Looking excellent. - December this time last year you were heading past my area (401/Kingston) during that snow madness - this year nothing (a bit this weekend). I'd love a diesel heater in my minivan but I've got a Handy Heater, extension cord and my mechanic let's me stay in his bays at night in exchange for night security. It's a blessing. Happy New Year! 😊

Thank you! It's a bit of a mess currently, but I am happy with it 😁
It seems to go in cycles around here, but definitely not anything like a decade ago it seems 🤔
That is a good setup and arrangment!! I have a similar small honeywell ceramic heater I've had for ages that I keep in the van. Great when there is shore power, small and pretty well instant heat! The worst part about the diesel heater, if it isnt a dud, is the diesel tank, my next van I may put down the cash for the name brand gas units and run it off the van tank. Its a shame diesel powered vans arent more popular over here!

Coming along nice. One way you can deal with screwing through the vinyl plank is drill a larger hole through the flooring than the fastener needs so it has room to move around the fastener. When I finally get around to the camperizing part of my van, I am going to use roll/sheet vinyl flooring it's like lino do the whole floor in a single piece so you don't get the inevitable joint problems of vinyl plank. How did you do your solar wire through the roof, did you use the fancy pass through connector thing maybe it comes in the kit, I just got the panels and have to get all the other components yet.

Thanks! Good idea, I was thinking cutting a "U" shape out of the plank around the screws, but the larger hole would be much easier, I may pull the trim up and do that in the summer temps.
I think the single sheet of vinyl/lino is probably the way to go in a van, I landed on the lvp for the strength and durability, thinking since my floor is only 1/2" cheap ply that isn't really fastened, it may add to that "solid" feel. It seems to have done that but not sure the weight and extra work and worry of gaps is worth it. There was also limited choices in roll flooring when I went to buy mine and the lvp was 35% off so my arm was twisted.
For the solar wiring I ended up buying a wire entry gland separate, the kit came with everything but the gland, fuses/breakers and a tube of sealant. I used the dicor lap sealant since it seems to be holding up well on the roof vent.
Good luck on your build and appreciate the comment!

@@alwaysgoodinthewoodsThanks for the info on the solar, that is the one area I haven't done enough research on yet.
Ya for sure lots of variables play into the materials choices, we've got some end of the roll type type stores here that should be ok pricing and home depot sells a roll vinyl prepacked fairly cheap that lists it's dimension roughly what is needed for the van floor, but reading the comments on their site sometimes they are undersize by a few inches either way and that would make for a useless piece.
Thanks again, keep up the great content!

I had to get rid of my max air fan - I do stealth camping in my astro and its a dead giveaway

This is true, got rid of it and patched the hole and all?
Between the general look and age of the van, vent fan, and now solar, its safe to say I can kiss any stealth goodbye 😅
My first van was a stock minivan, I miss the full stealth days but now Id rather be where I am welcome or better yet so far out no one is any the wiser.
