      @@gracehernandez9620 no it is not dangerous for yourself but you need to watchout for people stealing your logage. What I personally did was booking a sleeping cabin they are most of the time close to 10 euros in the balkans. You need to share them with strangers most of the time, but you can close the cabin off so it is the lesser of the risks.

      I dont fully understand how this rule works-
      It still counts as a travel day right? So the only difference is you’re travelling at nigjt and get to enjoy when you get there..?

    I won a DiscoverEu interailling pass and came across this video! Thanks so much for the tips and suggestions of places, will definitely go to visit ljubljana! Would you suggest a big backpack for interrailing or a small suitcase? my friends and i are planning on only staying in airbnbs, so i'm not sure which one would be more convenient

    • @CocoDay

      venus aby i took a medium sized rucksack for 2 months and i still felt like i had too much stuff!
      but if you’re staying in air bnbs then a suitcase may be nicer because you won’t be hurting your back and don’t have to be as cautious with you belongings

    Hey, so last summer I went on a city trip on my own (to test if solo traveling is something for me). I really enjoyed it. I went to Prague by Flixbus (don't recommend that bus, it was horrible 😂), stayed at a hostel and did some free city Tours. I all really enjoyed it. But there was one down side. I ended up not really meeting any people at all. I'm an introvert person and the hostel i stayed in didn't really had a common room or whatever. But there must be something I should do differently next time. Do you have any tips for me? I'm planning to do an interrail trip in about 2 years and would be great if I meet some people along the way. Also I'm not in my twenties anymore, which most solo travels are. Do you think that might be a factor why I didn't really meet any people?

    • @nathangiovannini3250
      @nathangiovannini3250 2 года назад +2

      Hi Thijs! Especially for introvert people the right situation is a great push to meet people and friends. In an hostel with a common room is soo easy to start a conversation (it needs just a deep breath before). Then, activities are always a conversation passepartout, where you share an experience there is immediately a connection. Good luck for your next trip!

    • @del7920
      @del7920 2 года назад +2

      Some hostel's have a design layout that allows for more social interactions. My 1st hostel in Turkey I was really disappointed that I didn't make many friends and I blamed it on my introvertedness and then in my second hostel it was so easy to make friends because we usually had breakfast together or everyone would be in the common area in the evening.

One thing that confuses me is wheather or not you can take a train to one city and then take the next one from a different city in the same country. Like for example travel to Rome on one of your travel days and then take the next train another travel day from milan

    Hi there,
    Thinking of planning an interrail trip...
    One thing I am confused on...
    Do you just write the train you want to board into your pass or do you have to show your pass at a ticket office and get a train ticket?
    Can you just jump on the trains? And is the interrail pass your ticket? You said you would be booking your next train when you arrived in a country? Can you explain what you meant by this? Thanks

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад

      if you want to reserve a seat then you can buy an additional ticket (usually under 10 euros), but otherwise you can just write the train you want to go on on your interrail ticket!
      you can just jump on trains but be aware that you may not get a seat if it's one of the busier trains so you could sit on the floor or have to reserve a seat
      and i said i booked my next train when i arrived in another country because i did reserve seats at the ticket office literally when i got off another train (i just felt more organised this way and knew i wouldn't have to sit on the floor haha) you don't have to do that though!

    I was planning on traveling to Europe with these travel packages next August 2020 because it would be much more affordable and i feel I’d be able to travel to more places. It’s a little scary because my boyfriend and I have never done anything like it let alone stay in a hostel 😭 I’m doing more and more research and it seems like such a normal thing to do there.
    Anyway, when you did go to places or when you went out with people, where did you leave your backpack and valuables? Many have said to never leave your belongings in hotels etc 😫

    @levistidham9298 5 лет назад +2

    Hi! Your video was extremely helpful! I have a question! I am studying abroad in Spain this June and after I am trying to plan a trip around Europe. I am trying to decide whether it is better to go alone or go with a friend? I’ve been to Europe twice before with family and a group and I had a hard time making other connections and meeting people. So basically on one hand I agree with you that I will prolly meet more people alone. But also I feel like it is maybe a lot to bite off all on my own and having a second person would be nice to help with cooking and planning etc. Which do you think is better?

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад +3

      Levi Stidham i would say if you really don’t want to go alone, then only go with ONE friend because that way, the two of you are still approachable to other solo/group travellers and you will still make friends. when i went i noticed that groups larger than 3 would keep to themselves and weren’t as sociable because they were intimidating and also didn’t NEED to makes friends.
      hope this helps!

    I don’t get the reservations of the Interrail trains, like what if I’m in Paris and I decide I wanted to stay longer I couldn’t because I’ve already reserved my train seat for the next location??

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад

      Fay neerg you don’t have to make reservations if you don’t want to, as long as you write the train time on your ticket you can get on the train BUT you might not get a seat if all of them are reserved ALSO you could be kicked off the train if it has too many people on

    so i know that i am not that early but i am planning to go on an interrail trip next summer (2020) and you said that you only spent about 15 £ per night in a hostel- i did some research and i was asking myself if you slept in dorms with other people because i am a bit scared about this and i would prefer a hostel where i have my own small room with my friend but those hostels are very expensive on what i found on my research. How did you (or other people here) manage to spent that less money? Do you have any tips or can you share your experience with dorms or other accomondations?

    Hello!!! I wanted to know how did u do on your interrail? Did u plan daily/weekly activities and main poins before going or was it done spontaneously?

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад +3

      hi! i actually only planned my first 2 cities (transportation, accommodation and activities) but for the other 14 i planned absolutely nothing and did everything spontaneously :)
      BUT i did have ideas of what i wanted to do in each place like visit a certain landmark or museum, i just usually made a plan on the first day in each place which took at most an hour, you could also do it on the train!

  • @fayneerg7265
    @fayneerg7265 5 лет назад

    So basically you HAVE to plan your route and specific times if you want to do interrailing? You can’t sort of just wing it?

    • @ragnhild7557
      @ragnhild7557 5 лет назад +1

      you can obviously wing it and be spontaneous, but planning ahead makes everything easier and avoids complications (mostly). the whole point of interrailing is kind of based around being spontaneous, though, so that's kinda the point

    So your flights, tickets and food/hostel/activities cost all came up to £2,600 for 2 months? Is that correct? I’m leaving for a 2 month trip in 6 weeks and I’m just trying to get an idea of a budget xx

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад +1

      Nicole Fewtrell yeah that’s right except i would actually say it should’ve been £2500 because i had a little shopping spree on my last day and got tattoos... 😅
      the amount i spent varied each day so some would be £30 and others £50 (including accommodation etc)
      i would just make sure you’ve got a reserve fund in case of an emergency :)

    Hi hun! Love the video. I just had a quick question - were you able to use your pass to go between cities in the same country (EG when you went from Rome to Venice), or did you have to book them outside of the interrail pass?

    • @CocoDay
      @CocoDay  5 лет назад +1

      Lizzy Hood hey :) i definitely uses my pass from Lyon to Paris but the Rome to Venice trip i can’t remember :/ pretty sure i did use it but even if i hadn’t, a trip that short would only cost a couple euros x
