    That joke about military etc. is credited to the famous engineer Charles Proteus Steinmetz fixing Ford's factory. It is about a chalk mark on a machine, he billed Ford 10k USD, then Ford asked for an itemized bill, probably for accounting/taxing reasons, and Steinmetz did so, by itemizing the chalk mark as 1$ and knowing where to mark as 9999$.
    This is of course probably an urban legend, because there is another variation in which it was Nikola Tesla who did the job.

    South African here, I want to address the common conception that South Africa is "south of Africa" and I will say from my experience that it is indeed south of Africa and you are correct.

    I wounder if Josh knows Acrobatics reduces fall damage, so all he has to do is cast the Jump spell just as he lands, and that too will negate the fall damage.
    I used to start a new game by using the Scrolls of Icarian Flight to reach Balmora, and would use one to jump and the second to land. Don't do that anymore though as it's better to sell them for the Septims.
    Did I purposefully wait to mentiojn this until he was basically done with the series... maybe.

    • @deesevrin8570
      @deesevrin8570 9 месяцев назад +3

      Pretty sure he's using a jump spell rather than fortify acrobatics which doesn't stop fall damage?

      It's actually pretty cheap to enchant something with 1 point of slowfall for like 3 seconds. I had a slowfall ring that never ran out even though I put a tiny soul gem in it, but my jump enchantment items would run out all the time, so I wouldn't want to drain them twice as fast.

    slightly disagree about the going into the office argument. Often you can get more done when you can directly interface with a person. Additionally, building relationships and understanding is lost by not working together in the same place. Yes, you can get certain work done just as much and more relaxed at home, but you are missing out on the synergy of team effort. Half of my job is talking to people, checking in on them to find out the problems, and discussing issues. Now this relies on a corporate atmosphere that encourages and relies on those synergies. I have been a lot of jobs were that wouldn't be the case, but if you are doing it right, there are a LOT of benefits to the business by working in the office. My current company, we have gone for split working from home and at the office throughout the week with certain meetings/events were everyone is supposed to be in the office. It works, but i know we get more accomplished by being in the office and build that "family" feeling - yeah not a family but the relationships that make working together and sharing knowledge happen more easily.

    The sheer audacity of these hot takes is astounding, it's so sheltered and privileged, not a ounce of true insight, simply dismissive of every other ethos ever encountered. He reminds me of most streamers in stifled adolescence, the views are so teenager or childlike in expression, presuming to not only know the *right way* but completely ignorant in the fact that other ways of doing things can and has achieved desirable outcomes. This adult leading a flock of children unprompted through the perils of existence, standing atop a pedestal to elongate the importance of the mundane and singular. "People say to me" "People come up to me" "People ask me". This is how you arrive at a conclusion in life to the detriment of all other possibilities, you know your right, you know best and better, you've found the answers and that's where you stay, it's very juvenile and masculine. Maybe it's simply to try and fit in with younger people or perhaps self esteem, it is perplexing. I enjoy the game though! ❤
