I remember before this album came out besides almost easy, this was the first song they teased and it was of Matt screaming a little disappointed he didn’t attempt it in the beginning ☹️
Great video ! Seen this song performed in Vegas I think at THE Joint with Death by Stereo when A7X was promoting this album for 1st time. 1 of the best shows I've ever seen by both bands💯✔🌶🔥🍸 So glad I had chance to see them perform with THE REV!
@@154ahmadavicenna9 I think he can remember them fine, he either just cant sing in that style, doesnt want to get political live or simply doesnt feel like singing them lol
I love this song. My only request is you hold the camera a bit better. Focus on one member of the band for like 15-20 seconds then the next person. And maybe less shakiness? Other than that great video!
How to they time it up correctly to play the revs vocals at the right moment? Always makes me wonder if bands are lip syncing (which I know avenged sevenfold doesn’t)
I think they have a backing track with the Rev's vocals, and the drummer hears a metronome or something like this, and he plays for that. And this way, the Rev's parts comes exactly on time. In Hungary we have a band who sometimes plays an entire show with their deceased singer's vocals. I think they are using the same technic.
It has nothing to do with lip synching because the instrumentals are right on time with the original song. Basically the drummer plays to a metronome and as long as hes on time the revs vocals will play right on time
Martijn de Groot no, sound engineers don’t touch that stuff. It’s a track the band plays too. They have a click in their ears for tempo and I’m sure they’ve got the piano tracks added in there too. It’s all operated by the drummer usually.
I was there, and if I remember it went in this order 1. The Stage 2. Afterlife 3. Hail to the King 4. Paradigm 5. Beast and the Harlot 6. Buried Alive 7. So Far Away 8. Nightmare 9. God Damn 10. Chapter Four 11. Exist 12. Higher 13. Wish You Were Here 14. Bat Country 15. Critical Acclaim (Encore) 16. Alittle Piece of Heaven (Encore) 17. Unholy Confessions (Encore)
2015 was such a great year for matt, his screams were tight, he was reaching them awesome high notes and just an overall balance between the stage and nightmare voice, now he aint putting any effort into the screams, which is a huge bummer
José Cruz it isn't that doesn't care as much... He physically can't do too many screams since he blew a vein in his neck, plus he was incorrect screaming methods....hince johnny now screamming
Jose Taborr He physically can, if he wanted to go to the nightmare voice again he could, he's still young. It's all in his singing technique, they way he sings now is way cleaner and can reach higher notes with ease, something that was really hard to do all the time when he used a lot of rasp. His screams from 2009 - 2012 were well done, his early wtf and stst ones were not, back then was when he popped the vein, not in the nightmare era. He basucally traded correct screaming and a ton of rasp for really clean vocals and high notes, notice how he used to not hit the high notes before but now he can do them with ease, it's all in his technique. His new voice sounds great with the new stuff, from CoE to hail to the king, just not as great with wtf songs
Matt doesn't want to damage his voice, he has said this numerous times already. I wish people would give him a break already. Not everyone wants to hear someone screaming through a song especially when you get older. It gets tiring. Plus they've already said they are passed the screaming.
I'm kind of disappointed that none of The Rev's replacements (with 2 of them being veteran drummers than Jimmy) play the first chorus the way it was composed.
His voice is the same, the scream damage happened over 10 years ago, he is just using a different technique. He can and is still fully able to scream like a beast :)
Gary Lopez but Brooks was the best thing since the rev but if only Mike Portnoy could've stayed for more than just nightmare but dream theater does mean a lot to him as well
Solid points. Respect. My only thing is. I feel the same about queensryche after Chris and Geoff left. The magic is gone. Same with ASF. I do love Brooks. Loved him I. B4G and infectious. I just think even musically there's nothing magic about it. That's all
It’s so sad hearing revs voice even tho he isn’t there
Even The Rev has gone, this song still used The Rev voices the part of chorus and i'm so thankful :') Rest in peace knife master.
about time they added this song back to the live setlist! nothing like it, such a driving song with cool effects like the dive bombs
Matt sounds pretty good in this, even though he couldn't scream at the beginning, etc, still sounds really good.
The dueling guitar in this version is sooo fucking good man wtf
2:04 i love that shitttt ohhh my goddd
I miss the rev I want it back!!!
I remember before this album came out besides almost easy, this was the first song they teased and it was of Matt screaming a little disappointed he didn’t attempt it in the beginning ☹️
I think johnny can scream for the beginning of this song
He should, that would be amazing. He should for when Matt can't.
Syn seems to be improvising a bit more in the last few shows… or is it just me?
Was there this show was amazing!

Honestly sounds better than the version they played at the LBC. If only for Syn’s insane dive bombs in this version.
The dive bombs are actually ridiculous
Except The Rev was there in the LBC , A7X always sounds amazing though.
this song isnt 100% good live because for some fucking reason they cut out the rant verses which are damn badass
@@PedroVieira-jv2ef from the beginning, Matt didn't sing the rant verse because he's having a hard time remembering those long ass rant lol

we just need to wait 1 more years until the rev comes back.
And hes gonna play the drum that saved on hard rock hotel and surprise everyone :)
He's gonna be the knife master + he would have tamed the stallion duck
Jimmy_YT RBLX he’s also gonna play the drums from Taste of Chaos at Pigeon Forge
Cool dive bomb!
Synyster Gates Hi
I like how everyone is in black then theres brooks wearing bright green
He got a style of his own🤫
Miss the rev😥😥foREVer
I was here!
Nice!
Amazing quality!!
I hope they play this again at rock on the range
Moto-Z Giraffe I'm still salty that their set got shortened
I was there! It was so fucking cool!
Grandiosos
Wish they had played this song a penn state :(
Synyster Gates🎸♥️
I dont get why people are saying its better with Rev when they're playing Revs voice during his parts. Or do you mean the vibe?
Still sounds just about the same as before.. did they use the revs voice from recording in this..? miss him
Haloman 1467 yes, they used old recordings of the rev
This was on my birthday :( To bad they didnt come to Phoenix
I like how the whole band is in default black rockstar clothes and the drummer was just like - green t-shirt ftw
Nooo I used to be able to hit that noteee. Fucking puberty bro

I don't think they were shaking intentionally there, pal.
just came to this to check something anyone know why they leave a part of the song out ?

Love it how in this performance and other 2018 performances, zacky can’t be fucked to sing lmfao
What the setlist at this show??

ay, go to google and type: Avenged sevenfold live setlist.
There is a website that gives their setlist for every live show.
Setlist.fm is the website for that stuff, pretty reliable

José Cruz because he can't
Haywire Needy I think he can still do it but he just chooses not to so that he doesnt hurt his voice.

Rip Matt voice
