This is Bobby's finest album IMO. Super solid work from all involved.

When I interviewed D.O.A he wrote the song “College Girl” with Bobby Brown in February 1991 during the last run of the Dont Be Cruel tour he told a great story behind the scene

Oh wow, I didn't realize how much Bobby did in the gap between Don't Be Cruel & Bobby in terms of the number of features he did! It only makes sense though because DBC kept this dude BUSY and everyone wanted a piece of the Bobby pie.
Hate to say it, but sometimes I wish he and Whitney never got together because there's no telling how far his solo career would've gone had it not been for the drugs, constant arrests, etc. that would come not too long after this album...
Regardless, DBC solidifies him as a legend!

It's a big what if when it comes to his career.Because that same wild behavior that made him a star also hurt him. People around him like producers, etc have said while DBC was blowing up his hunger and drive were going out the window and his ego/head was getting out of control.By the time the bobby album came out He didn't have the same drive. He was getting lazy,a party animal and comfortable with spending Whitney's money and Whitney was comfortable with him doing it just so she could watch him.He was already getting arrested and doing drugs before and during the DBC era.So how his career would have went with or without Whitney in his life would have been up to him.If he had a mentor he probably would have did better.

The bobby album really is a GREAT album!🎉 possibly as strong as don't be cruel as a whole! Bob ran into the mj effect. Which is when you release the biggest album of your career your next album is compared to the monster(thriller to bad) same thing happened later to usher after confessions when here i stand came out. Bobby album is awesome

This album was on point, especially the tracks that was produced by L.A. & Babyface and Teddy Riley. I also saw his "Bobby" tour, and his concert was one of the best concerts that I have ever seen! Bobby Brown was on top of his game, during this time period!

One of the best intros on all of RUclips is back again 🔥 Loved this review. Honestly, I didn't listen to this album fully until 2013, but I was satisfied with how solid his growth in sound and singing was. Nothing could top Dont Be Cruel, but he took the best elements from it and evolved it with the times. More Teddy Riley on this album, but that's never a bad thing! Even Guy got in the mix on Two Can Play That Game (It still puzzles me that, the movie with the same name, that Bobby Brown was in, didn't have this song on that soundtrack!). I'm right there with you in College Girl being the best song on this album, along with the one I mentioned above, One More Night, Til the End of Time, Get Away, & Something in Common

The problem with Bobby is that there s too much Teddy Riley Production. The album loses its appeal because so many songs feel the same. None of the songs are bad but there are just not enough exceptional songs from Teddy Riley. This is when too much of a good thing becomes repetitive. To me most of the songs on Bobby seem like leftover over songs from The Future album from Guy. I think Bobby should've work more with Babyface like he did with Don't Be Cruel or some other producers to cut the monotony of the New Jack production that was phasing out at the time.

I felt the same way about the Dangerous album. There are some classics on there, BUT it just had too much Riley that all the songs sounded too much alike.
Sure, Quincy Jones had his fingerprints all over Bad, Thriller & Off the Wall but I think I was so used to the diverse tracks of those albums that Dangerous just didn't do it for me...

Bobby Brown got lost in the shuffle with this album as he took a long time with being married to Whitney Houston, the year of 1992 being jam packed
