  • About 25 years ago, speaker-designer Albert Von Schweikert told SoundStage! founder Doug Schneider to read just one book on loudspeaker design, explaining to him that if he did that, he would know more than 95% of the current hi-fi reviewers do about speakers. As Doug explains in this video, he heeded that advice-plus more-and tells you the two books he would recommend today that can do the same for you.

Doug, this is excellent content, great advice, and was very well presented.
I would add that while there are good sources of information available free of financial cost, there are very many more sources of misinformation presented falsely as fact, and it may take a while for each to learn how to filter that (some will seemingly never learn how), and all of that takes time. I would suggest that time should be treated as a precious resource. Your auggestions in this video save a lot of that time, and not only help to provide good foundation of knowledge, but also help in building a better filter to detect misinformation, or disinformation.

I'd recommend getting Floyd's physical paperback and avoiding the Kindle version of the 3rd edition. There's a lot of formatting issues and missing diagrams within the e-book. Since a third of the book is in those annotated diagrams, you're missing a third of the content by going digital.
