I'm normally not a big fan of Sonic and timing outs, but after seeing how Acola trolled Tweek during their match, I feel this was absolutely warranted - GG's Sonix, Acola was playing to win at any means necessary, you have the right to do the same -
Tweek gave up mid set because of his mental fragility. Acola was just playing his game. The exact same thing happened in Grand Finals, but no one seems to be blaming Sonix. I know Steve is broken, but there's already several top players who found ways to beat him. Look at Spargo, Miya and Sonix himself. Tweek's strat in that game was idiotic and ofensive to say the least, I can't blame Acola for not playing along.
@@NestorEspitia-rl5xoTbf Spargo and Sonix do have a naturally good match up against Steve with Cloud and Sonic which definitely helps, Miya just seemed goated when he was able to finally get over Acola that said and Gluto almost took it over Acola when the match up has always looked so desperate, I was sad he wasn't able to clutch it but definitely an impressive showing in terms of finding solution in a match up
@@tomrejor4842Webbjp also played an amazing game against Acola this same weekend, it was a shame he couldn't clutch it out at the end, but he tried. That's why I cannot defend Tweek for his showing tonight. He just gave up.
@@NestorEspitia-rl5xothat could be somewhat true about Tweek if you know him well. But outsdie of that, what unfolded didn't look like mental fragility at all. It was painful to watch, which means far more painful to play against. Tweek simply doesn't have the characters to give him a good match up vs Steve.
@EbonySeraphim His characters are fine. He just hasn't spent even a small fraction of the time that Miya and Sonix have working on the Steve matchup
I like how Steve took the title of the most hated character in smash ultimate away from Sonic.

Reversal time out against someone who’s been trying to time you out all match is akin to reverse 3-stocking a t-bagger. Was immensely satisfying to see it happen lol.

I was waiting for this comment, i hate sonic gameplay, but i was cheering for sonix so hard on this set.
Same, dawg. Normally I absolutely despise the time out style but seeing Steve lose after playing so lame for 7 minutes straight is very satisfying.

@@NestorEspitia-rl5xo He played. He didn't camp during grands. I see two moments where Sonix and Spargo took some time waiting for the other to pive but they were *both* doing it. So Sonix did nothing wrong in grands.
@@vzy8354 Acola was also playing during his game against Diddy. Mining, crafting and building blocks si his style of play. It was Tweek who decided to stop playing the game out of mere frustration, and that's exactly the same thing Sonix did during his last game against Spargo. Have you ever seen someone who actually beat Acola doing that? I like Tweek, his Diddy is one of my my favorite characters to watch, but what he did yesterday was lame and just sad. And people are somehow blaming Acola... I'm sorry, but You guys are just biased against the japanese players.

In general, I don't like watching sonic. But for some reason it is pleasing to my eyes when sonic destroys Steve and then runs away from him giving him no chance. The camper is camped out. Good job Sonix.

@AbstractVen0m acola definitely has some technical skill, I am not denying that. He has good parries, good techs, etc... the only issue is, just how broken Steve is in general so it's hard to really get a read on his skill level.

この試合は結果以上に内容でソニックスが圧倒してて本当に気持ちが良かったし嬉しかった。ただ、2ゲーム目のあの%で空後で飛ぶの訳分からんしなんでこんなに内容で圧倒してるのに1本取られなきゃ行けないんだって少し腹たった。やっぱスティーブ見てるとあったまるね！！

Gen 2 DLC's characters really hurt the game and Sonix is the cure for that. Is not fun at all, but is necesary

@TK breezy I know you prob won’t see this, but at about the 14 minute mark Sonix went for that “risky” high up air because acola had no stone to anvil, so it was just good timing to go for it, not high risk. ❤ you tho

I was watching the whole stream and this match was terrible, watching sonix painfully fight Acola and Acola scrambling in playstyle fighting against him put me to sleep. Im never this negative about anything smash related, but this sliced the cake fr.

Y'know, Sonic is lame and all, but I can manage to respect the skill of a sonic player like Sonix or the skill of almost any player's character in this game. On the other hand, I just cannot respect Acola as a player because he plays Steve. Steve just crosses that line where if I were a competitive player I'd have quit by now and I'd only play in tourneys where he's banned.
I wasn't around for SM4SH, but I wouldn't be surprised if people felt this was about Bayo back then 😕

Ngl I absolutely love seeing Acola lose, it seems like the top players have finally adapted to the cheesy bullshit. Nothing against him as a person pf course, I just hope that these losses encourage him to actually think more than just spamming back air, sitting behind blocks and throwing out Minecarts 1000 times per match. He's clearly a good player but he gets blinded by how broken Steve is.

I see many people who wanted Acola loss cause the match against Tweek, but he also passed the line with Gluttony. That match Gluto almost won, but well, Steve. The abstract: Sonix is our Hero.
Also, with this match, I noticed something: the characters with high speed can win against Steve. WEBBJP almost won to Acola, and Sonic is the most quick character in the game... that's the Achilles heel.

Acola is too carried by Steve. Aegis is arguably top 3, but doesn't carry enough.

He’s not this bad in basically any other matchup, this is only boring because it’s against Sonic. If sonic didn’t have spindash and approached normally, this matchup wouldn’t be a timeout fest. Y’all just dogging on Acola for playing correctly. Even if spectating it is awful, you gotta respect the determination.
I came into Acola vs Tweek, rooting for Steve. Tweek didn't deserve that though.
So I came here looking for vengeance, and Sonix delivered. You could tell he didn't want to deal with it in the first match too 😂
Sparg0 might be one thing but Acola really should focus on finding an answer to sonix first. His steve wont do and I dont believe that his aegis can reach a point where its beating Sonix. Sonix also is amazingly consistent , while sparg0 might stumble across the way. If acola ever wants to win a supermajor again he needs an answer to Sonix first. Right now I can see only Miya, Sparg0 and sonix winning them
