i am in year 13. Looking back, the GCSEs are not the end of the world. Trust me. you'll look back and think they are the easiest things ever. I went from getting 3s and 4s to 8s and 9s in literally TWO weeks. My tip is dont bother rewriting notes, find summarized info online (theres so much available) then solve past papers. seriously do every one you can.
How many hours should i do per day? and how many subjects
bruh finna learned my whole geography course in 2 days
THIS. ik people who went from average GCSE grades to all As at A level, also flashcards are NOTES. they're literally summarized info and it even gives ability to even retest yourself

Remember don’t stress about GCSEs they aren’t too important, as long as you get what you need for college/sixth form. I came out of school with nothing, re sat my English and maths got 5s and now I’m on my way to becoming a teacher.
They are still very important
@@happine yes they are important but if you do bad doesn’t mean your life’s over.

I am currently in year 11 and I am about to take my gcse's in 4 weeks time and I feel so stressed and pressured but after watching this video it has motivated me to become more optimistic in my studies and how I should study.
(I did pretty well for my gcse's and I am currently in sixth form, good luck to those who are about to sit their gcse's)
what school?
you can do it!, trust me I feel the exact same way, but it's never too late!! :)
4 weeks? ur so lucky my first exam is in 8 days
@daisy no way good luck!! 😩
GIRL SAME OMG
What I got from this video:
Full pass papers, mark schemes: keywords, timing, time practice : give yourself less time to train and encourage yourself , blurting, do not re read notes so many times, use flash cards, motivation, intrinsic motivation! Doing something becomes you want to do it and enjoy it: from within, fall inlove with learning and tell yourself you are lucky to be able to learn, stop focusing on future rewards, prioritise learning, eat healthy, wake up the same time everyday , have a routine, stay productive, workout, to do list, take walks etc, discipline
Girl just now I was crying because of the stress for doing my GCSE when I haven't barely study at all and my grades are always 3-5, but this video has motivated me a lot!! I'm thankful that I found this just after crying lol, is like a way of telling me to not give up! So thanks for uploading this video!! 💞
Honestly this is the exact same situation I am in rn, because I haven’t revised before I’ve lost all motivation to try in these last couple of weeks

I have about 6 days left in my April half-term holidays and have done pretty much no revision for the past 11 days. I told myself before the holidays that I would revise every day and printed a bunch of past papers that I haven't done. This video made me realise that GCSEs are a lot easier than what people make them out to be, and that you don't need too much effort to get 8s and 9s. I'm gonna try to do my best in these exams by doing past papers, and I will come back to this comment when I'm either doing my exams or when I'm done with GCSEs. Good luck to everyone in their revision!
I'm currently on spring break and my exams are in a month and I also told myself I was going to start revising but the most I've done is like an hour 😭. Good luck on your revision!
gl!!!
In’Sha’Allah you’ll pass your GCSEs , you’ve got this❤
we can do this, i have been going over topics but need to start doing past papers properly.. no need to stress because stressing wont help me get the grades i want.
First of all to anyone reading this comment, please don't stress about IGCSE. At this point I really recommend ditching note taking because firstly It's too time consuming, second of all it's just really ineffective. Just anyone doing Edexcel Maths and Sciences, just go either save my exams or physics and math tutor for summary notes (It's a godsend trust me). Then start to read through the information and them memorize it. (Personally I cover up the information and write down what I can remember), then do past year papers after that to help reinforce and consolidate your memory. Remember It's never too late to start and stay hopeful. Good luck!
i have my gsces in 1 month and i’ve been spending wayyy too much time stressing abt it rather than actually studying 😭i feel so overwhelmed with work and i’m scared that i won’t get enough time, but this video really helped ty!!💗

some people just cant study ages before the exams. I'm studying for mine one after the other
what did u get
Note: make sure to take into account topics that will and won’t be included in your exam when looking through which topics were most frequent, you don’t wanna heavily revise something then figure out it won’t be in the exam last minute
I am in year 11 at the moment and have only a few weeks until I take my GCSEs and this video has helped me think about why I am trying and what I should be doing more of. My problem is I get distracted so easily and find it hard to concentrate. I will try studying properly again tmrw bc I am only a grade off of what I need for college in my subjects. Thank you for this motivational video 😊
Got most B's and a couple A's in my GCSEs, used them to get into A levels and never showed them to anyone since. They're important for A levels or college but not really anything else so while its nice to have 8's and 9's don't feel bad if you get a 4 or 5 because that's really all you need.
Nah I need at least a 7 to fo the courses I want in alevel
I need 7s in most stuff to get into a medical program at uni

i kept seeing this video pop up in my recommended but avoided it like the plague because that’s what i’ve been doing with my exams but now i’ve finally watched it and feel more motivated than ever! thank you
I'm way past my GCSE's but i just wanted to say respect for making this and trying to help people :-)
I'm in year 13 and watched this as advice for my alevels, thank you so much :)). Although I feel like I've been revising okay, the imposter syndrome has been getting to me and after only 3 days back at school I'm already stressed, but this helped. To all the year 11s you've got this, I wish I had advice but my gcses were cancelled lol, just remember they aren't the end of the world, take care of yourself, and think about that long summer you're so close!!

Good luck to all of you this exam season !! ^^ I know you can do it !
This is a great video, going to bed now so I can’t follow it but tomorrow after school I’m gonna get to work on everything in this video. I’m not so stressed about getting nines in everything like some of the people in these comments which I think is gonna help my stress levels coz my goals are easier to achieve. Anyway thanks for this vid, it’s already motivated me I don’t know why schools don’t give us tips like this
This is so inspiring for young girls everywhere including my daughter, you are an inspiration to all young people who want to achieve the best they can.
my gcses are in 30 days and im so glad i found this video in time! thank you so much sarah, this video is so helpful💗
currently in my fourth year (year 11 in england) of highschool and my first two exams are in THREE weeks. I'm so glad I've found this video because I had been taking notes for about a month now and I've finally come to the conclusion that it's not doing anything to better my learning.
just found your channel after searching for reassurance... I always get 5s and 4s in science and my grades for maths dropped. Grades = my self-worth; tbh I was looking forward to year 11 but a lot of external things happened to me this year and I'm just as glad to start a fresh academic year and leave this one behind. I was scared and embarrassed to achieve low grades, I have extrinsic motivations but I will try to fall in love with learning to make it more enjoyable. thank you this video actually helped me a lot.
Thanks for the tips ! Please continue posting such informative videos

Good luck everyone :) We can do this!!!
I’m also going to be sitting my exams and this has really helped me a lot to revise because my school did an Easter revision session but I didn’t find it very effective as it was just mainly doing a few questions that was it
Most effective revision guide out there. ( Full stop) let's just say I might need to go over this video time and time again before I do my GCSE exams. 😅
thank you for this! im in year 10 but I'm taking RS and english lit this year and im pretty nervous! my plan for the next few weeks is just to make sure i know all my quotes and im confident in answering questions forward english, and ensuring i can remember everything for RS because a lot of what i struggle with is just knowing every topic in enough detail to answer it in depth. your tips were really helpful and I like how you included both actual study tips and advice on motivation etc because that's something i struggle a lot with, im already pretty burnt out with actual gcses on top of mocks for my other subjects and im not even in year 11 yet haha

Just wanted to say that this is no question the best video of its kind and i think this is going to be very helpful for me. Also I read in the comments that you were making a video about procrastination and I think that would be insanely helpful. My god...so freaking helpful. Please do more of these.
These videos make me feel really guilty haha. I’m currently on a gap year after sixth form and I’m constantly regretting how I revised for my GCSEs. I barely revised, often watching movies the night before exams, and so I left with 4s, 5s, 6s and a 7, but I know for a fact that I was a grade 9 student who never put the effort (as became apparent with my high A level grades when I DID put in the effort). While it hasn’t impacted me much (I’m going to a Russel group university in September!) I still regret it, so good on you and anyone watching this video for putting the effort in! You’re already doing better than most :)
Hard work > talent
so does that mean your gcses impacted your university choice?
@@ariel5765 essentially
@@ariel5765 They didn't - I'm just regretful because I know I could've done better. There are some university choices that look at GCSEs, but usually only Maths and English. The university I got an offer from only takes into account A levels :)

This video is so inspirational 💗
how do you remember 2 years worth of knowledge in so many subjects? i feel like i would explode already... i feel stressed whenever i think about my exams honestly...
I know a lot of students are feeling this way! It's completely natural and having so many subjects is the most difficult aspect of GCSEs. My advice would be to try to stay as present as possible and only focus on oner subject at a time. The best way to do this is to come up with a revision timetable which makes sure that you revise each subject at least once a week. That way you can revise for one subject without worrying about the fact you're not revising for the others. Good luck! 😁📊
Thankyou so much for this video! It’s really helpful. 🙂

Hallo Sarah! Thank you for these tips I appreciate them. Have a lovely day, take care.
Watching this when my GCSE’s start next week, and I have done nothing :)
I have my GCSEs in roughly 7 weeks, I have just started revising (yes I know it's late but better late than never) and I am aiming for grades 5-7 in all my subjects other than maths, english language and my chosen options in which I want to get a 7-9. This video was very helpful so thank you!
note: in my mocks I got a 6 in maths, 6 in english language, 6 in english literature, 6 in computer science, 5,4 in sciences, 5 in Religious Studies and German (foundation since I'm not too bothered, for those who do German foundation you might know how easy it is to get a 5), and a 3 in history (don't want to fail at GCSE)
@@jqeybro I was 5 marks off a 6 in my maths mock. Reckon we both get 7s in the final exams??
@@SciK. Hopefully, I might even try and aim for higher but I think if you were 5 marks off a 6 in the mock then you can definitely get a 7 or above in the GCSE as long as you do past papers (mostly) and the stuff Sarah talked about in this video
@@jqey i've been stuck on a 6 for so long and i don't know how to improve to a 7 or 8. do u just suggest practice questions (i've been doing them btw)
@@clover7936 Absolutely, doing past papers and them marking them to find out what you got wrong is simple but incredibly effective. It's the same for any subject really and since I haven't made any flash cards or mind maps or any of that sort, it's best for me. I personally use mathsgenie because it has edexcel maths past papers and mark schemes, and there is also videos on youtube on the mathsgenie channel that go through the past papers if you don't understand something.
Thank-you so much, this video was very helpful!
Thank u ur literally a godsend I have my finals soon and this was a lifesaver
GCSE's were easy when looking back on it, completed my a levels last year and found that a lot more work was needed for 3 subjects than the 9 i had in GCSE. In yr 10 i was getting 4-5 on every subject on the end of year exams. It was until 1 week before yr11 started i began to get worried about the work load and the pressure of exams. Spent Sep-Nov doing 3 hours every night, 1HR when i get home, 2HRs after dinner. I caught up will everything in time for the mocks which were in JAN and still felt worried that i wouldnt do well, instead a didnt get a grade below 7, mostly 8s. I found that a burn out didnt come from over studying, instead it came from being scared of failing and constantly thinking of "WHAT IF" i fail, dont do well etc....
Trust me GCSEs are straight forward, just notes, video explainations and most importantly your board EXAM QUESTIONS on specific topics. If you ace exam questions topic you will ace the exam!
Good luck on your exams!!

aww thanks!! i think it depends on what works for you :)
