I want to give everybody a pro tip. I've been training people for 35 years. If you notice when this guy is pushing up the weight he is actually holding his breath until he gets to the top and then he exhales. For the majority of people this won't be a problem but I can tell you if you have an aneurysm or high blood pressure, it's a very dangerous way to lift. Even after I got my degree in exercise science, I still didn't know this. I learned this not too long ago when I had to start learning about aneurysms. All exhaling should be done as you are pushing the weight not just when you get done. This goes for every exercise. Most people don't even realize they're doing it and I sure didn't know for a long time. Good luck!.
Interestingly, i just started making proper breathing part of my focus when training… preciate that message
@@Imhotep_DrummerJones 👍
Excellent point,very true.
I try my BEST to focus on this! More than the reps at times. I’m trying to master it both. I was told that the army so you don’t pass out. Running. Calisthenics. All of it.
@@rareforareasontv exactly. Most people hold their breath until the end like I saw in this video . For most people it won't make much of a difference but with certain health conditions it's very dangerous and in general it's best to do it right.
Mike, you’re definitely correct. When he pushed up that 315, I grabbed my shoes and my hoodie. Omw to the gym right now!!!! Thanks for the content. 🔥
Hell yeah, that’s what I’m talking about
Same here
Mike's a Jedi Master out in these streets, and on these platforms teaching, giving back excellent knowledge. Shout out to him. Give him all his flowers now. Nothing but respect, and endless successful venture towards you Big Homie, keep grinding for yours. ✊🏾
I started following Mike & I went from 175 to 225 on the bench
I went from 135 to 140
I’ll get you to 225 & 210 for reps
great gains bros
What routine did you use
Hopefully I’m next lol
Mike rashid teachings helped me get stronger.... Overtraining is the only way to grow 💯
I remember mike , big rob, bulo, and CT first started on RUclips them guys taught me everything i know and wanna say thank y'all for all lessons
Mike Rashid..I’m one of the people this video made go to the gym! I love the overtraining videos! I’m about to go fuck shit up in the gym. People sleep in on Sundays, I’m up at 5am watching Mike Rashid videos mentally preparing for my workouts! Thank you!!
The real question is what is your meaning of fucking shit up ? everyone says they are or want to fuck shit up but who's really doing it
I miss your videos like this bro videos like this is the reason I started following you since 2014 thank you
This is exactly how my dad trained me. Guys don't understand there is a method to the madness. You want to get stronger you have to push yourself and struggle to failure. Love the workout Mike !!
Men I miss hit that 315 15 times I ruined my shoulder benching too much around 2018 so now I drop my weight and I’m founding my self inclining a lot at 200 lbs my age is 59 body feels good my cardio is what I enjoy the most but Mike men yall bring me so far CT big Rob and baby boy Samson men keep doing it I’m not gonna quit I always got another set in me
Love Mike from early man... his advice always hits your mind and soul. CT and Simeon videos 🫡
tell it like it is no bs,very good.i have seen a lot off youtube fitness trash but you stand above it.great info
Big Fax!! When he did the 305 the first time. I said Mike just put this man in a different stratosphere!! And I was like I’m doing this my next workout and I’m going to start working toward more gains. It maybe a bit different for me because I’m fasting on my workout days but I’m getting stronger ever time I go back to my gym. It the mindset. The body will do what you tell it to do!! And seeing him do that 305 as many times as he did was PURE INSPIRATION!!
Damn this guy is still going. I remember watching him like 10 years ago.
Same here. His style of training got me to 2 plates within just a few months of benching. I’ve been plateaued at 315 for some time now so here I am again. Gonna get to work.
Appreciate you Mike for not being scared to correct and give feedback. Look at how it increased and improved his bench! I'm doing Kingmaker rn and loving it! Exerting myself and it feels like a reward
Yess we need more videos like this, different muscle groups with the info and tips💪🏼🙏🏼
faccs
HIS HEAD NEEDS TO STAY FLAT ON THE BENCH. THAT’S AN INJURY RISK, AS IN KNECK STRAIN OR OTHER! LOVE THE VIDEO👊🏿👊🏿
Got to be dialed in for every set for every rep. That mind muscle connection is so critical. Even with a plate you connect with the muscle you can feel the muscle work throughout the whole movement. May not be the same work as two plates but you can still feel it. I close my eyes when I do most of my lifts. This allows for a symbiotic connection between mind and muscle.
Facts no lies detected
Notice I been closing eyes also
Mike, I love your content bro. I’ve been a spectator for years and you’ve always been consistent in your teachings and practices. I credit you as much of the reason why my training has progressed so much over the past couple years. Much love and respect bro, keep up the great work my guy! 💯💪🏿
Appreciate you
Damn been a minute since I saw a Rashid video but glad this popped up! Just getting back into lifting after a few months I needed this push , love this shit!
That fact that Mike rashid has broken down the basics of weight training is phenomenal! If you go back and watch his old videos he talks about the importance of the basics.
Lord knows I needed this video. I saw it last night and instantly wanted to go to the gym. Like buddy, I've been comfortable at 225. This morning, I got up to 295 for 2. 3 plates coming soon
It u can do 295 for 2 then u already csn di 315. Trust me u got it
💪🫵
@@westsidemike-sv1xmnot necessarily. I could hit 295 for 4 305 for 2 and I always failed at 315. It a lot of mental tho
I like watching your videos feels like I'm actually there with you guys
Glad to see you back brother, You had me Jacked ten years ago. Pure motivation.
Yooooo it’s crazy I swear that 305 set gave me the chills I really wanna get up and work again! It’s snowing in Baltimore pretty bad rn I still got it in this morning I wanna go back now!!
Definitely gained new insights on how I train. I do go to failure as I'm going up in weight but no longer. Awesome advice Thanks Mike.
Honestly the dude is in great shape and looks healthy. I would tell him keep doing what he’s doing
Damn Mike this is the best shit I’ve seen all day. One love fellas. My man is a killer! He saw that shit all the way through. Real men know what that’s about. Much respect. Halas 💪🏾
That elbow tip is golden, going to use that
This video was 🔥 Mike. Takes me back to your original training methods and your old videos. Thank you King. We need more like this. Shout out the young man too. He held his own on a totally new routine. Very impressive!
What a lucky man to get to train with meaningful tips and advice. 2:00 3:00 5:05 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It’s from the book Mind Body Master by Dan Millman. Check it out
Big Mike I appreciate the lesson on the arm form and position. I started back working out and injured my shoulder 3 reps in on 100lbs.. This really helped
On bench press
Can we all take a moment and respect Mike's beard game..... his beard is ALWAYS on point
A video that was actually making sense of lifting🔥💯🙏🏾🛐
I'm about right where this dude is. Solid video man
Amazing video , Mike is so knowledgeable and he also doesn’t waffle. Lotta these boys waffle on their platforms and they don’t supply adequate rationale as to why they’re doing what they’re doing.
Get Your Health Right Mike, More Important Than Wealth
Don’t watch to many videos like this but have to say it’s great video going to do chest today !! Good job bro
Love this episode; as usual bro Mike is great at motivation in the lilifestyle of fitness and more....
Appreciate you
@@MikeRashidOfficial absolutely 💯 bruh, amazing brother, appreciate you.
This is facts straight up gems
Two of the best 🔥🔥🔥
This shit right here makes me want to bring my sleeping bag to the gym and just visit my house for an hour a day.
Appreciate the words of wisdom and Guidance I’m in the house of pain and just received that Super dad pack 2.0!
Greatness the coaching is immaculate immaculate
Mike back🐐
Mike you the Goat homie 🐐. Hell of a chest workout
Something as simple as changing his grip from false grip to full grip would add more weight to his lift.
hell yea man he smashed it i was hyped for this lad
so much wisdom in this great video
This has motivated me for chest tomorrow man
all this volume is not necessary. only do the minimal effective volume to failure because at the point ur done because anymore after that is just more damage with no additional benefit
Yo Mike.. you should do a follow up video with him so we can see his progress/results from your method 💪🏽🔥
I started following Mike and I went from 1 girl to many girls. I feel amazing.
Pleasure from effort... spoken truth... live the truth
This training method is gold thanks for the game bro 💯💯🔥
I pause the video to write my comment when I unpause it the first thing Mike said was, and we going up in weight!! Man I’m over here going nuts!

Sick bro …. You blessed with some knowledge my G
Michael is the truth 😊❤
Nice Tip Mike on letting them know the spotter role! I hate when I see that in the gym, the lifter should be able to get his weight up, the spotter is there for when he is in trouble.
I needed to see this!! I gotta step up my intensity!!
Great tips and advice this is what I like about watching you bruh! This is why I started following you keep it up 👍🏽
Strength training & High volume all in one. Best way to train 🦾
Dayum I feel the pump watching this lmaooo
Im 185 to 190 bout to get back on track to 405 and 425 now I get mike rashid tactics overtraining which some don't getting til the person muscles are spend fatigued but it's works im on monster mode in the gym
Props to the long armed lifter in the vid. Tough movement for his frame
Mike is definitely one of my go to people for them lifts I need
yooo just followed along to this. my triceps are shot, more so than my chest but boiiiii...this was good.
when i level up im definitely coming to you in person for some work!!
you should do one of these follow alongs for biceps and back as well.
This video motivated tf outta me. Great content 💪🏿💯
Thanks for the plug 🔌
I started watching mike Rashid 3 years ago.. i went from being a beast at bench press...to buying shoes
Overtraining program = power- bodybuilding. This is something I'm definitely going to implement. Being a hard gainer myself, this was the answer I needed for a better training mindset and programming.
My goal is to workout with Mike Rashad one day 💪🏾💪🏾
This is some great knowledge
I got my plateau too yes you have to make the workout more intense by adding more weight and or doing more reps or changing the various types of muscle engaging. Grips too will help give you variety too
Damn. My maximum is 2 and a halve plates. I’m targeting 3 plates. When i see someone pushing above 3 plates I’m astonished. I understand i have much work.
I forgot watching you definitely had my bench go up I gotta remember to watch again
This is the trainer I need. Mike is a fucking animal!!
That shirt 🔥🔥🔥 OG
Definitely just got to the gym watching this. Let's go!!
I'm 225lbs and hit 365lbs today. I'm feeling great. My goal was 405 end of year
Gods best warrior fighter Micheal! Mike Rashid Mike Tyson Mike Jack Mike Jordan Mike O’Hearn!
Cant wait for the squat vid💪🏾
The crazy thing about this workout is that it doesn't really take that long to finish, and you'll get a good pump. Nice work big bro.
More than a pump. He's tearing new fibers in the muscles for growth. 🔥
Great pump, but it does take a while to finish, going all the way up in weight then coming down all the reps plus the rest in between this exercise is not a quick one you need time
Looks like it takes a while bruh lol in a normal gym you gotta get there early or have alot of benches, great work though
Damn uncle Mike the bench is the only thing I don’t progress much in just from fear. Building that confidence going in attack mode all I kno now is hit that bench. Now I’m throwing more weight everyone. FCK FEARRRR
Audio Visual Motivation. Thank you
Cool video mike . How we get are hands on that supplement you advertised?
I know his arms burning 🔥 messing with Mike!!!😂😂😂
Pain is Temporary, Pride is Forever!
Dam you make me feel so strong bro am not on any gear what so ever am about 190 right now and can bench 315 easy, am seriously thinking about jumping on something for the knew year
Definitely made me want to go to the gym
