Congratulations to Kirsten Rausing, Sir Mark Prescott, Luke Morris, Annabel Willis and the great Alpanista on a marvellous victory. Delighted for Luke Morris who rode a marvellous race. Well done owner and trainer for entrusting jockey with the ride. Best of luck in future with the horse when she goes to stud. Brilliant commentary by Ian Bartlett, very clear.
Alpinista is an exceptional mare. I am very pleased with her victory and that of her gentleman trainer Sir Marc Prescott. Torquator Tasso ran a magnificent race. Too bad he had the wrong jockey on his back. We will see the great Alpinista again next year. From Torquator Tasso we will see his descendant in three years at the earliest. Take care Tassolino.
The old adage "on a rainy day, bet the grey" sure held up in this year's renewal of the Arc. Well done indeed to trainer Sir Mark Prescott and the connections of Alpinista for continuing to believe the Arc was not only the main target but a winnable race for this tough, gritty mare.
Amazing all those years riding no hopes on the aw all times of year, got what he deserved in the end, and absolutely beauty of a ride, if had pulled the trigger two strides earlier or later he'd probably been beat.
Two furlongs out I thought he’s going to win! Just think only a few days before I was at Pontefract watching him win in his usual style. Well done Luke ,I often put 50p on you to win.
Alpanista travelled so beautifully. Deserved winner. It always makes me smile watching French racing. Our stalls handlers in England are built like small ex-jockeys. The ones in France are built like WWE wrestlers. What exactly is going on there ? LOL
A shame they couldn't find a spot in this for Veery Elleegant. While she would have struggled to match the first 5 this is the race pace she's been looking for after the walk trot and sprints she's been racing in.
Old habits die hard for Prescott, still trying to put people away on her chances, being out of an Hernando mare she was always going to relish the soft conditions, but congratulations we can chalk another one up for the UK.
@@natalliaf6387 I don't know how you can say that with out giving an intelligent reason🤔....a perfect and we'll judged ride at the arc and his record on the all weather is probably the best off all the jockeys in the country
A lot of people saying this was a weaker renewal and that “if Torquator Tasso runs the same race this year as last, it’ll be good enough”. I think 13 group 1 winners, the cream rising to the top in the placings and TT running the exact same race and finishing third suggests it was at worst an average or slightly higher renewal. Well done Alpinista.
@@kevinpantera4429 I’m confused about your response. TT DID run ostensibly the same race as last year and didn’t win. Best horse won the race. All I’m saying is pre-race a lot of people were saying last year’s race was stronger and that that was why if TT ran at the same level again, he’d win. He did run at that level and didn’t win. Underrated renewal.
@@rossbyrnes1597 he got beaten by the starting place though, box 18 on the arc is really a bad one, and he really didn't had a good trip compared to Alpinista. There is a good chance he would have won with a better trip closer to the inside. That said, it takes nothing out of the win of Alpinista, a great champion.
@@kheyoucharles7222 oh I agree Kheyou and I’m a big fan of Torquator Tasso. I’m glad he’s come back this year group 1 competitive in England, France and Germany, because it means that his legacy is more than just 75-1 ‘fluke’ Arc winner, which it is evident he was not.
The whip doesn’t hurt the horse they have got lighter and lighter as the years have gone by it just encourages them, these horses are looked after extremely well.

Big grey looked to like the soft going! Well done, ground saving ride. Big crowd too.
She's a small horse.
The grey is hard to slay on a rainy day kudos to Alpinista and Luke Morris what a beautiful ride

I wish Title Holder would turn up for the Champion Stakes, I fear we will end up with a fairly slow run race, and Baaeed will have it easy.
Sir Mark a lover of horse racing and Luke top jockey and had them at 5/1 .

She’d be tailed off mate, just she wasn’t good enough as the Aussies think, adeyyebb beat her 3/4 times that’s tells the story
