    • @GBeret83
      @GBeret83 10 месяцев назад

      Among European turf horses easily the biggest for the 2023 flat season, and probably fair to say the best 3YO on turf over middle distances anywhere. I would however say a strong case could be made for Equinox in Japan as well. Pretty frightening the ease that he was winning races like the Arima Kinen last December and this season beginning at Meydan in March his win in the Dubai Sheema Classic where he was scarcely ever even off the bridal during the entire race, and then back at Tokyo Racecourse the Tenno Sho(Autumn) and the Japan Cup. Don't get me wrong, Auguste Rodin was my favorite to watch this season also, and to have a 3YO colt good enough to beat the best of his classic generation in the Epsom Derby & Irish Derby, and then defeat top older horses in the Irish Champion Stakes & Breeders Cup Turf is most definitely a tremendous season by anyone standards. I was just making the case that Equinox also belongs in the conversation too, IMO.

    • @gretafields4706
      @gretafields4706 10 месяцев назад

      Yes, you are right. Ace Impact is another great horse. My sister said Equinox is rated best in the world, and Ace Impact next. I don't really know that much about European racing, Japan. I just really like to follow Coolmore horses. Ace Impact (French) just retired. Check out City of Troy, whom people hope will be the next Nijinsky. He looks just like his sire, Justify, running. O'Brien calls him his best 2 yr old EVER.

    He may have flopped in the English 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and the King George at Ascot, but he's been a revalation to watch in winning the G1 Epsom Derby & G1 Irish Derby during the early part of the season, and absolutely at his best in winning the G1 Irish Champion Stakes and again here in the G1 Breeders Cup Turf late in the season. When he's on his game it takes a serious turf horse to beat him. If he never runs another step and is sent off to stud he'll be remembered much more for his 5 total career G1 victories, (also won the G1 Vertem Trophy Stakes at Doncaster as a 2YO) than his two sub-par runs at Newmarket & Ascot, you can take that to the bank!

Moore was humble about his luck when he was interviewed afterwards and l have to say l admired him , a little bit of lady luck we all need every now and then .
