I'd count it not charging any faster as a good thing since it'll extend the lifespan of the batteries. A lot of the different kinds of fast charging will really batter the technology.
Wait actually? I didn't think the charging speed could actually effect the battery itself. That means fast charging can actually damage the product? That's... Worrying knowing that :/
@@cokaneds Well, it mainly affects lower quality batteries that haven't been rated for charging at a particular rate, but it will still put more strain on any battery regardless. Device manufacturers these days don't really care about longevity as much as they care about making you buy the newer version in 12 months, so the lifespan being shortened is not high on their list of priorities (they're still likely to last a year before the capacity drops off a cliff).

@@cokaneds Anything, & induction ones can also dump a lot of heat at the same time (depending on device; controllers should be fine). It's not a massive concern unless you want to keep using the same battery daily for several years though, by which time the controller may have worn out anyway, & it's nowhere near as bad as overcharging. You can also quite easily replace the internal batteries yourself if you do kill one; I've got replacements for mouse batteries off eBay for example, & none are custom-fabricated.

Well that's the issue, most things I charge are used daily and I have had fast chargers before except "luckily" the wires themselves so far have all had something wrong with them over time where they would work still but end up charging much slower. Idk how that happens but it's happened to about 3 different sets of charging cables. One of the things was to charge my phone but I don't know if it effected it or not. I generally take things off the charger as soon as it's charged as I know it's bad to overcharge so probably should be fine.
just got it today, definitely is going to make my setup look cleaner.
I like that this comes with its own mains plug, big plus for me. The only thing i don't like about it, is that it doesn't have some kind of charging lights on the dock itself.
The lights on controller indicates charging.
@@jbway86 Yes i know, but they can be slow to pulse, and do go on at all when it's charged, so you're left wondering if its not sitting in the charger right or it's done charging.
Two simple lights in the dock to say if it's chargingvor done charging woukd have been nice, especially given how much the dock costs.
@@SpartasEdge I feel you. I have two controllers and swap between using one while one charges from console via USB-C. So no rush for me to get one yet. Really want it for style.
@@jbway86 It is a good charger overall I'll add. It plugs straight into the mains and straight into the joypad (via the socket underneath the thumbsticks), and like you say, looks pretty stylish 👍
My PS4 charger had lights on the charger it go red when battery is low then orange when half charged then blue when full charged I kinda liked that
This charging dock is alot tidier option than a usb cable hanging from the front of the PS5.
Just got mine today. Nice and clean look. No led indicator but that's fine because the dualsense touch pad shows how it's charging and when its finished

It’s really useful you can have one controller charged ready to go when the other one gets low just swap them out keep on gaming. No cords to plug into the console
They force kind of force you to get a dock especially if you have more than 2 controllers. They can be annoying to sit in the dock too

@@Karter_playzz Maybe too late but one is the power plug and the other is the block that powers it, you just need to insert both, like the PS2 Slim does

I like it but i agree should be able to plug into the usb port an also should be able to slide an lock into place on top of the ps5! If it was built backwards of how it is now it would work! Like if you could just turn it around

Just purchased one seems to work fine. Only issue I’ve found is that it doesn’t seem to fit snuggly into the slots like my ps4 pro controllers did in the enegizer dock I had.

after owning this for over a year one of the tiny flimsy pins snapped andd therefore on the docks no longer charge my controller

I was looking into charging stands because I thought it would be convenient and time saving, but if it's that finicky to get it connected to the charging pins I might just keep using USB c cables. Do you agree?

@@talissonfigueiredo when charging there’s an orange light once it stops charging the light goes out. Plus you can’t overcharge a battery once it’s charged it can’t hold anymore charge and I’m sure these chargers are tested to shut off and not provide anymore currant once fully charged
When mine is charging I don’t see the orange light. Ist charging but there’s no orange light.
This will not work if you have silicon case on your controller. I am returning mine.

Another product to take up a mains socket so I made my own power cable to connect it to the back usb ports on the PS5.
I couldn't figure out how this thing worked, thanks for explaining how it uses the bottom port, I couldn't find any solid info about that on the Sony site.
Only reason I just like a USB is it can update my controller and can switch remotes out when they die. So the kit doesn’t make sense to me but it’s badass

Yeah, I’d say this is a purchase if you have at least two controllers. Charge one and play with the other and go back and forth it. It’s really a solid purchase.

The controllers dont hold very well at all on to the charging station. If I lean the charging station to the left or right the controllers will fall off easily.

eh, it's hard to give this a go. they could at least makes it magnetic so placing it on the station felt more premium and easy. my mi band 5 (cheap smartwatches) had this mechanic, where the charger clips unto the watch magnetically. the fact that it's wobbly af when placing dualsense controller makes it so bad

I just ordered one, but I wonder, why would you want the option to directly plug it into your ps5? This way it's much more convenient right? Especially when you have the pulse headset as well, these things drain very quickly

Does it stop charging the controller once it’s fully charged or does it keep charging it despite it being full?
Just got one looks nice but definitely too much cable for neatness and controllers not stable at all easily knock it out unlike my previous ps4 one where it actually connected to the controller meaning sturdier lastly why couldn’t it be one cable a usb-c can charge your controller with that same cable instead of 3 separate cables over complicating things imo

So when you're playing and one goes dead. Can you put it on the charger and grab the other one that is charged? And by grabbing the other charged controller, does one have to do anything so that the system recognizes or realizes that you are using another controller?
you still need to press ps button on your new controller. it don't work as seamless as you described. at that price point I expected more like magnetic fit or feature you mentioned before. but it really is just a charger and nothing more.
a regular dualsense already had feature where it stops charging after it's full no matter what charger you use. I tested it, and the dualsense itself is already smart. so this charging station is just a decoration and acts the same as regular charger
I've added see custom paddles to the back of the controller, would there be enough space for this to fit?

Hello. Once you put the controller, it blinks an orange light once. Is this how it is? or does it keep blinking throughout the entire charging process? Mine blinks only once, when u put it in the charging dock.

@@ACIDZZZ1 The Charging Station has to be plugged into a power outlet to be able to charge controllers.
There is, unfortunately, no ability to charge the station. Hope that answers your question.

Try new Gioteck charging dock for 2 ps5. I have it looks best and so easy to dock

Is the PS5 controller supposed to be pulsing while charging on it? Mine just pulses once after setting it on the dock and stops, I can’t tell if it’s charging or not.
Mine stays lit orange the entire time it's on the dock to indicate its charging.

It lays horizontal, so I would wall mount a stand that stick out, cut it too size and lay dock on top of it.

The controller just flashes when you put the controller on the dock, not the whole time that the controller is charging
