Tommy kicks ass. I bet lots of people could play this material, although not a single one of them would sound like this. More love drummers! It's not a contest!

Consistency and nuance of hits/dynamics was all there. Tommy is one of my favorite drummers, and both he and Yamaha drums brought life to this song and delivered big - both sounded great!

Tommy Aldridge playing "Amphibia" (Patrick Rondat).
The recording of this album (Amphibia) is a great memory !
The bass- Patrice Guers, guitars- Patrick Rondat, and drums- Tommy Aldridge, were recording live at Ferber Studios in Paris.

Helps if you LOOK the part...Tommy is LEGEND...end of story. Anybody that does not get Tommy, does not get Tommy. No point discussing. Ignorant of history,--educate yourself. Tommy IS rock drumming. Rock drumming is not prog rock, fusion, funk, jazz...it is a style of its own and Tommy defines this genre. If you do not like the genre, this is a different argument or conversation. Stay on topic folks...

So many people going on about soul!
Here's what needs to be understood. The only person who can adjudicate feel is the person behind the set. If you don't think there is feel here because he feels different than you, then you are demonstrating a lack of knowledge. Tommy is a great player. He's got phenomenal energy as a live performer, can drive a groove like a freight train, and has a great vocabulary around the set. There's no reason to think his playing his bad.
