@KaiserReinhard It looks like the Ghouls wife is probably the one that pitched the term to all the CEO's. Remember she was responsible for their marketing. So she helped her husband Cooper Howard become the spokeperson for vault tech witch coined Vault boy and his thumbs up. Even the blue and gold colors was inspired by her marketing. And then she pitched "War never changed" Bam. Makes sense that the head of marketing would be the spear head for all of vault tecs pitches and phrases and marketing.

They clearly haven't bothered trying to reclaim the area after the incident, I'd love to see why, whether it's the radiation, raiders, brotherhood, or just they lack the soldiers or even reason to try to resettle.

Because it is incredibly paradoxical idea that The Vault boy, the symbol of all vault dwellers and THE Symbol of Vaults protection against Radiation is a 200 (something) years old Ghoul pumped up with rads and is out to kill and destroy everyone and everything vaguely related to Vault Tec!

I love how Wilzig's line from the second episode came true for all three main characters: "But will you want the same things... when you've become a different animal altogether?" Cooper has regained some of his humanity, and is now in it for much more than just "the love of the game". Maximus got everything he ever wanted, only for his "victory" to taste like ashes. And Lucy's whole world just burned to the ground, to the point where she's ready to team up with the man who tormented her to hunt her father down. Not to save him this time, but to see some sort of justice done.

There's another taste of that when Lucy walks into Moldaver's HQ and says that she'd considered stuffing a grenade into the neck-hole of Wilzig's head, her plan being to walk in there and blow everyone up. What Lucy didn't know when she admitted that was that walking into Moldaver's home and blowing everyone up is exactly what Hank did when Rose wouldn't come back to the vault. Lucy illustrates the difference between her and her father by ultimately deciding not to blow up her enemies and, instead, choosing to "keep things civil." Lucy is actually the good person that Hank pretended to be.

@@houseofaction Aside from that, I don’t think the episode is really saying that Vault Tec necessarily did drop the bomb, just that they absolutely would if they decided it was necessary and they likely were involved in manipulating the conflict away from peace. There’s long been contradictory information about who launched first, and several factions that were at least considering starting it themselves including the Enclave, and message logs suggesting almost everyone was caught off guard with the war starting before they planned. The enclave had a lot of people caught away from their planned bunkers, the daughter of a Vault Tec senior exec that was high enough to lead that big of a meeting not being in a safe place at least suggests they may not have expected it either… They might intend it to be taken as “Vault Tec did start the war directly”, won’t know unless/until they show more about that later, but it would be very consistent for them to have just been giving us yet another manipulative faction with dreams of “winning” a nuclear war and underestimating the chaos.

All the reveals in this finale were CRAZY. Ive never played Fallout, so I had no idea about the lore. However, I loved this show, and the fantastic sets, practical effects and acting by Walton Goggin, Ella Purnell, Max Moten and Moises Arias were all outstanding in this show. The twist that Hank, as well as other Vault dwellers from 2077 like Betty and what's left of Bud Adkins, was responsible for nuking Shady Sands and killing thousands, including his own wife and Maximus's family, honestly blew my mind. Not to mention the fact that Cooper's wife and the entirety of Vault Co. starting the war, which is INSANITY, to begin with, is so incredibly dark and yet sadly extremely true to how I imagine a lot of governments and businesses would use a nuclear fallout to their advantage. It is also even more grim that you realise all the ideas that the meeting members were suggesting are all tasks that different Vaults are assigned to do in the actual Fallout Games as Vault Dwellers of the game since each Vault is tasked to do some meaningless and unethical experiments that are just a sick game for the Enclave (rich folks at the top). It was really satisfying seeing The Ghoul shoot Henry even if he survived, and Lucy having to kill her own barely alive mother just to stop her suffering as a Ghoul is so tragic, especially when all she wanted to do was to live her own life with Moldaver who actually loved her and give her children a better future. I really hope Maximus uses his power as a knight to do some real good, and I genuinely hope he can reunite with Lucy again because the two of them are too good for this world, and they deserve happiness together, as well as the Ghoul/aka Cooper. One thing I especially loved about this series is how every action in the show has some reaction or consequence at the end of the day, such as how Lucy lets all the Ghouls free, which is apparently very similar gameplay tactics to the original games that do the same thing having players's actions impact them.
I NEED THEM TO ANNOUNCE A SEASON 2! I especially hope that teasing at the end with New Vegas and the skull of a Deathclaw means a Season 2 is bound to happen.

As a player of the games(Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4), i was pretty happy they finally confirmed the long standing theory that Vault Tec dropped the first bombs. It was hinted at here and there, but never confirmed.
I have to say though, i'm a little bit worried about the lore with regards to NCR and New Vegas in particular.
NCR for example was the most powerful faction in probably all of North America in the decades before the show taking place, controlling much of the west coast. They were of course in decline by the time New Vegas happend(which is about ~15 years before the events of the TV show). They're kinda showing the NCR as if it no longer exists, especially since Shady Sands was the first capital of the NCR.
Another thing, apparently Shady Sands was bombed in 2277, while Fallout New Vegas takes place in 2281, and in the game there is not a single reference whatsoever of any NCR character that their capital has been bombed.
Lastly, Fallout New Vegas has 4 endings, so i'm worried with season 2 they'll have to make one of the endings canon.

With what we know from New Vegas, and the fact that House was the one shown to be skeptical about the vaults in that meeting, House did not go along with Vault-tec's plan.
Of course, the fact that Barb did not have her daughter with her when the bombs hit LA implies that Vault-tec may not have been the one to drop them afterall. The identity of the first to drop the bomb has always been left vague in the games, and ultimately it's not important. As per Fallout 2, "The details are trivial and pointless. The reasons, as always, purely human ones."

But getting to know *the* one who actually suggested it, after seeing in-game what they made innocent people do inside those vaults... It's worst than nightmare fuel. It's not just like Vault 32 or the things they were proposing in the table, just to name a few examples that will probably never come up in the future: making people descend into madness with subliminal white noise, yearly sacrifices that were never necessary, atrocious genetic experiments with a mutagenic virus, a vault malevolently designed to let pass just enough radiation to turn *everyone inside* into ghouls... 2:44 Sounds like they'll be a new West Coast Brotherhood of Steel. For context the Brotherhood was founded on the West Coast by former soldiers who saw the horrors of what West-Tek were doing behind closed doors, using military prisoners as test subjects for creating Super Solider that became the Super Mutants we know from the games. The goal was to keep tech from the hands of wastelanders so events like the Great War would never happen again.
But 2161 the events of the first game the BOS were active. By 2241 they had outposts within the NCR such as local cities. But sometime after this the NCR would go to war with the BOS a big problem as the Brotherhood did not hire outsiders, everyone was born into the Brotherhood. So the NCR with it's massive military campaign outnumbered the Brotherhood leading them to the BOS hiding away in bunkers. This is what we see in New Vegas set in 2281.
The Brotherhood were active on the East Coast as well settling in the Capital Wasteland, D.C. This chapter took up the mission of helping the wasteland and even hired outsiders to fill their ranks to fight against the large Super Mutant hoards. West Coast did not like this and cut ties. This is the Brotherhood we meet in Fallout 3 in 2277. Sometime after this a young Arthur Maxson became Elder and started to revert back to the old ways of the Brotherhood, getting into contact with the West Coast and even building an airship that would allow them to travel large distances. They also found a stockpile of T-60 Power Armour replacing the T-45 we see them wear in Fallout 3. By the time of Fallout 4 set in 2287 the BOS from The Capital Wasteland travelled to The Commonwealth in their airship, same design we see in the Fallout series but two differant airships.
My theory is that sometime around the 2280s 5 years after Fallout 3 the East Coast Brotherhood of Steel sent an airship West to reinforce the West Coast Brotherhood. That's why we see a T-60 Knight during Max's flashback, West Coast only wore T-51 (personal favourite power armour) and the T-45. They also fly the East Coast Brotherhood flag in this series and hire outsiders, most likely children like we see in The Mandalorian.
Also I'm pretty sure that Knight Titus had an East Coast accent, sounded Boston so I think most of the Brotherhood we see in the show are from the East Coast with a few being from the West such as Max.
But yeah it looks like they'll form a new West Coast Chapter. I hope we see T-51 power armour in the next season. it's the armour used in the first Fallout game and is shown on the box art so it's iconic. The T-60 was only introduced with Fallout 4 but hey 2015 is nearly 10 years ago now so I guess it's old now.

The idea in Fallout 4 is that Lyons Brotherhood ended up merging back with the Brotherhood Outcasts who still had a xenophobic attitude.
What occurred is they maintained the interventionist and expansionist views of Lyons' Brotherhood, but also adopted the xenophobic and technology centered attitude of the Outcasts.
Lyons was an expansionist, but viewed outsiders as human beings and wanted to make a positive impact. The Outcasts thought of outsiders as dumb savages, but primarily kept to themselves and focused on gathering tech, so the merger ended up bringing the worst elements of the Brotherhood to the surface.

@@MrArvin0306 Did you watch the scene i'm talking about? It's in the credits. The camera pans through the Strip, with it's gate blown open. Buildings all look abandoned and damaged, with corpses, deathclaw skull and NCR vertibird in the streets. I think you and i might have different definitions of thriving.

The New Vegas reveal at the end was so freaking awesome. For those of us who are fans of the games, that is HUGE.
Also, the "War... war never changes." is the classic line from the Fallout world. You should watch the opening cinematic to Fallout 4. It is so freaking good, and revolves around this quote from Fallout.
All the actors did a great job in this show, and were so well written. I was so scared they were going to give us a "Mary Sue" when they announced this movie, with the main female protagonist. They ended up giving us one of my favorite female leads in years. Ella Purnell did such a great job playing this character, and she was so well written. They balanced giving her this naivety, but didn't make her stupid.
As for Walton Goggins... why isn't he in all the movies and shows? ALL the movies and shows.

I commented in another group about Lucy and her character development. A lot of it was through the early montage from the first episode. But it showed where she got her skills and their limits. She almost gets killed more than once. She has to rely on others to complete tasks. She makes mistakes.
What she wasn't was Superwoman (Ms Marvel) who could do anything and everything just because she was she.
Though it's been years since I've played, as soon as it appeared on the screen I knew New Vegas. I was wondering if they would mention it when they panned by Mr House. At first I thought he'd be the dissenting voice against Valt Tec's plan. Trying to explain his own plan. Once they announced "we'll start the war" I guess he knew he had a set time to get things finished.
