Great video on how container shipping works! The creator did an excellent job of breaking down the complex process of shipping containers from one location to another. It's fascinating to see how much effort goes into planning and executing these operations. One interesting point to note is that container shipping has revolutionized the global economy by enabling faster and more efficient movement of goods across the world. Additionally, the use of standardized containers has made the loading and unloading process much quicker and easier. Another important aspect of container shipping is the role of technology in tracking and managing the containers. With the help of advanced systems, shipping companies can monitor the location and condition of containers in real-time, ensuring that they reach their destination safely and on time. Overall, this video is a great resource for anyone interested in learning about the complex world of container shipping. Kudos to the creator for explaining it in such an engaging and informative way!
I am a nautical science student, after reading from book this video has cleared all the concepts regarding container shipping .Thank you so much marineinsight.
A good over view for many. On the "Dangerous Goods", only that in "bulk" go to the "Tank Container". Those do not typically cause problems and are easily monitored. Dangerous good that have already been "retail packaged" or "commercially packaged" go into the standard 1 or 2 TEU with "everything else". Those can get into mischief on board if not properly described / labeled. If the small unit would not need to be identified but multiple by how many are in a container (which becomes "the package" for Port & Ship). Plus pack prep before containerized then at containerizing location, the need to keep load secure inside of container. This is prep for sea. Ships are large in port but very small at sea. Calm days, sea is gentle on the vessel. Add strong weather and the sea can be a challenging place to survive. Many pieces to the process and when done well, is an excellent process. Need all to do excellent work every day on every container. A part of "critical infrastructure".
I am working as a software consultant for transportation and it really helped me a lot. The pace of the presentation and the details show are extremely well put together. Thank you!
This is a very intresting subject to me since I have worked for container terminal operations also Port operations and worked for leading Shipping lines like Maersk line CMA-CGM, and other shipping and freight firwading organisation withing a period 30 years, during that period I handled all operational work and Documentation, Logistics, handled Intermodel transportation and gained many experiences localy and overseas in many countries by starting as a beginner and ending up as a experienced Operations Manager till I retired, now I am 62 years old still think of the past and enjoy the pleasent and deadly experiences in my past. now the technology is much more advanced than our time.
I'm working in a cruise ship and standing now in front of cargo ship and curiosity makes me search for a video on how cargo shipping works. With this video i understand now what's inside the container and know what they are doing. Now i can go to my cabin and sleep well without question on my mind because it's my breaktime. 😂 thanks to this video.
Wow, this video really breaks down the complex process of container shipping so well! 🚢📦 It's amazing how these steel boxes connect the whole world 🌍. Big respect for the people working behind the scenes to make global trade possible 🙌. Great content, learned so much! 👍✨

Wow it very good for maritime students and those working Very understandable video👍 Am studying shipping and maritime management at ICM UK So I need more videos
Obviously these might be irrelevant but it's part of the chain though, custom clearance is missing, duty has to paid (depending on the goods & country's tariff) before the good could be delivered. Pre booking or cargo reservation is missing, shipper/exporter has to prebook the shipment based on container or tonnage to the preferred destination via shipping agent or freight forwarder. Both the shipper/exporter & importer has to check if there is any restriction of trade/goods between these two countries. There were many times the goods are detained and destroyed by customs/authorities due to goods/trade restrictions, this is deemed as shipper/buyer's responsibility. This is quite an issue to exporters & importers as different countries impose different restrictions upon countries & goods and worst they would change it without prior notice depending on the country's political scenario & policies.
......during the intermodal transportation of the containers such as IMDG or reefer additional information on safety measures could also have been incorporated in the presentation video..........just a recommendation
What happens to the empty container? It has returned to the shipping line? Can it be sent to an exporter for immediate reuse to export goods? Are surplus empty containers sent back to the original country of origin? Can a container be shared by different shipping lines to facilitate reuse?
It depends on the owner of the container. If it is shipping company, it needs to be returned to them. Many shipping company use container of other companies.
Depends on the condition of the container. If any damage occurs to the container, it will be repaired or empty backloaded to certain destination for repair. If not, container can be directly released for export purpose.
See its a business, yes it can be returned to liner or can be usable for exporting, if a container delivered and unstuffed and if there is an consine to send near by that area then it can usable, another thing empty container always not returned to where it had came, you know shipping liner have more branches across the globe and they can use their it's just like suflling cards

What percentage of global trade is done by container shipping?
And how much of global trade is by bulk cargo shipping?
90%!
It's 90 percentage of the cargo transported to the sea by containers
For the bulk cargo it is the percentages remain from the containers shipping,I mean 10 percentage
Tq for explaining very well.
