goes around you and then the loose end comes up through the hole over the top of the loop then down under, from right to left, on the opposite side of the loop from you and then back down into the hole and pull it tight.
    PS It’s easier to do than to describe in full detail, but just remember the rabbit.

That being said when I sailed, safety was always on the forefront of my mind for me and the crew for every time I went to sea. that being said,you should consider Exposure suits, because even in warm water you can succumb to hypothermia, if you have them I did not see them.. Not to be a downer, but when that time comes, and god believe me I hope it NEVER does, but if it does you can expect to be in a life raft for 20 to 30 days..I know you think this is over kill, and hopefully you will never need any of it..

    Hi guys, I rarely ever comment anywhere but I had to tell you this. I've been watching you from the beginning and I do love your channel and you are partially responsible for me hoping to get a sailboat and do something similar, but that's not why I'm writing today, however thank you for that. I watched your latest episode a couple of hours ago and even at 62 was giggling myself, then you showed the weather report saying they named a tropical system, Bret. I had to laugh for the obvious reason and I thought (being from England) if you just used the space after the comma, it could've been a special report for Bret. Anyway, the thing is I just got a notification that it's now tropical storm Bret. So however interesting my comment is, it did urge me to write to you guys. I will begin the process of going back and making sure I liked your vids, sometimes I forget. However, stay safe, love and happiness💖💖💖, for all three, most of all enjoy !!😂
