Solving a problem that doesnt exist. Assuming you use the correct oil, and assuming you change it at 5k-10k miles, and assuming the engine doesn't experience an overheating event - these engines dont sludge up or otherwise suffer any oiling problems. We've never even seen an oil pump fail, or a chain fail, or really any oiling problems of any kind.
Random question. My 2018 Promaster 2500 doesn't have cruise control. If I wanted to add an OEM part (6TB16JXWAC), to the van, would it have all the required wiring harnesses/ parts already installed? Plug and play so to speak? I also remember you saying that all the parts from 1500 to 3500 are interchangeable. If I bought the OEM cruise control from a salvage1500, it should work just fine for my 2500? Thanks. Love your channel btw, so glad I stumbled on it. I will definitely be watching more.
Sorry, didn't see this sooner. My guess is that just adding the stalk wouldn't enable the cruise control. No matter, as the Rostra unit is $300 and pretty easy to install. That said, we've done two Rostra installs and had issues with both, though many other people have had none. Buy it from the guru of cruise control, M and R Electronics in Saginaw MI. Super helpful real people, same price as Amazon.
Pretty good Chevy Chase impersonation at 10:13!
Always enjoy learning new things about engines and parts. Best promaster professor and mechanic..
Very informative and amusing at the same time. Great video!!
Great vids...very entertaining...Professor ProMaster !!!...
I have a new pcv valve and drive care free. Thank you Promasters only.
"A fresh PCV valve is the bomb" - Julius Ceasar
good info thank-you
TLDW version: PCV basically keeps the stuff (oil) out of the thing (engine). Replace at 100k if even then. The more you know.
Knowledge is power!
Hey Kip, what about using an oil catch can to keep the gunk out of your engine?
