I enjoyed watching this match. I am embarrassed to say I did not know who Mickey Krause was before this video. My apologies sir, I know who you are now! Incredible performance! His break is surgical. It seemed like he was making the 1 Ball and at least one additional ball on each break. His speed and positioning were essentially flawless. Niels seemed to catch some bad luck during this match. Great jump at the 3 ball into the side, caught the tip and scratched. Great 9 Ball Bank that rattled and came out. A kick on the 2 Ball that rattled as well. Near the end I thought his breaks and runouts from his wins 5 - 10 were fantastic. I learned a lot from watching these two experts, and will try to incorporate some of what I saw into my game. Thanks, Neils!
Commenting after the 3rd rack: Mickey can really play! After such an amazing career, you are incredibly lucky to have a prodigy like that, Niels! And from your adoptive home country no less. Sådan!
Nils, you're playing like me here lol. Either the room is too hot and you needed to take off your jacket, or it was just one of those days. BTW, only a confident true champion like yourself would show the realistic ups and downs of this game. Thanks for posting this. And yes, Mickey was shooting pretty amazingly here.
Mickey was impressive to watch at Derby City Classic. Seemed to be in action quite a bit. 00:35:49 is a shot you would not think a player his age would have. He has come a long way in the past 3 years or so. The magic rack was not your friend. He had the wing going in and the fourth row ball kicking in the bottom ball on the regular.
Love me some Niels, to be sure - have watched you play stellar pool over the years, and be a cold blooded killer when it matters - tourni time. But part of getting better is being your own toughest critic. You got beat badly in this match because you played poorly, by your standards, and not because the other guy was breaking and running - at least not through the first 10 games. Here are the turning points in the first 10 games: Rack 1 - safety on 6 ball left full view. Run out Mickey. Rack 2 - fouled on kick shot on 2 - big ball. Run out Mickey. Rack 3 - B&R Mickey. Rack 4 - B&R Mickey. Rack 5 - missed a bank on 7 and sold out on leave. Run out Mickey. Rack 6 - Bad leave after 5 ball duck, safety battle, missed jump on 6, Run out Mickey. Rack 7 - B&R Mickey. Rack 8 - Bad leave on 3, missed 3 ball cut to restricted pocket. Run out Mickey. Rack 9 - Bad leave on 7 after combo, bad leave on 9, missed cut on 9 to corner. 9 Ball Mickey. Rack 10 - Missed a routine 7 ball for an easy 8, 9 out. Run out Mickey. Point is, you had chances in 7 games and you had good chances in several. Gotta own it Niels! Did not tall after 10th game, but you were not your usual killer self.
This is the difference between the US and the Euros. Niels wants to advance the future generations and we are too worried about the fight of the night. Friggin' sad really.
Yes, bit of fatigue from the long trip including world champs in Poland. Plus lot of prep with the new software. Goto off to a poor start and then tough to catch up :)
Yeah I was still bit drained from the long trip I just had prior. Holland/Taiwan/Poland. Sometimes you gotta embrace the bad play and learn from everything 😄👍🏼
This is new cloth i assume? A lot of balls are falling that ,, shouldnt" fall in. Mickey was playing really well had some luck sometimes, but hey thats 9 ball. Did you played for something i am really curious champ?
Mickey makes ball on the break, but does not notice, turns table over to Niels who has an open shot! It was rack 24, score was 19 to 4 . Check it out, both players missed that!
It was the World Championships... the World Cup is in a few months. And also, the Niels/Mario quarterfinals match was on Table 2 and was streamed free by Matchroom on RUclips. One of the best matches of the entire tournament, hill-hill with a lot of great shot making.
So the Terminator is human! We’ve all been there- insane rolls cause us to start playing tight. Mickey is a 760 beast but he gotta buy a lottery ticket the rolls he kept getting 😂. Neils power draws bumps the 8 AND gets hooked. 1/300 chance lol.
Cr8 tip video s could u do a video that would be good for a break and clear best way I know its not aways 100 % .also not nine ball but 15 balls as I'm in Scottish leage ì year
Watch for the rack where Mickey breaks, makes a ball in bottom right corner pocket, has a clear shot but neither player notices and Neils takes the open shot. Thought it was rack 20 but must have been later than that ‘cause I looked.
@@medallion39 Exactly one of the things I love about Niels' channel - he keeps it real - everyone is human. Same principle in his uncut practice videos - shows not just the good stuff but also shows the misses and struggles - great for us to see!
Niels turned Mickey into a monster player!
I played Mickey in Derby City banks this year. He ran through me like he'd left the toaster on at home.
😅😂
hahaha love that one liner :)

Damn that kid plays great!👊

I would like to see you do more sets like this against who ever will play you. Maybe win the next time,,lol. That was some good shooting.
Neils you should like your own commentary over this and explain why you did what you did and how. That would be awesome

Living in the US is like paying to get lobotomized
Hey Niels, what size is your shaft? 12.4? Do you use a nickel radius or dime? Thanks Todd
Quite impressive. Niels not at his best, but still no slouch.

Haven't seen Niels in such a bad shape. Go and have some rest Champ!

Is that a Sang Lee edition Predator that Mickey plays with?
Hey Niels, I can not really tell from here; but is Mikey doing an pre-strokes?
Where did you guys play, Mickey's basement?
Basement of a school close to where he lives. Local private club

You had a good run in the world cup this year. Too bad we couldn’t see a single rack of you because they didn’t upload any match for you in youtube.

Table 3 day 4 😄👍🏼
In other words, everything you said is incorrect............lol
Niels is still my favorite athlete from Netherlands after Leike Klaver😂🤣😛
@39:47 never noticed niels has a slip stroke

I wanna see Mickey up against the Filipinos, like RAGA, BIADO, ARANAS, and JOHAN CHUA.
He’s played in Philippines. He beat Efren in one pocket (on RUclips) in Philippines. Do believe he lives, or is from the Philippines
I won't get off the toilet for a very long time. My wife will hate me.
😂😂😂
I didn’t watch the whole thing so anyone who did please tell me if it’s true; Three and a half hours of play and they didn’t say a word to each other.
well, i didn't hear/see them talking, so yes. Great match, what a performance of Mickey

He’s from Philippines.
