      It wasn't until constant bitching from jordan about "dirty" plays to the refs from the Bad Boys year after year after getting destroyed that they changed rules to accommodate Jordan. The year after when they swept the Pistons Isiash and Dumars were injured.

    +Hooper Status

    If you replace 90's Gary Payton with Westbrook now in OKC, Durant would have already gotten at least a ring. He wouldnt mind getting 10pts and 12-15assists a game, instead of scoring 20+pts in a losing cause. And no, all the ones you have listed are score-first point guards. They all got that one thing in common. Gary Payton would have locked down all of them defensively. GP won DPOY in an era when Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Hakeem Olajuwon & Scottie Pippen were all still in their primes.

    All time 2-way players 1st Team (DT = All Defensive 1st team, DPOTY = Defensive player of the year):
    PG: Gary Payton (the only guy that could really give Jordan issues. 9 DT, 1 DPOTY which is crazy for a PG)
    SG: Michael Jordan (I needn't say a word about him. 9 DT, 1 DPOTY)
    SF: Scottie Pippen (Elite defender, MJ's partner in crime. 8 DT)
    PF: Tim Duncan (The GOAT PF, and still to this day an elite shot blocker. 8 DT)
    C: Hakeem Olajawun (IMO the best all-around center ever to play, 5 DT 2 DPOTY)
    2nd Team:
    PG: Magic Johnson (the best all-around player in history of the sport. Somehow never made a defensive team despite 1.9 SPG
    SG: Kobe Bryant (his defense will forever be underrated. 9 DT)
    SF: LeBron James (when he's locked in, he's the best wing defender in hoops right now. Somehow hasn't won a DPOTY yet. 6 DT)
    PF: Kevin Garnett (A slightly better defender than Duncan in their primes, but less offensive tools, and hasn't aged as well. Still has 12 DT and 1 DPOTY which is insanity)
    C: Dwight Howard (As sickened as I feel to put him over them, way better offense than Mutombo and Russell gives Howard the edge. 4 DT, 3 DPOTY)

      Magic was only an average defender, despite his high steal numbers. His height gave the Lakers opportunities to put him on the opponent's weaker scorers, no matter their position. I can't see having Dwight over plenty of other centers, the first coming to mind being Abdul-Jabbar.

      Julius Petraitis just cause they are better doesnt make it so you cant compare them. people compare kobe to jordan when jordans better. they are both the same position wise, shawn kemp is a althetic pf and griffin is the same and they both get their points in similar ways. chris paul one of the best defenders at point guard like gary was, both throw oops, both are good all around, both are fierce competitors, both trash talk. chris pauls better than gary though, kemps better than bg. at the end of blakes career he will probably be just as good as kemp if not better. they are a very similar it more ways than not. the clippers should move to Seattle since theirs 3 freaking teams in CA and that whole donald Sterling issue.

      Nate Davis Except Orlando. MJ was still re-establishing chemistry, granted, but he had already proven he was back to his old self that year and average 31 points, 7 boards, 4 assists, and 2.5 steals in the Magic series. The issue was Orlando's basically conceded SG and SF to Jordan & Pippen while Penny, Horace Grant, and Shaq dominated the other 3 and the Bulls had nobody to guard those spots, which is why they brought in Ron Harper and Rodman later on.

    • @Statalyzer

    The funny thing is he has so many plays better than a lot of these. I actually made more than 10 highlight videos covering his time with the sonics because his legacy is so overlooked and he is so misrepresented nowadays. This is a guy who dominated the game in a way very few players have ever done (on both sides of the floor). And people (who played against and watched) John Stockton, Kevin Johnson, Jason Kidd and Steve Nash often say they'd want Gary on their team. Charles Barkley even called him the best basketball player in the world in 1999. He even came literally one play away from beating the 2 seed Utah jazz (with a terrible team around him) in the 2000 playoffs. And I think if Kemp had managed to keep focused and stay in Seattle they probably win atleast one title from 98-02, Gary probably retires a Sonic and they probably stay in Seattle. Either way, I'm happy I got to see it the way it went down.

      They didnt get enough national tv coverage even if they had some games. He was very crafty with passing and defense. Quick and sly on offense. Shot pretty well and knew how to play all around basketball. Too bad Reign Man couldnt stay clean. They had a lot of good pieces in Seattle.

    Howard Schultz traded Payton to the Bucks for Ray Allen, then he traded the Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma for a shi#! ton of cash. What a smart businessman, enjoy that $$$ Howie. Congrats GP on induction to Hall, long live the Glove!!!

    • @jakobwithak3805
      @jakobwithak3805 9 лет назад

      He actually Didn't sell the supersonics the OKC douche bag owner had promised he would keep the team in Seattle, he's a fucking slime ball. Watch the 30 for 30 on it, it just shows how fucked up OKCs owner is.

    • @scumbagg5554
      @scumbagg5554 9 лет назад

      Jakob Krebs I blame Howard Schultz and the Seattle politicians. It's all about money, Schultz complained that he was losing money by owning the Sonics. Rich people don't own sports teams to make money, it's a hobby for them. Schultz is really that dumb, selling to an out of town buyer, and trusting that he wouldn't move the team. Bennet is a liar, but he could do what he wanted, it's his team now. Schultz made a tidy profit from the sell, and owes the city of Seattle, but like most rich guys, only cares about himself and his money.

    • @jakobwithak3805
      @jakobwithak3805 9 лет назад

      On the 30 for 30 they obviously claimed the stadium was the problem so Bennett proposed some ridiculous multimillion dollar stadium that would've taxed the city way too much, so Steve Balmer (current clippers owner) was like hey I'll throw 30 million to help that stadium. & Bennet fucking denied him bc it was all about moving the team, makes me sick. What's even worse is most supersonics fans I talk to mainly say "I don't wanna take someone else's team" it's pretty sad.
