Hey Brett, just for future knowledge, those bayonet style light bulbs are SUPER common in the automotive world, it's all 12V as well. So next time you are looking for a bulb with that style of connector, try going to an auto parts store, you'll probably have good luck, and pay significantly less for it as well. Good luck with your crossing, fair winds Evans!
It's hard to not notice the so called sparks here with your new passenger after spending so much time together alone with only eachother..and the doggies, of course!
I must say, I have so enjoyed your guys' videos. Aiyanna is a gem, as are you two. I love the positivity, you guys. Even when bad things happen, you turn it into something positive. Don't lose that happiness!
I just finished binge watching your series on repairing Eva to be seaworthy while waiting for you to post a video! Thank you for everything you do! your videos are soo relaxing
Great teamwork by the three of you! Looks like you covered all the basics with your team. Don’t forget the man overboard procedure. Have a great sail crossing the Atlantic. Be safe, have fun and make a lot of videos. Love you guys❤❤❤
It's been a fantastic journey that the Both of you have been on and now you have your sis enjoying your wonderful life in sailing. I must say her smile and laughter is heartworming. I wish you a safe passage and may the winds be at your back. I must add there are so many Beautiful places in this world. And some of us get to see them through your eyes and your videos. So thank you for bringing us along for this journey. Stay safe.
This video show the amazing process of how saturated limestone water creates stalagmites over time. As a geologist, I vaguely remember reading about how touching a stalagmite would alter the form from that point forward. What you guys did . . . . . . ! At about 7:00 in the video you can see where there are many stalagmites that are broken off, where people have knocked off the lower portion.
Bret, you’re a better man than I sailing off with two young ladies on a sailboat. I bet before you reach land you will be wishing for a bigger boat. You guys are wonderful, I have really enjoyed watching your life journey.
This video was long enough that I felt like I was watching a short movie. It was great. I love the way you guys interact and as I had said it before, I love your dogs. Stay safe and enjoy your life.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the passage. One more thing I’ll probably get blasted for but I don’t care. It is really cool to see pretty girls that aren’t covered in tattoos. Brett, you are a lucky man.
Just found the channel and ended up binging the last few vlogs for hours. Loving the glimpse into sail life you guys provide and can't wait for more updates. 🥰
Really enjoyed the video, awesome job.. The meals at the restaurant looked awesome... You folks bring back memories of my younger days when I was roaming around the planet.. Thanks for that and for sharing your voyage with us..
White vinegar and table salt makes a great contact cleaner and dialectic grease does the trick, nice to have a jar in the tool kit and a brush, flux brushs work well,
One thing I've learned from watching videos like this, wear ear plugs when cleaning the hull under water, saves on having to fish out the crawling creatures from your ear afterwards
I’m so glad that you decided to stay and wait. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Have a BLAST 💥. Blessings from Paso Robles, California, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊🇺🇸
Brett and Jade, got a great idea that would add a whole new part for fan interaction in your videos. You mention alot in the evenings that you're getting ready to watch a video or movie. Wouldn't it be great to tell us what you're planning on watching and if you haven't or have seen it before. Would open up alot of questions for fans to ask and provide some great interaction for discussion.
I am left handed,so I always look, left, right, left. I have a little voice or reminder sense that remind me to look both ways. Like when I get into a car a always put on seat belt without thinking about it. Being former U.S. Army I am always looking around and taking snapshots with my eyes and ears. Yes, it’s being paranoid, some training and instincts are hard to overcome.
I picked a good morning to catch up with your expeditioning. Wishing you well on your crossing. You probably said somewhere/sometime, straight to Portugal mainland or are the Azores on your route? Winy show the favorable winds yo are catching, and let's hope Cindy continues to chill out. Looking forward to hear and see your passage adventure. Health and peace
You can get a small long range directional wifi antenna, or you can DIY one with an old small dish tv satellite with a thumb-drive wifi receiver attached and pointing into it. Just connect the usb dongle from the receiver on the dish to a wifi router inside the ship to blast the wifi signal all over your ship. Either way, you can pick up cafe wifi from a few miles out from shore. The DIY satellite works better, because it just picks up more connection options and it's less picky about the direction you point it in. Plus it's cheaper to DIY, since you can probably find a small dish without having to pay for it. And, external thumbdrive wifi antennas are outdated, so they're really cheap, even the ones with a usb dongle extension cord. Once you set up your wifi router, and it can be a cheap one since the signal will go all over your little ship easily, you'll be able to just open your wifi settings on any device and it will look like you're standing inside every cafe and store that has a wifi signal, in whichever part of of the city which your satellite-antenna is pointing towards, even if you're anchored out in a bay.
Y'all need a Blue Nemo or Air Buddy - diving system for cleaning the hull. I've seen a few other boats using them and they seem to work quite well for those shallow dives (cleaning / bottom maintenance/crap-in-the-prop kinda thing...)
In the military they woke us up at 4:30 everyday to get our teeth brushed and on the wall for PT and we had a time limit I think it was like 2-5 minutes. So I got my whole flight to get these cheap Casio watches and set our alarm clocks on them staggered from 4:00 to 4:15 and we all brushed our teeth and shaved before our MTI came in and so we just put our PT gear on and got on the wall.
Brett, Jade , Dingo, Penny and Aiyana..loved this video. Caves were awesome and you all make this so fun. Great find on the mini bread pans. Can't believe the price of those light bulbs...are you kidding me.... Outrageous! Nice find on the Vet. Be safe on you voyage and can't wait for the next one. Love n hugs!! 🤎 💜 🤗 🤗 🤗 Myk. ⛵️⚓️
Are those big red containers the Husky brand from Home Depot? A more permanent fix to your bulb issue is to solder leads to to bulb & the top of the contacts in the receptacle. Attach plugs to the leads and plug the leads in. Do it in a way that you would still be able to replace it with a bulb that doesn’t have leads in an emergency. My guess, you won’t have to worry about those bulbs for many years. I would also coat everything inside the light with dielectric grease.
Jade’s mask was freaking me out, it looks like it is upside down to me, I know it’s not but had me checking the nose pocket. Good episode fair winds stay safe.
'At least there's a sidewalk' 😅 anyone who's spent anytime I'm Bermuda knows sidewalks are 'optional' 😅 Also, I've been in Bermuda for 3 months and had no idea about those caves. I'll find them soon. The ferry let's dogs on and taxi's have been pretty good with our dog if you let them know when you book it.

That's right. And the shape of the bulb doesn't matter as long as the base fits. Especially just for a nav light.

Watched this after watching the Atlantic crossing day 1-14 videos. Be careful when you de-ice the refrigerator!
I'm with Jade, very strong visual imagination but also an active internal dialogue. Pretty much like having an internal movie running all the time.
Cross with the best explanations - you deserve It!!!!

Yes! Husky brand! The seal on them is great, we've had these for almost 3 years
